Bogus Mini-stock Rule

obviously

yeah Smurf, WHY??
Randy he is dodging this question, he's only got about twelve pintos and 6 or seven mustangII cars to choose from. Maybe its the thrill of not having all the spare chassis parts you could possibly need ;) oh well guess we will have to waite till Monday for his answer.

I think you're right AND it's a good excuse not to race(no parts, can't race).........;)
Maybe I should hook up with him on some of those cars and just go ministockin' again. :D

1) 15 inch tires look okay on a fox body
2) rims if I run 13's I have no extra rims or tires(got any jon?)
3) I got extra parts for both
now jon I ony have 12 pinto's and 1 mII parts car I let you buy all the mII's didn't I :) but I think I'll start getting parts together for it soon

well ....

doe run raceway allows after market rollers, which gives you alot more gain. why not allow after market stock lenth rods, cost is drove up with a roller set up anyway might as well go all out Bobby. you should have left the old rule in for the roller deal$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ;)

maybe this will give you chevy guys a hint

when i raced down at flippen ark. the fastest in the u.s. were there. out of 42 cars, there was 1 toyota and 41 fords. about 25 of them were pinto's. go figure!! the trucks look cool, but you have to quit shooting your self in the foot when you decide to get into the ministock class ;)

i just wish i could afford aftermarket rods! hell i know im not in the winners circle but i have a blast tryin. im just happy that my motor has held up, it has 209,000 mi on a bone stock 2.5 oil leaks and all. it is a good issue but it seems to me that everyone is trying to dollar everyone else out so that guys like me cant afford to run with everyone that has anything worth running!

Why B I T C H about aftermarket rods raising the price of the class, when you got the Ford guys running Esslinger stuff in their engines and DRR gave them adjustable lightweight cam gears and practically everything else they want. Plus ask Bobby about his tear down rule which the way he describes it is blatantly in favor of his favorite drivers that happen to drive Fords! And if you don't know what I am talking about, go and try to protest a Ford persons cyl. head and see what happens to you.

That right there sounds like the original problem. I think if they were left with a stock type cam gear and head then the class as a whole would be a lot more level. And keep the cost down of everyone trying to keep up. But then I guess you pick what you race. I'm just saying that this may be the original problem and now we are trying to even it up some which unfortunately cost $.

umm heads are stock anything they do to a ford you can do to your chevy head it's just a ford you dont have to worry about lifter height push rod height and rocker varible... I'm waiting for somebody to build a toyo and then we will hear a lot's of complaining...

Yeah, but the Chevy guys that I know haven't touched their heads and there is starting to be a lot of chatter about some Ford guys having ported heads. I am not going to get in the middle of any protests, we can leave that to the drivers that think they are getting cheated. They are the ones out of the money if they are being cheated. Being an engine builder, the only thing I would be getting cheated out of would be a possibility of recording another feature win. And those are hard to come by cheating or no cheating. I agree that if somebody starts showing up with a Toyota that you will hear even the Ford guys start to cry. As for me and those I am and will be helping, we are going to keep it legal and see what the rules for next year bring. We still have several tricks up our sleeves and once we get a few things lined out we will start to show some improvement. Hope everybody has a safe and productive weekend.

Smurf...i kinda meant if they were running illegal. I've got a stock head and a head that's not stock for my Chevy.

true joe there is some hidden fast cars somebody hasn't built around here ...them guys in califona got some sweet stuff like the VW scricco

Good car lots of parts

The car i had originally thought about building was a chrysler conquest. They came out with a turbo version and a non turbo version but the main reason was becouse it was independant rear suspension. Could set the car up so much easier for corners and for body roll. they are about the size of the fox body mustangs but they are a solid steel car. The key to them is that it is an american made car but it has the mitsubishi motor in them. Talk about the aftermarket parts for them, WOW.

one I had though about was a merkur turbo 2300 ifs rear but it was a strut front of course I would have to had a non turbo motor:):)

Stock type?

The adjustable cam gear is a convenience........... you can change cam timing with a stock non adjustable gear. As for stock heads? what are they using?

Roller?

From what I gather its the 8 car everyone is worried about. The camshaft he is using is way to mild to take advantage of a ported head.......... The last time I was watching at Doe Run the guy complaining the loudest about Shannon was darting around like he was racing on ICE? Did he have more power than he could use? or was his truck not handling well?
