yeah........and melvin is such a good clean racer just like his TEAMATE ding dong korte. give me a freakin break. melvins an *** and drives like one.

we need more people like voigt on the track everywhere to teach dickbrains like them 2 how to drive and not screw everyone on the racetrack

CrzyfanX, The number of posts on that you have posted on stl web site, leads me to believe that you are not being honest. I was also there, and I saw it just the way Rick Heck said. How times this year has Voight ran over Melvin? how many times does he have to put up with this cr@p? voight, got kicked out of Highland, & Belleville also. He has beat and banged on every car at godfrey

This makes me sad , I've been a friend Of Mark's since I was nine. I Had my name on his car an was proud , on his Highland race car an miss the old days . This aint Mark Voigt mabe his new Crew not likke HR an Kevin an all The folks that helped in the old days . Mark get back to what you do best OK, Scott

Alot of he said she said I seen this I seen that..................BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
One thing to remember is that (usually) its not the drivers fighting, its the crews or fans. Melvin came to Voigts trailer. Does anyone diagree? Rick Heck came to Voigts trailer. Does anyone disagree? Rick Heck allowed his son and his wife to come to Voigts trailer. Does anyone disagree? There was another driver there. What was his name oh oh let me see OH OH.........well anyway, He also came to Voigts trailer. Does anyone disagree?
Now for one thing I dont think that a fight is a good place to bring women and minors. The other thing is for example, if you are arguing with your next door neighbor across the fence you are pretty safe but when you jump the fence you are probably going to get bit by his dog.
If everyone would have stayed in there own pit stall, none of this would have happened. Racetracks are for racing and fighting is for the hockey game. If one person was arrested, everyone involved should have been. Even that one guy.........oh oh ...OH OH well I'll think of his name during the late show with the big monkey climbing the buildings.

AND THE HITS JUST KEEP ON COMING...

I think UMP is gonna have a lot of fun sorting this thing out. with all the he said/she saids. I do agree that whoever is involved should be suspended and fined. no favors to anyone. Rules are Rules not guidelines. most people bring families to these races and what kind of impression is anyone making when a fight breaks out or temper flair. were suppose to be adults. I do believe Rick when it comes to protecting his kids and family. also he is a big man, what other reason would he have for getting on the ground, I cant see many being able enough to put him there. but also Rodney should have put his temper in check and not put others in jeopardy like he did. this also goes for the Voigt crew. all were at fault at one point or another including Korte. but this is just an observation from all the inputs.
As I have told my kids and employees, "If you can't use your head for more than a hat-rack, you might as well have two A**holes"

but again this is just an observation. for what its worth.
PS: I was at the track too.

Well i am no huge voight fan but everyone knows rodney is one of the dirtiest drivers around and he thinks he should get the Mt. Melvin treatment everywhere he goes! and it doesnt happen that way thank goodness! The whole thing saturday night on the track was started by melvin! His family was all up in the stands mouthing and saying mean things! and cursing at other ppl! They are the rudest most abnocious ppl i know!and as far as the deal in the pits i dont car what happened if one driver is sent home they both should have been sent home and melvin shouldnt have came into voights pit anyways because then none of this would have happened!( and yes chad zoberist was driving like an idiot he tried taking frankie martin faust and a few others out! Melvin is a good driver i will give him that! but he would get alot more respect if him and his family and friends do something to deserve some! And as far as voight goes i mean come on the man is also an arca driver and i have never seen him lose his cool there! I think alot of these other drivers just drive so crazy u cant help but lose your temper at some of them cuz they r really gonna hurt someone! And CONGRADULATIONS TO FRANKIE MARTIN ON WINNING HIGHLAND GOOD JOB MAN SORRY I COULDNT MAKE IT!

By reading those UMP rules...I know for a fact that Kathy (the B-town pit stewardess) was called a F'in Bia by "the girl" that came from Melvin's pit stall. Now, shouldn't Melvin be suspended for a week for that?? And since Voight's crew fought, shouldn't they be suspended for a week??? Plus the fines that need to be handed out. UMP better get this right!!

If UMP don't suspend Voight and Melvin, it just blows their credibility. UMP MUST react to this.

Melvin should get more for going over to Voight's pit.

Also, Heck's kids should find a seat in the stands.

14& 15 year olds do not belong in the pits!

Anytime you go to somebody else's pit you are the instigator. First move should have been to a track official if they had a problem.

I agree millsey!
the first complaint should've been to an official!! then sort it out after that.
second. If there was a situation brewing, why were there kids in the middle.
A grown man should never punch a minor, but what caused the punch. Why would a guy just up and punch a kid. wheres the paul harvey on that one.
finally- If everybody would've stayed in there own pits, this wouldn't of happened.
anyway---wish I would've paid the 25 bucks for this one.

Blame the RIGHT People!!!

