locked front end vs. TRACTION CONTROL

......................

well when the last big race at tri city ..i talked to kevin on the phone and ask him about locked trannies and he told me he was not checking them he did not care ...so now you all know why fish was not checked .... well the promoter said it dint matter ...jmo..jmo.. fastjoe e always enjoy racing with all the guys from I-55, especially Chris. You have noted that a locked front end is far better than an open one. Tri-City’s rule is no lock diffs so we run ours open, which in your theory puts us at a disadvantage compared to a car that is locked. My offer still stands; Chris can come by and pick out any one of my cars to race Tri-City.:)[/QUOTE]

Hey jason

was wondering, I bet your going over both cars this week with a fine tooth comb checking for loose wires arent ya. and im gonna hold ya to our agreement on payment for working on your car saturday night :D. As far as fast cars, dave heinrichs neon from back in the day was probably the fastest pro 4 i have ever seen. i raced against him myself. i dont think there are any cars even today that could run with that thing. any pro 4 that would rip the center out of a rim while entering a corner is flat out hauling the mail. that and the fact i never heard it hit the rev limiter, but the blue flames shooting out the back from the tail pipe when he let off was neat to watch when he was lapping people.
i look at it like this, running up front or in back, as long as there are people racing close to where i was at, i had an absolute blast. me, scott geary, and rob denny ran s-10's at the same time and we ran door to door alot of nights mid to front of the pack and was running 3 wide through the corners and down the straightaways, never won a heat race or a feature at pevely, but i had more fun with those 2 guys then anything. oh well, the memories.... enough rambling, i gotta get back to work.

Yes Joe you are correct! At Tri-City's big shows they open up the rules because there are some tracks that allow locked front ends.
