what some of us are trying to say is that..it would be more effiecent for one class to be ump..the car count will sky rocket...you'll see whaley,webber,possiably brian worley...thats some good competition
 
i agree with bud_man. bring UMP to Fredericktown...you wouldnt be disappointed. alot of good cars would show!!!! then we would see a tough IMCA class along with a tough UMP clas as well....i bet salot more fans would show also. look at us bud_man we give them ideas to make more money improve the racing program and no one listens..i dont get it. ah well...whatever. i guess as long as there's racin i'll be alright!
 
well some of us that like seeing great competition such as the UMP mods would love to see them goin at it at Fredericktown. Yeah the Imca mods at fredericktown are great but why not take it a step further and have UMP run there also. It's a definate money maker! You cant honestly tell me you wouldnt like to see Scott Weber or Brian Worley, Shereck, Griffaw and so on flying around Fredericktown. You know it'd be awesome.
 
Like I said it will kool to see the UMPS but I really dont know if some guys will race at THE ROCK in the UMPS.
 
Folks it's really simple... I'm having a hard time getting Denny and Terry together so I'm going to leave it up to you guys to help out. If you want to see racing at the Fredericktown Raceway this year you are going to have to help push the issue. Call Terry at (573) 783-3901 and even if you just get the answering machine tell him how much you want to have the races at Fredericktown this year. He's afraid it's too late now. Denny has contacted me three or four times to try and get the two together but now I need your help in motivating Terry.... This is not BS.... If you want to race at Fredericktown this year you better call Terry and get on his butt right now...
 
come on people...dont ya think fredericktown raceway has come to far to not open for the 05 season and in the future? it's not often that some of us can drive 3 blocks away and see great racing. I'd hate to see it not happening this season. All that work on the track and building and getting new things for the track and all for what? for it to close down in 05??? Two guys that are having a hard time meeting up with each other to get a track opened up for racing is a sad excuse for it to be shut down for the 05 season. I dont see where money could be any problem cause afterall look at all the fan support the track has..the bleachers are usually packed full every friday night and all the drivers who like racing there...not to mention the payout was one of the best around these parts. the track,the racing program and fan turnout will only improve if there's a 05 season, what is there to do really on a friday night in fredericktown????other than softball,or go to a bar??? I'd rather go see great racing then go to some nasty bar and see some ugly fat chick rubbing her ***** up against a pole.and like i said before....if the track is opened for 05, try running UMP mods just for one night like a special show just to see the turnout you'd get. I bet Terry or Denny wouldnt be disappointed. So Terry and or Denny ( i know one of you will read this at least) let's get things going for the 05 racing season at fredericktown raceway. I think alot of people will back me up on this post....cause we all wanna see racing at fredericktown raceway in '05! people back me up on this....tell them you want racin at "the rock" in '05!
 
OK everyone I'll give Terry a phone call and tell him that we all want to see Fredericktown Raceway up and running in 2005 racing season.

Ok everyone, get me up to speed on the situation with the track "possibly" not being open in 2005. I've been away from this board for awhile and would like some info. Thanks! :confused:

THE ROCK will be open in 05 racing season. Right now we need someone to work something out with Denny Keith. If someone like top run THE ROCK they need to call Denny.

Millsey I'm :confused: Is the Rock going to roll or fold??? Seen some fast and good races there in all classes. Thought maybe you had heard some good news. I'll keep checking on here and hope to hear good news.

Why not? Who needs what to make it happen? I've read the previous posts, but I'm still not exactly sure what the root problem is. I'm assuming money is part, probably a large part, of the problem. Whether that means rising track maintenance costs, payouts, ticket prices, or concessions is not so clear. Doesn't seem to be much direct competition with other tracks on Friday nights. Charges of rough driving and biased officiating seem to have been part of the mix, but are hopefully in the past. So what is it that is most threatening the '05 season? Does Denny need more help? Is it just more trouble than he wants to bite off? What specifically can we, the fans, do to help?
 
I'm with you axeman! I'm still not sure also what the "real" problem is. If I were guessing, I'd say lack of funds is most likely the majority of the problem. My only night off work is Friday night and I was looking forward to going to some races this year at "The Rock", but I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I suppose so, Dog. Though I must say I'd hate to see the track sit idle. It went unused for many, many years. Broke my heart. And it seemed like a member of the family was in a coma. I just hope that doesn't happen again. Dirt track racing on Friday night is mom and apple pie to me. Just hope this little slice of Americana doesn't slip away from us.

Well,

In my opinion, I think that The Rock should reopen FOR SURE. My reasioning? Has anyone ever seen any better racing in the modifieds? I have NEVER seen such a good race before than at The Rock in the modifieds. So, that's JMO. Let me know what you all think.​