It is so easy to do this "He did", "He said", "She did", "She said" thing that its almost sickening!!! I DO KNOW that Randy Korte is at the bottom of this whole mess. Maybe he should learn to keep his mouth shut where it doesn't concern him because for years, he has gotten away with more crap than anyone. He went to Melvin in the infield and then when they all got to the pits, All heck broke loose!! Wasn't it convient for Korte to be standing back about 20 feet shooting his mouth off AGAIN!!! I really can't believe someone hasn't thumped on him and quieted his mouth??? But I'm sure it will happen someday because the odds are against him!!! TRUST ME!!!!! Leave things alone that don't concern you Randy!! Oh yea???? How was your practice session at Brownstown Friday night??? Did it go well since there weren't any Late Models racing???
I do know as an old racer that if someone came to my pit area that I WILL defend myself and if you are out numbered you do what you have to do!!! I think that EVERY track promoter should set rules that if you are not at least 16, stay out of the pits!!! Also, when a parent takes his child to the pits, he signs a waiver that says he or she is responsible for that child. Someone better wake up and smell the coffee!!!!! Let the kids go to the grandstands and watch!!!
Mark Voigt has raced for 25 plus years and has a lot of respect with a lot of people. But when you push his buttons, he is NO DIFFERENT than anyone else!! Someone pushed his button by slamming his fist on the roof of his car and calling names.....WHAT WOULD YOU DO???? I will support you totally Mark and I hope UMP see this thing for what IT REALLY IS?????
A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!

Not sure what happened in the pits but I did see the racing. I thought that Voigts right side looked pretty rough prior to the start of the heat race. After the race started I knew why. He's a good driver but he needs to stop leaning on the guy to the right. I wouldn't think that UMP has an 8 tire rule for late models therefore all the drivers should be using the 4 they have and not someone elses too.

The modified incident in which Lenhardt flipped really bothered me though. Vickers was also leaning and I even said outloud, "careful Dean". But what got me was the obvious move made by Schwartz (i think) was upset me. I understand his frustration with Vicker's move but why jeopardize the entire field by spinning a car while out in front. Ed got the bad end of that one. Just lucky for everyone that no one was hurt! I wouldn't have liked to been Schwartz if anyone had been hurt cause of that manuever.

Let me end my rambling on a high note. Set aside the leaning and fighting that occured Fayette County puts on one heck (pardon the pun) of a good Late Model show. I've been there twice now for late models and have seen an excellent track both times with great racing all the way around. I really enjoy the facility, the enviroment, the food, and the stands! I love sitting under the roof there and hearing the echo of the cars during qualifying. Wish every track had grandstand like these or the ones at B-ville! Hope to be back later for more Late Models at B-town!!!!

Melvin / Korte - Voigt

After reading all of the replies, I thought I would say something. I am confused about Hicks' reply. After reading it several times it didn't make sense to me. A critical thinker takes everything into mind and thinks it through and we can all tell by Hecks' view of the situation that he didn't think it through. He claims that he laid on top of his son to protect him as the guys beat the hell out of him and his son. But later in his story he watched as his wife was punched and he watched a guy beat now both of his kids for up to 10 minutes. Why didn't he protect them then? After reading Voigts story everything seemed to fall into place. Since Heck's story seams to be not true cause it does not make since. Mr. Heck good job trying to make Voigts crew look bad, but next time make up a better story!!! Beyond a resonible doubt I can not beleave Heck, and I don't think anyone else can.

Sunday night I walked up to this altercation right as Melvin slammed his hand down on Voigt's hood and it seemed as if everything was calming down. But to my surprise everything was just starting as Korte walked up making a scene and an a** of himself. From my point of view Korte contributed heavily to the whole ordeal by running his mouth and being in Melvin's and Voigt's business. I used to really like Korte, and I still do as a driver, but as a person I have lost all respect for him after I saw him kick a guy in the side twice while he was on the ground. (what a cheap shot)
Who is the person that runs that track? He looks like Colonel Sanders. I think that he handled it very unprofessionally. He should have thrown all parties Melvin, Korte, and Voigt out of the races. As I was standing there I heard Colonel Sanders tell the Fayette County Sheriff that Voigt and Melvin were thrown out, but as I recall Melvin ran the feature cause he lost it on his own in corner #1. I guess it was favoritism at its best. Once again I have to hand it to you Colonel Sanders, what a great program you are running.
Like I said I still like Korte as a driver. He has something that everyone else wants, or wants to know what he is doing. At the beginning of the race the "fast pack" pulled away from him, he even lost positions. But on lap 20, after a caution his car took off and he was on a hard charge to the front. With the race track black and slick he had traction. He was even able to pull the left front off of the ground. It almost seemed as if he flipped a switch or someone pushed a button, it was very impressive. What ever Korte has put on that car makes him very fast.

And as far as what he has in or on his car. I think it’s called TALENT…..nothing else….

Korte has talent. Melvin has T.C., which I think he has taken off because he has been looking horrible lately. Maybe thats him trying to actually drive. Maybe he should use it again to save himself from looking like a mental patience.
