do i have to be from Highland to get a fair call

highland for the most part is like any other track newcomers have to come in and keep their noses clean sometimes things wont go your way but if you race clean it will pay off, belleville is the same way.getting on here and getting on the officials will not help your cause though.

It should Not Happen A official is one to uphold the rules and not one to break them. They are to set a example not break them . And if it happened then the one that did it should be told to make a apology to the driver they did it to . Along With suspension for a night or let go .

She works in the pit shack in the middle of the track and her husband was in the race with Justin.. She also gave a late model driver an inappropriate gesture last week.

Would it be safe to assume that her husband is the one who drives a Sportsman and a Late Model?

I think if you no me you no i drive clean.i dont take car out. i go to differn tracks because i love to race.i dont plow through cars i pass them.my car didt have a dent in it untell i went to highland.the first night i passed Zobrist for 2nd after the race was over he ran over the front of my car said his brakes went out but you could here him hard on the gas.the kid cant stand to be passed.after the call was made you seen what happen i didt stop to plead my case i left the track.it cost to much money to go to a track and race and get calls like that.they sould have a sign saying NO OUTSIDER

Like i said it does not matter if you are a reg or just a new comer to the track the calls should be fair across the board .

As far as the comment about if you don't like it race somewhere else, is a piece of **** reply
as that don't help fix the problems and sometimes there is a limited places to run at for classes .

I AGREE TOTALLY! HOW DOES A TRACK THINK THEY WILL EVER GAIN CARS IF RACERS THINK WON'T GET TREATED FAIR UNTIL THEY'VE RACED THERE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THERE SHOULD BE NO PAYING DUES TO GET FAIR TREATMENT. ALSO IF ITS TRUE AN OFFICIAL FLEW THE BIRD AT A RACER. HE/SHE SHOULD BE PUNISHED THE SAME AS A RACER WOULD FOR DOING IT TO AN OFFICIAL.

People have way too much money and time in racing at this level. To have this happen to them. If the tracks don't take control of their workers then
there will be a lot less racing going on ,and a bunch more strip malls. In place were there was a race track cause racers wont come there

if u r a racer or not , and u r not liking what u see , or get car beat up on the track, then go somewhere else. highland is going to get enough cars, 2 run every saturday night, no matter if u cry baby fans, or no rough driving racers, r their or not . go 2 MACON AND SEE IF U SEE ANY rough driving, or BELLEVILLE racetrack. u will get the same treatment , the deal is its a small track , and EVERYBODY wants to be in 1st place on the first lap. that cant happen. have a nice day..:)

So the Way to Handel this is to what go somewhere else what a great reply that is , That Fixes It ? Not
It does not matter if you think they are going to get the cars or not Sooner or latter they wont .
The car count is down from what it use to be at highland and at other tracks as well, so your way of thinking is off base , and it will keep dropping if all tracks allow this to happen.
Sooner or latter somebody is going to get hurt but i guess that is OK in your eyes cause it is a small track .
Some stuff happens that is racing but track workers causing problems and other stuff has to stop .

I have come to the conclusion the BBAY62 is just a fan in the stands. The drivers are there to entertain, as he see's it! Their are rules and guidelines that these drivers are to adhere, too! When those rules are NOT enforced or just swept under the pitshack, so to speak. Then I think they have a every right to get mad and blow off steam. As a co-owner of a race car, I can tell you this, it is very frustrating to bring home a car that has to be put back together week in week out, just because someone wants to play dirty, bad slide job, or whatever or getting plowed as in Sams case. Just getting the satisfaction knowing the other driver was reprimanded on the track by an official does bring a little just desserts at the end of the night! Fair is fair and it should stay that way.
I also think if you keep treating driver this way THEY will go away. But if your track is known for being FAIR then they will come back again and again!!! JMO

I normally don't get involved in these discussions but so I will be brief. There are several track running Saturday nights. If you are not happy there, try another track. Come on up to Lincoln. We are always happy to see newcomers.

