Decisions

"As far as the multies or mini sprints or whatever you call them, leave them at Doe Run. Its not right to steal someone else's class. Which is usually easier than developing your own."

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

thanx

Hey Bill. Thanx for the info. Didn't know if you had options with your crate motor. You have a nice car. I would'nt change a thing either, except for that stuff you were talkin' about. Holler if you need anything.

Wow this thread looks like fun. I guess I should express some of my opinions. Cheater motors in the b-mods? Come on this is stock car racing, everyone is doing something. The trick is to not get caught. I dont think anyone is flat out flagrantly cheating, the only one I know for sure is the 27 car and he's got what would be considered a little motor. Take his challenge and come down and see for yourself. What makes a car fast is the effort that is put into it. You'd be surprised what a well set up car and a little talent can do with a small motor. Been there done that myself. As far as the classes next season, keep the a-mods. Dont make another bad decision after last season's fiasco. If you have to I guess UMP mods would be better than nothing at all. As far as UMP sportsmen, another bad decision. Those cars that would rather come there instead of Benton, you can have all 5 of them. Dump the crates, too expensive for less than 10 car count. Put all of your effort into promoting the classes that the locals particpate in. As you know this brings out moms dads family etc. Which fills your bleachers. As far as the multies or mini sprints or whatever you call them, leave them at Doe Run. Its not right to steal someone else's class. Which is usually easier than developing your own.

YOU CAN'T OR SHOULDN'T DRAW ANY CONCLUSIONS FROM BENTON. NO CLASS THERE SET THE WORLD ON FIRE AS FAR AS CAR COUNTS GO. THEY DON'T HAVE SPORTSMAN IN THAT AREA AND THE SPORTSMAN GUYS WERE HAVING TO DRIVE TOO FAR TO GET THERE. IF YOU DIDN'T RUN FIRST OR SECOND YOU COULDN'T BREAK EVEN. HIND SIGHT BEING 20/20, YOU CAN'T EXPECT MANY CARS TO SHOW UP KNOWING YOU'LL GO IN THE HOLE UNLESS YOU FINISH TOP TWO. ADD TO THAT THE TIMES GUYS PAY CHECKS DIDN'T CLEAR. THAT DEFINITELY DIDN'T HELP.

I thought I heard Doe Run was considering B-Mods? So would that statment apply to them also or is it only if the shoe is on the other foot type thing?

The class that races at The Rock are actually E-Mods. We are talking about racing B-mods that race at MCS. If the Rock would go to the UMP sanction sportsman and UMP Limited Mods (B-mods) Doe Run will try something different being these tracks are to close to have both being UMP sanctioned. If the Rock is going to sanction UMP I wish someone would hurry up and decide what they want to do. Ipersonnally am the one wanting the MCS B-mod rules at DRR so I can have a track closer and affordable for myself. There are 10-12 MCS legal B-mods that are looking for a Friday nite track to race at. Good luck to the Rock and lets try to work together to help each other with car counts. Kenny

I'm Gonna Say It Again .......

I think that Fredericktown should run the A & B Mods. Also i feel they should check into running the Sportsman. I think that it would be much cheaper in the payout than the CRATES. Not that i didnt enjoy watching them BUT sometimes there was 7 then the next week 4 . That is just not an exciting race between 4 cars. MPO :) And i also beleive that the MULTI's should stay at DRR. When Jeff was here a couple years ago some of the Dwarf guys came down to Terry and Jeff and was complaining..... So, they started running here. Now, i hear rumor that some of the Multi guy are doing the same. **** IT UP AND BE LOYAL TO YOUR TRACK ! You are never going to agree with the judgements but hang in there ! LD

P.S. I think it is funny that Jeff always got accused of trying to stir the pot ( OH< >>>>> and he did ) BUT he is gone and it continues HUMMMMMMMMMMMMM ? ? ? ? ?

B Mods

Kenny if DRR runs Bmods under MCS rules count on another car. I may not be able to make it there every Friday due to work, but I'll make the trip a few times. Also Bill isn't far off on how many tires he used. In the 06 season as an A mod we went through 18 tires. In the 07 season we swithced to b mods and only used up 4 tires( and was upfront almost every night). All 4 where brand new at the beginning of the season. Two got cut and two were worn out. The left front that got cut still had knobbies on it with 4 weeks to go in the season. At MCS you have to run the Emod A's. It's amazing how much tire you can save when the car is hooked up and right.
Thanks,

How about going to Fastrak crates? I know the guys at Montgomery are looking for a fri. night Fastrak sanctioned track to run at in 08.

A Mods

I Think That Getting Rid Of The A Mods Is One Of The Biggest Mistakes That This Track Could Make. The Track Shut Down Because They Were Out Of Money, And Now A New Racing Season There Going To Drop A Money Making Class. This Don't Make Any Sense. There Has Been A Few People Mention That The Crates Were Going To Take The Place Of A Mods Can Someone Please Tell Me Where The Drivers Of The Crates Were When The Track Had A Drivers Meeting To Keep Racing Last Season Becasue They Weren't At The Meeting The Mods Had Almost All The Drivers There And Now There The Ones Going To Suffer. I Feel That There Is A Commucation Problem Bewteen The Owners And There Pr Lady And This Is A Big Problem She Is Doing What She Thinks Is Best For "her Boys" And Not Thinking About The Local Boys That Race There And Tried To Keep The Tack Open Last Year. I Know Of Several A Mod Drivers That When They Come To Race They Bring At Least 6 Or More Paying Fans With Them .. So Can Someone Explain Why They Want To Do Away With This Class. . . .

I absolutly agree 100% with you on your post Parsons. It is rediculous to get rid of the A Mods and bring in 4 Crates ????? And another point ..... Leave the Multis at DRR, that is their Friday night home track. If some of the driver's are having problems, go to Bobby and talk to him ! Don't split the class .... ( i am not dissing the Multis i like to watch them at DRR ) LD ( JMO ) :)

sportsmans

I think the sportsmans would be a good class to watch race. The only thing is what payout do they want. If its the same as the Amods that means the track is paying out a lot of money for 2 good classes, but with good car counts in both classes it would be worth it to pay them. 15 Amods and 15 sportsmans would help the track with the payout alot. I watched them run at pevely and they was fast and there is alot of locals that run that class that would bring in fans . I think it is something that should be looked into real hard.

dwarfs/modlites???

so ... lots of talk about A & B mods but what about the support classes... for example: Dwarf/Modlites.... our car count was actully picking up toward the end of the night with some new faces in the pits from the bluff usuals ... and the idea of running the multi class... there really arent enough of them at DRR last i heard they were only gettin 10-12 cars/night and if you split them up ..... you are gonna have deja vu all over again from the mini stocks which are a great class as long as they stick together.

What about ULMA Late Models?????

You guys want a sanctioned Late Model with the crates, look into ULMA. They have a points fund, traveling circuit, and good rules for Late Models. Just a thought.

Several multi racers are planning on running Power I. Fredericktown isnt a Power I track. They are great to watch, but lets get real......Same for the sportsmen... They had their chance..... Build your classes out of local racers, and affordable classes, not the ones that have to come from 50- 100 miles away. Common sense; it seems to be lacking for most.....
