that sounds great that you have access to a computer.....but i still think that the rules should read that you have to run the factory software, chips etc. and reprogramming of the factory computer is not allowed.
that is going to be great that the computers will be teched, I just think it shoul be in black and white in the rules!!
 
Just a quick question for all tech guys. If a car has had all unneeded wiring remove how would you check the programming of the computer? Also, I have to agree with mamaduck on his comment that how do the drivers know that the tech guys are qualified to check the computers? not that I do not trust any tech. personally, but the computers and other parts are not cheap.
 
all they have to do is see what cars are running go to any junk yard pick up some computers let the driver remove his computer and plug in the one the tech has and see how the car runs then. I bet alot of them fall to the back or mid pack. good job with the computer problem. and thars or trucks with computers check the cams if doesnt have a oem part# then it shouldnt be there.
 
I cant say that theres not things that wont be hard to catch but when the same car wins or even runs top 5 every night we will eventually catch you. I'M going to do my best to do all the homework I can to return this class to a get it out of the junk yard put a cage in it and race class.

I'm kinda wishing highland was closer. You will see me there a couple times this year. Hope you stick to your word and keep cheating to a minimum.
 
I agree with you crash, but what about that front end of yours,LOL. Just kidding, hope you and the rest of the familly have a Jolly christmas. Tell your dad when he is ready for his car to call and Chris and I will be there.

just becase you run up front every week does not mean your cheating !!!

i am just saying if you got a sports car its going to run better then most . in the hornets if you find the right car you are going to win

but i know rob ewards , he is a good man and if someone is cheating he will catch you he knows his stuff

mama duck what 4 bangers are sports cars .they maybe impact cars not sports cars. sports car are cars with v6s or v8s .if you think saturns and caviliers are sports cars you are full of it like you are full of yourself

I really don't think you know what you are talking about, Rob Edwards is not teching in Highland, Highland has the tech crew voted in.
I think you need to read the Highland Hornet Rules before you reply back about "get a sports car and go win"....... again this is a discussion on how the rules should be written and some sugessitions on handling situations that may, and probably will, arise when racing season starts.

XTREMEGRAPHIX makes a very excellent point, swap out the coumputer with a known good junkyard computer, and lets see what happens.
also, maybe you could switch a computer with a car running the same computer that might be running mid to the back of pack and see what happens, lets see if it will be the car or the driver........

Pate11 or any of the Highland techs,
do you think that the rule can be changed in black and white,
for it to state there should be no reprogramming of the factory computer and no aftermarket chips or software.
 
Pinto Racer 33, there should have to be no black and white rule stating there is no reprogramming of the computer because if you dont know that getting your computer either reprogrammed or have a new EPROM put in the computer. You will be illegal and you wont race at highland until we the tech crew find you legal. Oh yeah and while we are on the subject of computers. I hope all the saturns are hitting there rev limiters next year because if you have a manual transmition car and you are putting an auto trans computer in it THAT IS NOT STOCK FOR THAT MAKE AND MODEL!!!!
 
I keep hearing, move up in class. I support 4 cylinder classes! PERIOD. Joe is right. Find the right car. There is alot of 4-cyl. sports cars our there. I have no interest in shelling out big money forthe fuel and tires that it takes to run the v-8 classes. Let people run headers and a little bit of performance parts, and we will turn laps about like a sportsman car. And it will still be alot cheaper.
 
Expowermech.....that sounds awsome!!! you are absoluetly correct:D hopefully no one will be changing their manuel trans rev limiter to an automatic....I for one want to hear some of these cars reach their rev limit!!
Chargin chuck... I don't get it....youo must race with fast joe... I really think you need to read the Highland rules before you rrply....I mean unless you were at the rules meeting I really don't know what youo are replying for:confused:
hornet66....I see what you are saying, but I just don't think that fast joe and chargin chuck really know what they are replying for....until they race at Highland Speedway, I really don't think their reply means nothing:rolleyes:

i have to work on fridays so highland is were ill be raceing so i thik the rules are good for this class might get it back to factory

OK, I may not know EVERYTHING about cars, but I do know that make and model means.....ex. Saturn,(make) SL1 or SL2(model) nothing about manual or automatic. That is just personal choice. Wouldn't any race car driver or anyone with common sense would understand that.:eek: So way would that be illegal??? Plus why do you have it out for the Saturns. Last year they only maybe won a handfull of races to begin with. What about the Grand Am's or the Cavliers or whatever else is raced??
I also agree with Mamaduck just because you are winning a lot or running top 5 doesn't mean you're cheating!
 
I just thought I would throw the computer thing out there about the saturns because I wanted to see what kind of replies i would get from it. I am on the tech team and i want to see what people think about it. I am all for swapping stock oem parts from model to model and trying to get the most out of these cars, thats what makes it fun. I just want to get everyone on the same page that way everone knows what the tech team is going to look for, because I am doing my home work on these different cars.
 
I think the real problem is people need to quit there b*tching at the track. Every race last year was competitive and then people who get 2nd or 3rd start b*tching whenever someone beats them. So the tech guy DQ's everyone competitive but his son, then he blows everyone out of the water and the season is over with your new hornet champion. If everyone would have kept there mouth shut and just raced and tried to work on there cars to get a better competitive edge then races would be better on the track. I dont care who you are in any form of racing there is going to be cheating, I know late model drivers that cheat to get an edge. Racing is also about money, whoever spends the most is going to win. Sure everyone wants there cinderella story and try to win with a junkyard car and out drive everyone but its not going to happen. The worse thing about it is it isnt the teenagers that are *****ing its the 30-40yr old drivers and I will testify to that and you know exactly who you are.
 
I don't think it matters if your are 30 - 40 years old or 14 - 30 years old. CHEATING is CHEATING period!!!
I think that everyone should be on the same playing field going into the 2007season, not special provision because of who you are.
