"B" Modified class for 2007?

I don't know about donkey carts, but I am sure there will be several of us jack-azzes there!!!

It might suprise ya with the Rams count

I know my opinion might be a little biased since I am a Rams member but I know of several differant people that want to race but cant afford a pure street or B mod or sportsman that just want to go out and race. There are also some mini stocks that are sitting in storage just waiting to come out of retirement. I know that Doe Run has a good car count weekly but if they run like they did this year with racing 3 nights a month and off the 4th week, that would be more cars there. There are pluses and minuses of the mini stocks but there is also a new generation of racers looking to get behind the wheel and the mini stocks look like the most affordable for starting out. And I have had some drivers from MCS say they are considering dropping down to the mini stocks becouse they cant afford the class they are in. I guess the only way to know is run them and see what happens. I would almost garuntee that the car count would be low the first couple of races but would pick up as the year went on. MCS is a prime example, started the season out with 8 cars on a regular basis and the count is up to 14, and would be 18 to 20 if all the cars would be there at the same time. Who knows what the count will be, only time will tell.

"Who knows what the count will be, only time will tell."

That's probably the bottom line right there. Too many variables right now to say. Plans may change between now and next season for some. Situation at other tracks, cost of gas, and who knows what else comes into play. Maybe by the time the pre-season drivers' meeting rolls around there will be a fairly good idea. When's that usually - around February isn't it?

I'm with Tom!!! I'll be one of those jack@sses there!! Heck, I'll even volunteer to be a rickshaw rider - too out of shape to be a runner! Here's a thought - how about wheelbarrow races during intermission???!!!???

Now you're talking!! That's the spirit! Maybe even an unlimited lawnmower class for 'special shows'. I see them once in a while on TV and they really honk!! Be kinda reminscent of the 4-wheelers they used to run there.

Got a motorized beer cooler

My shop is selling motorized beer coolers that are gas and electric, and i am waiting on the new 4 wheel drive coffin coolers to come out. Talk about some good racing, I can hear and picture it now........talk about being entertaining :D .

Butch - if you EVEN tell Rick about those coolers, I'll have a whooping your way so fast you won't know what hit you!! LOL!

Forget Pedro, vote for wheelbarrow racing during intermission!!

b mod's finally.

I think b mods are a great idea. My personal opinion the first year would be slow but it would boom after that.B mod's come around i will start racing again because i can't afford two run the so called imca/ump rules. And lot's of people can't.

I really appreciate everyone's input on this.... Both Curley and Terry have been reading them and I'm sure they appreciate your thoughts and opinions also.! Thanks again.

just as long as there is ump/imca mods i will make a stop there

oh man i hit a milestone 1,000 post wooooo

sounds like your dead set against sportsman, bummer we would have loved to come down on fridays.oh well i guess you guys can try to fill the stands with little ram mini stock type cars. im sure thats what everybody wants to see .....or is it just what you want to see millsey?btw how many crate late models do you really think you will get? no disrespest for the crates but the results from mcs show about 8 or 9 give or take ... JMO

That's a pretty harsh statement don't you think John. Let's also look at payout. Sportsmen get double what the mini stocks do and didn't pull in more cars or put people in the seats. And no, I'm not dead set against it, but remember we were paying $500 to win for the sportsmen in 2004 and the numbers kept dropping. If we could affordably run the sportsmen I'd be all for it, but I'm not the one you have to win over.

For what its worth, add me to your count. I am right in the middle between Malden and Fredricktown. 50 miles each way. I would much rather run at Fredricktown with a B-mod. I quit running Malden and came to Fredricktown way back in 98. I sure did have alot of fun there. Me and a buddy were the matching gold and white monte carlo's #'s 2&3. I am looking forward to the reopening finally happening and cant wait to race!

I like the idea of the B-mods but you can't count me as an every Friday nite car due to working at Doe Run on Fridays. If the class does go over and I still own the car Yes I will be there on my nites off from DRR.I will also say if the car count would be there that the sportsman car always put on an excellent show. Best of luck in whatever classes the Rock races in 2007 and Welcome back !!!!!!!!!!

I know ya do a h*ll of a job keeping us updated anyway Millsy but I might start tearing the car apart already and start getting ready for next year. BUT if I have a chance to race at the Rock yet this year, I'LL BE THERE!!! Boy its gonna nice being able to race an hour from home :D .
Butch.. An hour? I thought you told me you could make it to The Rock in an 27 minutes!!! Wait!!! No. MY bad.. That was your brother.... Gene Kay..heh, heh, heh....:D :D

OUCH!!! That one might just need a band-aid!!!

It's about a 45 minute trip pulling from Perryville. Although we COULD race you, Butch!! ;)

All Right!!

All Right Tracy, Butch doesn't need any encouragement!! I'm so excited about it taking less then an hour to get to the races!!! All though we will still make the trip up to MCS every weekend. Watch it Tracy I me have to slip alittle info Rick's about some coolers!:D ;)

Here's an idea for you to kick around. Why not run a B-mod class along with the sportsman's? Meaning on the track at the same time. They share basically the same engines and running gear. it would be a good way to fill out the class. Give the guys with the old sportsman cars a class to run in again. It would make for an interesting class for sure. Before everyone gets on here bashing me for why this wont work, come up with some good ideas of how it COULD work.

Hmmm the line has been drawn

Lez see Jason, if he is my brother, would that make you an in law???? I know you and him are pretty tight, juz like peas in a pod :D .
I never go into a battle of wits with someone that is unarmed !!! NEEEXXXTTTTT
