MCS Closed For Season

Due to the economic downturn and circumstances beyond our control, Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence, MO has chosen to cease operations for the remainder of the 2009 racing season.

The drivers that were to race in the 3 makeup features will receive a refund of their entry fee in the mail.

Montgomery County Speedway would like to thank the fans and drivers who have supported the facility since the tracks opening in 2001.

It's horrible to see a good little track like that go to waste, Hopefully the re-open next season...

My guess would be it has more to do with payouts than noise & dust.

Thats really a shame that they have shut down. I have raced there a handful of times in the past 2 years and have really enjoyed myself every time that i went there to race. All the of people whether it be fans, drivers, or officials were always very nice. I think the location of the track is what is really bad too. If that track was say 30 - 40 miles closer to the st louis area i feel like it would be a great success. The low payout was totally understandable though too. Can't pay $300 to win when you only have 5 cars. Hopefully the track opens in 2010 but that to me is iffy. Sorry to hear about the closing.

Refunds

What about refunds for those of us that paid for our pit passes on Saturday before the cancellation?

yeah me and my brother need our pit pass money back for 7/11.
im planning on getting in contact with someone to insure i get my 60 bucks back cant afford to be giving them free money when i didnt race.

this is really sad mcs is and was a great track nice people and staff i loved it everytime i drove 2-1/2 hours to race there i really hope mel can get things up and going again. Tony moore #3

you know who you are,you act tough on here,like to see you get in mel's face and act like a bad ax..do you think this is what he wanted when he put his life's blood into building his dream track,i think not..now some of you get on here and act like punks demanding a refund,i understand it is due you but be civil to a guy that gave a bunch of ingrates a place to race
