Sneak Peek

Here is a project we are working on now. This pic was taken in December right after I installed the cage and welded the roof back on. We have had this Saturn wagon for a few years now and were waiting for the right time to build it.

F5 Mod progress

Chris & Greg picked up the motor and tranny last night. :D:D:D Now the REAL fun begins!!! Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well when they get ready to drop it in.

This car build is almost as nerve racking as watching your child fly around that track! Just wait Jason Crump......just wait. ; )

The guys are all pumped and ready to hear it purrrrrr..............(let's hope so anyway). They have a couple of great mentors helping them through this process. Thanks to Bobby & Bob and everyone else who has been such awesome help and wonderful sources of information! BTW, we learned alot while networking at the St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club's Banquet of Champions and even signed up for a 2008 membership. The I-55 champions were all seated together. It was an undescribable experience sharing the evening with such greats as Troy Naeger, Bobby Bittle and Bryan Collins and Landon Cassill who recently signed with Hendricks Motorsports! Kenny Wallace was seated right at the next table and was a joy to listen to. His laughter is infectious, I swear!

It was neat to look at the pics you all have posted. Everyone seems to be moving right along and the cars are all looking good....real good. Can't wait to see you all at the track next month. We're almost in the homestretch with the new ride now. Wish us luck!

Hey Fisher,

Good looking car. Wheres the engine? Good luck next year.

I at the rules meeting that heard someone built a pro 4 that looks real similiar to your modified! Well more like a latemodel made out of aluminum.

Does anyone know who it is, or if they are going to be allowed to run it?

Yes, I know who it is but I am not going to throw him under the bus, like he did to me.
And no he isn't going to be able to race it like it is.

I will give you a hint, He is from Ste. Gen and his last name isn't Crump.

As you all know I have been fighting the aluminum rule to be able to use aluminum to create a stock appearing body (door panels and rear quarters). I officially lost that battle and have since redone both cars with steel. $$$$ OUCH $$$$$

Dirt Girl, I am thinking of having a big magnet on the side of my car that says (This is a Magnet) for play day. What do you think?

Good thing for me was i did not have the cage in and the door bars all way out tho the edge with just aluminum, or metal over the bars.

So last weekend, I went out and spent $250 on two new doors as mine were wrecked, to take the glass and trim off them and gut them out to be legal. So with the mounts and everything on them, they weigh about 20 lbs each. So clearly this was no performance advantage over door skin sheet metal.

So not only am I out $300 dollars for two used doors, now my rollcage will sit 4-6 inches closer to my seat cause of the inner door structure causes the rollcage to be moved in. This not being able to sheetmetal over the door drove up the cost of my car $300 and made it less safe.Obviously the closer the cage is to the seat, the more concerned I get.

All because someone really bent the rules drove up the cost of our entry level sport.

Ok i said my peace, now i'll shut up and drop the subject. No more whining.

some old pics

since i dont have anything done yet. heres some old pics of stuff ive built and painted or fixed and painted.
