Highlands bomber brake check

brakes

Whats the difference if there going 50mph or 20 .As long as the wheels lock up.Thats all there looking for.

Because, by the laws of physics, how fast you are going effects the distance it takes to stop and the force required to bring an object to a stop (ie, how strong your brakes have to be to stop within a certain distance)

more advice to Prego: Instead of talking about it on here, jack up the back of the car, pull off the drums, sand down the drums and shoes, adjust them tight. Then take off the left front caliper and sand the rotor and pads. Then get your dad to help you bleed the brakes to check for air bubbles. Then top off the resivoir. Then in hot laps Saturday be the first car lined up and fly on the track and spin it around under the flag stand.

Jimmy, I thought bleeding the brakes was a Mom's job, like it is at our house. I know how to do that, Perigo, so I could help you.

Just drive faster when you do a brake check, and stomp on the brake--you'll spin real pretty if you got brakes!

P.S. The fans just love the brake checks!

Brakes checks are a good idea. I have to admit it didn't look like Perigo had brakes. Also interesting is to find out both Hewitts have brakes. Now we know they just don't use them.

brake check

I failed a few brake checks before and had the stock drum brakes that worked pretty well. I was fed up with the constant upkeep and so so performance and just went to discs in the rear. that was one of the best changes i made to the car and also, i never failed a brake check again. just my two cents.

He just drove off the track and revved his motor up a bunch going thru the pits. Prego has still never started a feature at Highland..................

Jimmy, why do you want to get on here & bash Corey?

Cory, I help bleed the brakes in the pickup truck, not the race car. Jimmy wasn't home, so Mom had to help. This is a racing family thing here, and I help out when needed and asked. Been bleeding brakes since the 1970's for Bruce. At least I get the easy job! :D

I know for a fact the 77 car has good working brakes! To take him out and allow the 25 car to remain was absurd since the 25 car did a lot worse than the 77! We will make a decision later this week whether we will even be back to Highland! If we go race somewhere else I will also take the 15 to 20 people that come to watch us race! Good move Charlie!!?

Hey Racer13T has been trying to gett you guys to come down to TCS all year. The track is always great and the racing is exciting........
26 street stocks in the feature and all in all was a clean fast race.
Come on down and give it a try. Seen alot of Godfrey cars there Saturday and they all had a good night of fun and racing.

A car that has good brakes to me (in my opinion only), does not need to slide sideways. I have 4 wheel brakes on my car so I CAN stop better. My car will not slide sideways if I stomp the brakes, it comes to a stop, with ALL 4 Wheels sliding. Maybe this is why I can't understand the point of sliding the car to a stop sidways. I like to have control over my car. Brake checks should be done mandatory at ALL race tracks. I hope it happens at my home track real soon, so I can feel safe while racing.

lmao pinkbird adjust the brake or sumtin if they kick him off obviously there was sumtin rong and no the 25 did not get a second try when he went around the 29 car was still on the backstretch so get ur heads out ur Aces and pay attention to the race track i think the brake checks is the best idea anyone has ever had would u like to be a car sitting on the back stretch with motor dead having a guy flying right at u with no brakes?? just my ? for u

Hey Sean, that comment was meant as a joke. I talk to Prego every night in that chat room and was giving him a hard time. get over it.

just because someone has brakes doesn't mean that they use them in a race so brake checks are some what unimportant to me.

This Is My Last Comment About This Thread, Our Car Has Brakes, Alot Better Then Most Cars Running That Feature. Im A Good Enough Driver To Control My Car When I Slam On My Brakes And Can Stop Just As Good As Someone With 4 Wheel Brakes. That Has Nothing To Do With Any Of This. I Have Seen Cars With 4 Wheel Brakes Fail Break Checks Many Times Just Ask The 97 Of Matt Mortland. I Do Not Believe That It Was Done On Purpose, I Do Believe It Was A Bad Call And The Officals Made The Decision After I Was Pointed Back To The Front Straight That I Didn't Have Good Enough Brakes. The Flag Man That Was Calling The Brake Check Told Me That He Didn't See If My Rear Wheels Locked Up Or Not And My Left Front Locked Up A Little Late. My Point Was If They Were Not Sure The First Time They Should Of Sent Me Around Again So They Can Make A Better Decision On Their Part. I Could Put On A New Master Cylinder, Pads And Rotors, Bleed Them 100%, And They Would Not Be Any Better Than They Are Now.

That Being Said, We Will Make A Decision On Where We Race On Saturday Nights. I Am Really Out Of The Points Race At Highland And During The Features It Is One Groove Follow The Leader Racing, Which Is Not Very Fun To Do, I Would Rather Travel Around And Get Some Seat Time At Different Tracks Or Seat Time In A Sportsman For Next Year. I Like The People At Highland And We Have Sponsors In Highland So I Like To Give Them The Reconition For Their Support. It Was A Bad Call By Officals If They Wern't Sure I Should Of Been Sent Around Again. If Still Was Not Suffice Then I Do Not Belong On The Track Until It Gets Fixed. I Just Got Screwed By A Bad Call And It Has Happend To Everone And Will Happen Again Im Sure. Good Luck To Everyone This Week And I Will See Ya Where I See Ya, Im Going To Work On The Car!!!!!!!!! It Needs Some Sheet Metal Work And Fresh Earl!!!! Lol

P.S. BOMBER BOY I HAVE SAT ON THE TRACK AND WATCHED A CAR PLOW ME DUE TO NO BRAKES. WE HAVE BRAKES AND DO NOT NEED TO ADJUST THEM, SO RE-READ THE POST AND GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ACE SAVVY??????
