Belle Clair in 2011....Lets give ideas on what to change

you being from the belleville area should know all about the tracks history you do have relatives that work there don't or did they disown you j/k

when i was a kid.my first ever job i had was walking around with a soda tray selling soda. whatever happened to them doing that.

Like i said before, i was there about five time this year and a few times the fan and car count was good. So that leaves me to think the track does make money or they wouldnt make it as long as they have. The thing is making money and putting it in to your facility is something that has not been done. I now its the counties job to put up for the up keep. Highlands track is owned by the county and its in nice shape. St.Clair county is just as big as Madison and there should be no problem with the upkeep!!! Dirt hound if you are a race fan like you say,you should be able to see that the place is run down. I one em a fan of the place and dont want to see it closed, but people are only going to take so much of the conditions. I have talked to don with pm and he is going to do his best to fix the issues i have brought up on here and look forward to seeing just what the man can achive.

I( go there for good racing could care less id its rundown as you say the track you kknow the brown area of the fairgrounds is almost always in good shape can't say the same about other tracks thats what go to see restroom and eats so bad here is an idea go before you go in some of the better racing all season is at belle claire jet fighters in a gymnasium what do want new stands great that mean most a season with no racing and your still confined to space given come on smart figure that one out

folks that go to belleclair also go to tcs, i55, sfcr. paducah, etc. and others as well. they go for the races, sure, but they GO BACK because of the overall experience.if the racing is great, but the rest of it was poor, then the marginal fan will go elsewhere. plenty of racetracks within a hour or 2, that are much nicer, and the racing is as good.i am not bashing belleclair, as i have always loved that track, and will always go back. but... you need all of the fans, not just me. like i said, i will forgive alot, but, there is a limit... if you expect the fan to sit there for 3-4 hours, make it at least decent.thats all i am saying. somebody said in an earlier post. kevin and tammy"get it". belleclair management better"get it" too.

if that's the case moblerly and kentucky lake would be running right now with no problems and people will go where they want doesn't matter what if or can etc about it

Look guy, It's amazing how much you act like you know, when really have have NO IDEA. When BC was making money, they made improvements. They havent made improvements in a few years, I wonder why, maybe not finishing the year last year is a clue. And just to let you know, the county has no input, right, will or is it the counties job for the upkeep of the facility. So I think I may be speaking for a few others when I respectfully say, keep the things you "know" to yourself and quit slandering others with false statements.

No they say I know it all but not realy :) You call used highway berrars and a stick box improvements or are you talking about the going backwards in food quality? Realy I don't know Don al that well on a personal level but I can say I think he is what the track needs to even have a chance to make it. some say the county has something to do with improvements? Well don't look like they are trying to hard. Look I also want it to make it no one is slandering or bashing the place but you got to see it needs major help. Keep things the way they are some say... Good luck with that if you want to see it stay open. Think St. Charles if you think BC is untouchable. Try City and Pevely? Now thats how you make improvements. Good luck Don I see you making the place something to come back too.

I have no idea who promoted Belleclair last year or in the previous years. Who is promoting it this year and is he a good choice to help the track prosper?

I would think Belleclair is grandfathered in for noise pollution. No problem now. But if it closes the grandfather clause is probably out the window and we lost another local track forever.

Midget Racer...
Did you go to the Lake Hill reunion a few years ago? It was awesome. Brought back old fun times for sure.

hey dirt boy have you been to been to belleclaire or you just want to bad mouth it for infio the fairgrounds was painted a couple of years the biggest improvement had als already been done by bringing in Donnie H belle claires bad night of racing is ten times better than many tracks can possibly muster

Even though bashing Belle-Clair is Dirt Boys favorite, in recent months he has bashed just about every track around along with a few drivers. He has shown that he is nowhere close to being a true race fan & is actually a detriment to racing in general.

Just to educate dirt boy Belle-Clair & Highland have no connection to either county they are in other than holding the annual fair, which gets a little funding from the state. With the shape Il. is in that stipend is probably been cut to almost nothing.

Belle-Clair is owned by Belle-Clair Fairground Inc. which consist of private stockholders. As stockholders in any venture their main agenda is to get a return on their investment. For most of them they see the expo hall as key to that with a lot less risk.
Without Stan & Tom's urging, the race track would have closed a long time ago. Was it run the right way? Maybe, Maybe not but without those 2 it would be a flea mart.

As for as improvement's, Concrete walls, new wood where there is no concrete, new dirt, new judges stand, new pit gates & opening, entire grandstands painted are just a few improvements made in the last few years that I can think of.

I'm sure Don is aware of the bathrooms and a lot more things that need done. I'm also sure he has been racking his brain 24 hours a day trying to find sollutions to these problems.

Dirt Boy, I'm also sure if you can find sponsor or other funding he would gladly use it to improve the bathrooms. He would probably let you hang the award plaque you have coming over your own personal throne (toilet).

Let's give Don I'm sure this coming season will see improvements, and the following year will be even better.

As for Tri-City, I'm sure the stand could use some work, but I don't think they are as bad as some make them out to be.

Ya thought when building the new building they would have put it all back there and made it the new front stretch. i'm shure they thought about it. Would have made the place look like it was all new.

alot of great suggestions on here, and hopefully don can get the ol' girl back to her rightful place as a great venue. it sure has alot of great history, and much more history to be made. nobody expects anything overnight, and budget $ only goes so far.. all anybody is asking is patience and give it time to happen.. i am sure tcs budget is far greater than b/c's. i say a better wall in turns 3 and 4, and improve the rest rooms.the ladies on here will sure like it. hound is kinda old school, and thats okay, but changing times require changes to keep up, or die. sad fact, but thats the way it is.

Ridinthecushion and Been there, done that... you guys run your mouth and you guy's dont have a clue. This post asked what need to be done and i said my thoughts. As for the drivers i bash just who are they if you know so much? I'm just glad you guy's take the time to keep all the bad thangs said to just me and that way you are leaving everybody else alone. Im not going to stop going to belleclair and im not going to stop on my thoughts of dirty driving and the tracks that just pocket the money and dont put in to there place. So deal with it or just leave the site slimeballs... And as for the track not making money, yeah right look its been open for years and you dont do that by not making money. they are pocketing the money and h$ll with improvments so you people need to deal with it..So when its gone you guy's can always come to tri city and enjoy the night at a good track...Belleclair speedway is run by a bunch money hungry thieves, that dont want the best for the track or could care less about the older people with disabilites and i been there and seen that..
