i am very confused by this comment here! not real sure what you saw but from where i was sitting and the rest of the fans was sitting he hit the official! even the talker guy made notice of it. so i guees the people in attendance and the talker guy didnt see what we did? then what was he thinking running after geischel? i mean really hes a 70 y/o man! what does it make you feel better you can beat up on a senior citizen? it was a racing incedent not a purposely done deal
 
Whats to be confused about?
I talked to Matt this morning. He said he never hit or punched anyone.
Lets see when someone completely destroys your car how you react.
 
It was a racing incident, but it scared the crap out of Matt. If he did hit the official it's because his brain got slammed around, and caused a blind moment. I know if he doesn't get to race there again me and the nine friends I come with won't be back. I'll have to travel to a far track. It was a heated moment and a twenty thousand dollar car, if not more, totally destroyed. So belleclaire officials are hopefully gonna do the right thing. And Geisel its left, left left. There are no right turns in racing. Unless your in a figure eight or a road course.
 
from my view point, Gaeschel turned into Weidner in the corner. The outcome could have been much, much different...the way he hit, I figured he would have been knocked unconscious. It's gonna be a LONG season for the 8g if he continues to drive like that.

I hope Belle-Clair continues to let Weidner run, but I guess we shall see.
 
Geaschel should be the one kicked out NOT matt! As old as he is he has absoutly no buesness driving a late model! He does not have the coordination to drive a racing machine like that i have crewed for a few mods and late models and have one of myown with the money in them they do not need idiots like geaschel out there costing everyone money! Heck i myself have a late model that was left to me by a passed relative and everything needed to go racing but i know what kinda money it takes and i dont want to even attempt it! He needs to have a reality check and rething what he is doin! I help out a championship winning pure stock guy that is nowhere neer the age of geaschel and the very words that came out of his mouth were i wouldnt even try to run a late model i dont have the coordination anymore to try to! Bob Geaschel if you are looking at this forum dont take this the wrong way and this is with all the sincerity i can muster! You need to quit racing and give it up! Matt i hope to see tou back out there soon and if i can help in any way please let me know! D.j.

i wish matt could of got to him also, cause that old man would of handed his azz to him, i was sitting in turn three and seen the whole thing, yes bob got into him, but not on purpose, it was a racing thing, s u c k z for matt and i understand at the moment being mad, but its one thing to catch someone and the next to pass them.

Track was rough,racing hard and contact was made... Racing is racing and that's all it was. Everybody around us said the same thing and yes its common for all racers to react like that in the heated moment.
 
Om let me back up a little not all older driver need put out to pasture but i have been around stock car racing all my life after all my moms water broke in the stands at highland BUT i will say i have seen geaschel race a lot of diffrent times in a few diffrent classes and he has had no talant in any of them after all he nearly took out weaver on the last lap too.... I understand the track was not great but give me an effin break there were how many other drivers out there that could keep from crashing out half the feild! All im saying is if you are over your head give it up regardless of age race gender sexual preffrence or any other thing you want to thow in for a reason why it is ok to be a menace! We also had some problems with him in the modifieds we werent always the fastest but did our damdest to race EVERYONE clean! And if something other that clean racing happens ALWAYS went and appoligised!

Now I'm confused as well. First you say nothing happened, but then go on to defend Matt's actions by stating lets see what you would do if someone completely destroys your car. I would not be happy either, just not sure why he decides to take his frustration out on the official just doing his job.
 
I only made one post. The first post that you are referring to was by a Gerstner.
I went to the shop yesterday morning to see If I could do anything to help.
Matt pulled up, and I said "hey someone on STL said you punched someone" He said "I never punched anyone. Lots of pushing and shoving."
Everyone is quick to judge someones actions on here. All the haters and know it all should put the time, money and effort into getting a car ready for the new season, and then watch all of that be gone in a snap (5 laps).
That's racing. I know it. Matt knows it. the car will be fixed, and Matt will be back out there, the only difference is the next time He passes the 8 car he will make sure he gives him 4 lanes.
Is that confusing?

I went back and read threw.... Noone on here actually said anything about him punching someone untill gerstner came and said that he did not hit anyone.... I am not goin to comment on matt hitting anyone.... but what i am goin to say is i feel whatever he did is justified! The belle clair officals are way too corrupt and on a power trip and have been for at least the last 20 years! If your friends with them you can break all the rules you want and never get punishment! if your not you dont have to break any rules and they will find some way to make your experiance at the races a bad one! Just my .02 and experiance from going to belle clair
 
I look at it this way.........track was rough. Always is at any track on the first night especially with the wetness we have had. Hard racing. Cars were bouncing alot. To call Bob a washed up has been........well that is something that shouldnt be said. If he has the ambition and the money to race..........you nor i can demand him to quit. If his skills have diminished to the point where he cannot drive......he would know. He was not the only one running 2 lanes. Not the only one indeed. I feel for Matt and that is a hard deal to take but it happens and you gotta get over it. Let Matt and Bob work it out. And for Bob to come over and say he was sorry.........do any of you think that would have been a good idea with all the stuff that was going on??Hot head pit guys not to mention a driver who wasnt happy. Really to be honest.......sometimes the pit guys make things 10 times worse than it really is or.....was.

Someone said he punched an official and i read it. but its gone now. To be honest......i would have been hot too but i tell you what.........years ago i got into a baaaaaaaaad wreck and flipped 3 times. Most was due to a guy running in front of me hittig the other car for 2 laps straight and i knew it wasnt going to be pretty when a wreck happened. I tried to avoid it.....got caught on my rr by another car and off i went. Was i mad??Yep!! Did i fly over to the other person who caused it all...nope!

Alrite dustin i aint hiding behind anything ill tell anything to anyones face! i put my name on here! if you got a problem with me come effin tell me!!!! I saw what i saw friday night and what i saw was bullsh!t.... It would be one thing if we didnt have a problem with geaschel before too! But we did! Along with ron jerrell another older guy that had no talant to begin with i try to keep my mouth closed but sometimes its hard! But im gonna tell you rite if you have a problem tell me you know how to find me or get my number! Dont talk sh!t about me on here! Come see me!
