Did the end of the bikini girls era somehow happen to coincide with TTG's leaving Highland for Pevely? ;)

Remember when he used to wear cowboy boots to the races? Not anymore. :D

Steve Carson always had a sharp Sportsman(Black&Gold) Do you remember Faust and Korte blowing engines on a regular basis trying to win the 1989(I Think?) Mod Title?

Sellers drove Petroff's car before Gundaker. After he drove Petroff's car he drove for Larry Gould which is the red car in Rich's picture.

Petroff sold the SuperFly car to Jeff Johns, who after racing it for a year or so sold it to Jr. Paule.
THX, gettin old you know.;)

after races

Now this is when i was 7-8 years old(46 now) but I remember always going to Carl's Tavern (later becoming Buffalo Brewing) on broadway for fried chicken....he had the best in town,( i think he was an offical at the track to) hell i remember never being able to get into the bathroom. I thought the whole race track was always there(didnt know L & M was)....also at that time over the years my dad and uncles owned a race car there (#22)and a Johnny Pryor,Butch( i think) Hannigan, and i do beleive Len Bumgartner drove for them also.... My grandma used to sit and keep the records( time trials, heats, features) for her own reason ( i used to think she was nuts) but she has passed on, but if she was still here she whould be the best at anything you all wanted to know....probuly looking down at us now saying yep your right, nope your not,you dont have a clue what your talking about.....anyway i bet she is loving this thread....R.I.P. Grandma Morrow

I remember they used to plow up the track right after the races.I think the guy on the tractor was named or called Frenchy or something like that. That and stomping on those paper cups.LOL

You beat me to the "Frenchy"question. I stomped my share of those paper cups, too.:D Do you remember when Brownstown and Highland were sister tracks? WED/SAT?:D

Time Trials

When they used to have t/t and the 8th & 9th place cars I believe started on the front row. Rick Kloos had the feathering of the gas pedal just right he used to always start on the front row.

They actually inverted the top eight and Kloos was one of several drivers that were good at consistently qualifying seventh or eighth so they could start on the front row of the feature. I thought about this when they were talking about the invert rules for other shows on the Bloomquist interview thread.