Highland

I live so close to Highland that I can hear them, but on nights i want to watch racing I find myself filling the car and driving at least an hour. If i want to watch a soap opera I go to Highland. This is a shame because Highland has nice facilities but everyone is right if you are not in their click you get hosed. I used to drive so I know this is true. Highland's car count will drop like it has in the past. Sam I do not care if people like you or not just stay away from Highland or build a car that you like to fix. This place is known for tearing up good equipment even when you are leading. I hate to say it but you may have to drive somewhere else to actually race. The bad part is it is hard to find a good Saturday night track. I have not been to Montgomery county yet but I will be there this Saturday. (Rained out sat) Good luck Sam and I hope you find a good track that is a least fair to the drivers. You will not find this at highland.

last night in the bombers i had my fender all the way up to Zobrist door.I seen him turn left into me like he wanted to block me then he lost it they send me to the back.Charlie you need to grow a set of BALLS make the right calls.

Sam Kizer

It's been like that since I can remember, when we would show up to race
it so political it was a joke and still is and will always be!

Wow -- people sure do like to create their own version of stories. Actually, I stepped out of the booth and pointed to Jason as he crossed the scale. I pointed to my head and put my fist in my hand and pointed back at my head. This gesture was meant to remind him to use his head and not to fight since his temper was flaring. I was afraid he was going to do something stupid he would regret when he calmed down. I was the one who received a nice gesture from Justin Ketrow while he was sitting in his car waiting to scale. I would consider himself lucky that I did not report it to Charlie so action could have been taken. I had absolutely no idea what happened between the 23 and 88 as my back was to the incident. I had nothing to be angry with Justin about -- I just wanted to remind Jason to calm down -- it is just a race. I think fighting is absolutely stupid and I also think getting that upset is just plain stupid. I am as fair as an official can possibly come and I would NEVER make an inappropriate gesture to a driver on or off the track. I am not sure if Justin saw what I was telling Jason and thought that I was encouraging fighting or what -- but he was the one that was inappropriate. I do think it is sad how one "minor" incident (remind you --I did not see it) can ruin a friendship and then grudges are held all year. However, I was upset with a separate incident on the track with different cars -- that is why I went outside to speak with Charlie in the first place. So, in conclusion, I did NOT even know why the tempers were flaring.

As for the gesture to the 6w, yes I did throw my arms up. On a yellow in a Heat race a couple of weeks ago when he was told the position to go into by the cornerman. He had passed 2 cars and the yellow came out. The lap was not complete and he had to go back. He stopped in front of the booth and repeatedly threw his arms up like "what is going on?" I threw my arms up like "what?" I did not realize until after the race what he was so upset about. He did not realize the lap was not completed and that is why he went behind the 2 cars he had previously passed. I really do not think that was inappropriate or I was making "gestures." So, if he or any of his fans thought that I was being rude to him -- I do apologize -- that was not my intention. There are often drivers that stop and are upset about a position -- we recheck our sheets and then send them on their way to their correct spot.

As for giving me a "week-off" or firing me -- it would not hurt my feelings one bit. It is a thankless job where all you seem to do is get bashed on STL racing. I am not going to debate this issue on here -- I just wanted to let everyone know the correct version.

All I'm saying is if it happened then action should be taken. If it was the other way the same should be done . And that if not going to a track is a way to fix a problem then there is not going to be to many tracks around to go to .
Yes i agree highland has always been that way .

From what i have seen most tracks seem to flag the late models and mods different then the bombers and the hornets. like the dont care about them some times. when they should because this is were they make there pit money.with both class have small purses. maybe some of us should chip in and get a black flag for these race tracks. this is why i dont race all the time because if they dont give some of these guys penalties they dont think they do anything wrong.for these people saying if you dont like it go some were else i dont know about you but most of the guys in these class limited money and you know gas prices are crazy most of us are going to the closest palce to race

What I notice is the way the cars are lined up to start a race at Highland. it looks to me like the regulars driver get to start in front in most of the races but it looks like the drivers that don't race there every week have to start in the back half of the race most of the time. It almost looks like they have two deferent pill drawls . On for the every week boys and the other for the once in a while guys . You see close to the same line ups every week there .
