Its Official: Montgomery Motorsports Park will open in 2014

Thanks for the compliments, working on therapy for Jim. lol
Rules are same as the UMP Dirtcar MARS series. Which allows the wrsD55 at all shows.
It was the same way when I ran at I44 when it was dirt.

Do you know if the mods are going to only be able to run the A's and H's? This is what every track in the St. Louis area runs and it is actually what MMP ran when they were open 2 years ago. Any payout info for the mods yet? I plan on racing there this year but can't make your meeting this Wednesday. That is why I am asking these questions now. Thanks for any input you might have.

Zeke. By ya some 20s then. We will have someone selling them for sure. But honistly ya really only benefit with them in the heats and then only if its the perfect conditions. I think I had the most success with the wrs 55 tire in the mains anyway so if you dont want to buy 40s you can keep your tire expenses down and still keep the most tire options your needing for both ulma and mmp. We are going to look at mlra too, they were interested a few months ago so we will pursue that lead.

If enough come from the west and help convince Jim now its possible. But I dont want to effect Moberly too much either. And having ump as an option in the area is still a good idea, at least for now. I have gotten a LOT of stl racers liking the usra idea. There is still a lot of time before March but we wanted this set in stone by December 7th. Come out for the meeting on Wednesday and voice opinions.

You have to have a membership to run usra also an bunch of different options / rules for different motors just look into things before you cast your vote make sure it's going to fit your program it will fit my program either way but if you don't have 23 degree heads you have to add weight

Yep I know that. People out this way know it I guess it's good you mention it so stl area racers know it. Thanks for bringing that up.

I saw quiet a few guys from west of MMP come to the STL area to run UMP shows last year.

Not to mention the mods at Callaway have been UMP for the past few years.

Doesn't UMP have a membership fee as well? If a lot of stl guys are liking the USRA rules then I would go with USRA, Just simply for what they do for the track, they provide a tech person, they provide a point fund as well. If Fulton is thinking about going USRA then this might be the time for the 2 tracks to work together and build car counts at both tracks. If you go with USRA rules you could even bring in the USMTS for some big shows. I really think the best bet would be USRA mods and UMP lates.

Problem is callaway is switching to usra. Talked to the family and let them know we will probably stay ump if they do. And most likely ump this year regardless. They were supposed to put out an official press release on their Facebook page. But I haven't seen it yet. So maybe they are reconsidering?

run sportsman and race on Friday or sunday grantie had us 3 nights and had a average of 20 cars what more do u want in a support class
AND YOU DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP FOR THOSE SHOWS HOMAN10 SO WHY THE OPINION I FOR ONE GOT TIRED OF ONLY HAVING ONE PLACE TO RACE SO I AM PUTTING A MOD TOGETHER

Callaway says there getting away from UMP. average car count was about 11. Highest was 15 I think. Being the only UMP track left this direction, it killed the class (among other things). You might as well count Callaway as gone, without major changes wich no one expects, they wont get there cars back. As far as a press release on there facebook page, good luck, Id be very suprised if anything was ever posted.

I understand UMP latemodels, only other option is ULMA that I know of, and there probably to involved with Moberly. USRA really needs to be considered for A mods. As far as cars from this area going east? I can think of 1 that did it on a regular basis and 5 that went to a couple special shows, I could be wrong on that.

There were a few more than that that went east. But we will see, depends on who wants to run the big half mile or not. Only way to know for sure is try it. Callaway I just dont understand they got a great fun track but run everyone off.

Class and sanctioning is always a big decision. When I was considering usra for Belle-Clair two things keep me from it. 1. The memberships were higher and 2. the sanctioning fee was based on car count. there was a nightly base fee and then so much per car. They tout a track point fund but I found that basically the sanctioning fee's I paid would have almost paid the entire point fund. They were however tossing some extra money to promoters to sign a long term contract with them.
Good luck with whatever you choose but the main problem we all have is getting fans to the track on a weekly basis and i'm not talking about the ones that come with the cars. If you look at events other than the major races every one is struggling and I do mean everyone.
