Were kinda veering off on a tangent.... Lets get back to the original topic. A French Company profiting from the US on a military contract. This is happening 5 years after President Bush stated to France, Your either with us, or your against us.

Should the US award this contract to NorthropGrumman?

And this $600 kickback we're getting just proves we are being overtaxed.

This $600 kickback we are getting does not prove we are getting over taxed. This is Bush's way of saying I boost the economy before I got out of office. I tried to fix the problem I created. The money the GOV is giving us will do nothing to help the economy. Most people I know are using the money to get out of debit or pay bills. I know that is were my money is going.

I still vote for Curly though unless you think we shoud vote Dirt Hound in? What do ya say about Dirt Hound for Prez?

Yes/no. It still helping some the US out but I guess it was a slap to Boeings face and a reminder to do things the right way. And Lockheed/Martin is too busy with all the fighter contracts they have. I'm sure Boeng will get the contract for the next big transport the military needs.

Totally disagree. By the way when Clinton was in office the last 9months of his term , unemployment was rising. People outta work isn't going to help economy. Get politicians to tighten the leash on big business then it might get better. But as long as the elite rich get in office, we're screwed.

Is anyone else as outraged as I am regarding the US military awarding NorthropGrumman the contract to build refueling tankers?

For those not familiar with the story..here it is in a nutshell.

NorthropGrumman is a US based global defense company that the US military (more specifically Sec. of the Air Force Michael Wynn) awarded a $48 Billion contract too. NorthrupGrumman is partnered with AirBus an Airship mfg which is based in France. For the full story, heres a link http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/02/29/air.force.tankers/index.html

5 years ago France was one of the countries that decided they would sit-out the war in Iraq. Our wonderful leader, President Bush, said "Your either with us, or your against us." France was obviously against us. Sentiment towards France was so hostile that we americans renamed the french fry to "freedom fry". Jump forward to 2008...we decide to pump billions of dollars into Frances' economy. Makes alot of friggin sense to me.

John McCain played a large roll in causing all of this. Read the last five paragraphs from the article in the above link.

I love how CNN throws his name in there. I guess that makes it his fault. I am not saying he had nothing to do with it but you can place blame on the whole congress not just one guy.

CNN is a joke. When the New York Governor gets busted in a prostitution scandal they call it a tragedy and talk about how sad it is that he fell from being such a good honest guy. If a Republican would have done the same they would have torn him apart and talked about how he has been corrupt his whole career.

Obama and Hilary were part of the Congress that made this decision. We should place blame on the whole system, not just one guy in the system.

By the way, I don't think McCain is the best choice but considering who he is running against (Obama/Clinton) he might be the only choice. I would not be afraid of a woman president if she deserved the office. Alot of Obama and Clinton supporters like to play the minority card. So if you don't vote for them you are either a racist or a sexist.

I would never vote for Obama or Billary. but i don't like McCain either. So I think I'm going to wait till 2012 to register to vote (I turn 18 this summer). None of them can do anything for the economy. They all believe the opposite of what I believe. But if I had to choose I would vote republican over democrat.
The problem started with Clinton, and if Clinton gets back in were screwed.

I haven't read this whole thing, so if I make a point that has already been made, I am sorry. France is no longer "AGAINST US"! They had an election which put Sarkozy in charge. For those of you who don't know what he is about, he is pro-American and could only get elected if the populous is also pro-American. Awarding the contract to Airbus is not only a good political one it was probably in the best interest of the country and the Air Force. John McCain has good foreign policy skills and if elected pres. can use this to his and the country's benefit! As for the dummycrats, what have they done since they got the house and the senate back? They said they would do more in the first 100 days in power than the repubs did in 4 years, didn't happen. They failed to pass any significant bills in that time frame. They have voted to expire Bush's tax cuts in 2010. So you can look forward to a significant tax increase then. Hope you all enjoy that one! And my favorite... the dummycrats when in a position to extend the law to help keep us safe with the "eavesdropping bill", opted to have a hearing on steroids in baseball and then go on vacation, effectively letting the law expire while they were all at home sitting on their collective azzes! Go McCain!

i personally think hillary would do a fine job, alot better then mcain, obama,or bush ever thought of doing.we can all say what we want about hillary and bill.fact is the economy was in pretty good shape when bill clinton served his terms.I used to dispise clinton when he was president, now i realize what good he really was,who cares what he did in his personal life.hillary knows what it is gonna take to get us back to par and has witnessed first hand what it takes to take care of the day to day things a president has to take care of..we all know when women are on a mission,90% of the time they handle what they need to handle...
