Inside the pits at i55

Ray Marler is anything but a fight promoter: Why don't you call him and talk to him share your concerns cause he does not get on here like most think? Has anyone on here talked to Randy K or Ray W and asked what the deal is ? Sometimes the shortest distance is a straight line : go to the source : cut to the chase : unless you want to be thorn on the rose :)

Now I think your prediction of what will ensue if no suspension is handed down is quite an exaggeration. I have been going to dirt races for quite a long time. I can count on one hand the number of MELEES I have witnessed during the hundreds of nights of racing I seen. Any driver or crew member who would want to try his luck during a situation based on the out come of another is not very bright. Most instances are stopped before they ever get started anyway. So no I don't think Ray Marler is a fight promoter. Remember, you can be subject to the same punishment for fight at a race track as you can be for fight on the street, if the person in which you assault wants it that way. So my suggestion is for everyone to use their heads and handle it in another way.

somebody please post it cuz with the place loaded up with pro-4's and the like , i'll be somewhere else watchin paint dry

I don't get why your bringing in the Pro-4's to this...that night we had 18 cars...i don't call that "loaded up." Stick to the class/drivers/pit crew your all discussing, and leave the Pro-4's alone... we didn't cause the trouble that night.

I have gone to the source. My prediction will be a fact. Maybe not this weekend, but before the season is over, trust me. I've already heard 3 drivers state that fact. They refuse to hold back if the green flag has been waived. I think they'd gladly pay a fine and race the next week and be able to settle their differences at the race track. Those same drivers wouldn't have thought about it before hand because they didn't want to be suspended...now it's fair game. What is Ray Marler if he condoned fighting at his race track with out suspension? Please enlighten me? No one went to jail last weekend....

It's pretty crappy that it just depends on "who you are" as to your punishment or lack there of at Pevely. Also shows the type of class act that the Gundakers are. They are fair and consistent.

When he said "loaded up", I think he was referring to this weekend when they'll be allowing the DOHC guys from Illinois to come race. I think Highland is closed for the county fair.

Really? I saw one of the Heck boys try to kick in Bobby Dauderman's car ON THE TRACK and all three were racing the next week. That was earlier this year. I think it was at the USMTS show

For the record, Dauderman was at fault in that wreck and it atleast appeared intentional. That still doesn't excuse what happened.

For those of you who own or manage a business, do you not give more leniency to your most productive employess than you do your least productive? Of course you do because your most productive people make you more money. The same thinking applies here too.

I was at Tri City last year at the end of the year where they were turning in the recievers and there was a huge melee there that night as well between Heck boys and someone else! Come on the grass is not always greener on the other side of the river. I never heard Ray condone this- so Do Not go there! Ray and Tammy and Kevin try to do their best when dealing with children over 18 - not all decisions will make everyone happy! Obviously there is only 1 thing they can do to make you happy. Other than that I guess it's a slam job! Just go out there and tear everyones stuff up and feel better about life!

Anyone going to Pevely Sat. night thinking that at the drop of the green flag Randy and Ray are going to start banging on each other will be disappointed.

It was a racing deal that happened last week, some rough driving took place and tempers flared, thats racing, there may be bad blood for a long time, and if they get next to each other neither one is going to give an inch but neither one will go off looking for trouble.

No, I don't think Walsh or Korte will be the ones looking for trouble, but I do think that Ray Marler has created trouble by not punishing these guys. I heard that Allied wanted to be fair and issue the suspension but it was Ray's call to let them race. I'll just put that out there.

As to the statement about more productive employees getting better treatment....come on. If you have owned your own business you know that wouldn't work, either. You would have a ******* and people wouldn't show up to work....just like people should think twice before racing at I-55 in the future. If you're not a "big dog" then your punishment will be swift and heavy. It doesn't matter if you have been a loyal racer and raced there for 20 years, if you aren't the big dog you don't matter to Ray Marler. Prove me wrong Marler lovers?

I've been a loyal fan of I-55 for over 10 years...that has ended. I'm sure Ray's 1 less fan doesn't mean anything to him, either, but more will follow suit. Karma! I will find another race track to support who appreciates every fan and every driver no matter who you are or what you drive or how many wins you get, or how many fans you put in the seats.

And Dirt Girl, sorry to disappoint you but not everyone is in love with Ray Marler. I am completely disappointed in his decision as are many others that don't read or post on this site. I'm sure there are a lot of fans such as yourself. We can agree to disagree, but I WILL go there. If he didn't suspend them, he ABSOLUTELY condoned it.

This post has almost 10,000 views in 6 days. Maybe Ray Marler ought to become a fight promoter instead of a race promoter, he probably be a multi-millionaire if he did.

GOTDIRT, get real.

It seems all you want is to dish out punishment to someone. If you know anything about dirt racing or stock car racing in general you would understand that this is a very physical, emotional and yes sometimes a rowdy sport, thats what makes it what it is.

People in this sport don't always play nice in the sandbox, some smoke, drink, talk a little rough and act a little rough sometimes, but in the end its generaly just one big family.

Maybe you would be more happy finding another less rowdy sport to watch.

I'm aware that fighting, etc will happen. What I'm not pleased about is the way it's handled. The punishment needs to be the same no matter who you are. If there is never a punishment, then so be it, but if there is going to be a punishment for some drivers and not others because of who you are...that's where I draw the line.

I think it has more to do with how much of a problem that person is or has been in the past, was there any justification for a persons action and was it related to an actual racing deal or just an overall bad attitude.

Everything is not always black and white, there are sometimes shades of gray, and actually there a couple of Allied Officials that need to understand that as well.

It was pretty clear cut what happened Saturday on the infield. If you're going to suspend someone when they don't lay a hand on anyone, just for having words, and you won't suspend other drivers for an all out brawl....well...somethings off?

Yep! That is right on.

I think gottaluvit and gotdirt? are the same person or from the same camp. Them seem to sure be pressing for a certain somebody to be suspended. I guess they want to try and help their obvious favorite win a championship. Not gonna happen!!!! Don't wish away the competition beat them!!!!!

Dang you guessed it! I have no clue who gotdirt is, but if the conspiracy theory works, then use it:rolleyes: I love watching Walsh race, he is amazing. I have nothing against him at all. Korte is obviously one of the best around. The rules just aren't the same for everyone.

Predictions Anyone?

My prediction is that there wont be a penalty handed down and there will be more than average attentance this sat night and more than average rough driving. This maybe one of the reasons Ray is such a great promotor, most of the race fans are also love a good fight mostly on the track but this has built more riverlies with Korte jumpin down the the mod class, Ray jnows how to put people in the stands and he may have seen the fight for what it was $$$$$$, for him and Kenny anyway. But with this deal it mayget a bit rougher on the track because of the drivers pushing the envolope a bit, after all the are a buch of drivers out the that are pertty roughto there fellow racers (wont put any names out there but you know who you are). if it does get rougher then more fan will come. Me i come for the race, ever lap is like the checkered for me, love to watch them handle a car. For me its not that hard to pick the guys out that need the hole tracl to fish 10 in the big show. i been going to races for 37 years i think it is (but still cant spell LOL) and its always been this way, even with old Donny Klien I have seen him put the slip job on a few and not back down from someone trying to get in his face. but i cant recall him ever doing what Korte did to Ray. Back to the track no matter if there is a penalty or not i think the word has gottin around enough that more will come to see what its all about, i even talked about the fight at my local baber shop and they was all excited to hear thing were gittin rough here in town, so mi point is there is a dark side to this and a sunny side to it, just depends were ya sit. but personly i think the rulse should be like it was years ago, both driver should sit out for a week, but it that doesnt mean Korte should still get to race his LM there ether LOL:D
