Please Respect Other's At This Time

Channel 5 KSDK.COM has the 2 deceased names posted on their website so it is already PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE.......At a time like this we need to think into the future because the past has unfortunately already happened and we need to look into ways to make ALL OF OUR RACING experiences safer...YOU MAY say this is NOT the time or place to do this BUT when is it...Do you want this tragedy to happen again I THINK NOT...so we must pull together and re-think our safety at each and everyone of the RACETRACKS in the area as I'm sure every RACE TRACK is doing at this time of tragedy....So instead of bashing people for their thoughts let's STICK together for each other and just read each post and NOT comment against EACH OTHER and instead voice our opinions without being JUDGED for this is a RACING BOARD 4 people to voice their opinion's and EVERY ONE is entitled to their own opinion in this GREAT COUNTRY we live in TODAY......JMO:cool:

May God Be With All Those Affected By This Recent Tragedy

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all that were involved, including the families that had to witness such a bad accident. Wishing a quick recovery to all injured and much sympathy to the family and friends of those we lost.

of course our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved .Iwasn't there and can't imagine what a sight that was to see. That is the only thing that i have ever feared about driving a racecar (besides fire) was this to happen and being the driver. I can't imagine how kevin must feel but ITS NOT YOUR FAULT KEVIN i don't know you but i've seen you run and you have a first class program, if it could have been prevented it would have been prevented. I have no explanation for what happened just that we are all in gods hands god is in control sometimes it may be hard to believe but it's true may god bless you and keep you make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you the lord turn his face towards you and give you peace

thoughts and prayers go out to all involed in this freak accident, but as we all know when you go to a race we are all at risk drivers, fans, crews. We all know this and we accept the responsibile. It just isnt dirt racin, ive seen it happen in nascar to.If you dont feel safe at the race track just stay at home or move to a place in the stands that you do feel safe. Thanks fastfrankiemartinfan we did not need the names posted!!!It was asked not to be said but it only takes a few who cant understand that or read.If you have a saftey problem take it to the track im sure they will listen. If not just stay home.

bud13.. I read it perfectly.. But FYI.. As I believe JDearing stated.. the news had already been released of the victims. If they were not released I wouldnt have posted it.

Secondly.. They were friends of mine. Plus John Hartung who races the #22h is a co-worker.. So before you get on here bashing me for what I say. Look before you leap. Maybe you just havent read enough..

In fact I knew who they were last night but refrained from posting their names because of their families.

Our prayers go out to ALL involved in this terrible accident. Let's continue to keep these friends and families in our prayers as time goes on. I'm sure they will need them. Our Lord can comfort and heal them through this tragedy. God bless all involved.

One cannot begin to repeat that enough times. Very likely it was no one's fault.

My condolences to the family's of the crash. This was just a freak accident and there is nothing we can do right now.I hope everyone that lived through it is ok.The little 13 yr. old girls has anybody heard anymore news on her. Im only 14 and wouldnt want to see anyof that at all

No Wall

IF you do'nt have a wall you cant stop a race car. The idots that run the track keep adding dirt and building on the wall. In turn 1 the wall is only about 10 inches high. this will not stop a race car. We would not go back to mvn because of this.We where down at the drag strip at the time all of this happened they announced it and our hearts when't to our throuts. I hope everything works out for those hurt. And god bless and we will be preying for those lost.

"From my family to those families with lost ones or injured ones..

May GOD Bless and comfort you during this difficuilt time. Our prayers and thoughts go out to both the families in the stands and the driver and his. I as a race driver couldn't imagine how he feels even thou it's not his fault. Prayer right now is all any of us can do.

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED. GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES OF THOSE LOST AND THOSE INJURED.

I CAN'T FOR THE LIFE OF ME, FIGURE OUT WHY SOME PEOPLE CAN'T HELP BUT CLUTTER UP A POST WITH IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY. IF THIS POST HAS IT THEY ALL WILL.

LITIGATION IS A GIVEN. WHY BOTHER TALKING ABOUT IT?

TWO PEOPLE DIED OTHERS INJURED. A DRIVER THAT I WOULD ASSUME FEELS A TREMENDOUS BURDEN NONE OF US COULD IMAGINE. THATS WHAT NEEDS TO BE WORRIED ABOUT RIGHT NOW. I'M SURE THERE ARE THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE THAT MAY HAVE PREVENTED THIS. BUT NONE OF US KNOW THAT FOR SURE. NONE OF US ARE GOD. FREAK ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. WE ALL HAVE A NUMBER AND WHEN ITS COMES UP WE ARE GONE. THERE IS NOTHING TO DO FOR THE DEAD. WHAT CAN BE DONE IS FOR THE LIVING.

SUPPORT THESE FAMILIES WHO LOST. AND THOSE WHO WILL BE SUFFERING EFFECTS FROM THIS TRAGEDY. THINK ABOUT THEM! OR THE LITTLE BOY OR GIRL WHO MAY HAVE WITNESSES THIS.

I WASN'T THERE LAST NIGHT. I AT I55 AND WHEN NEWS CAME OF THIS. IT WAS VERY UPSETTING. I'VE BEEN TO TRACKS 1000'S OF TIMES AND NEVER HAVE BEEN INJURED OR SEEN ANYONE DIE(FROM AN ACCIDENT). RACE TRACKS ARE DANGEROUS PLACES. NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE THERE, PITS OR GRANDSTANDS. WE ALL EXCEPT THE RISK INVOLVED. WE DO SO BECAUSE WE LOVE AND ENJOY THIS SPORT.

I CAN FIND PEACE FROM THE FACT THESE PEOPLE WERE DOING SOMETHING THEY ENJOYED. I HOPE MY FRIENDS AND LOVE ONES CAN SAY THAT ABOUT ME WHEN I GO. THERE IS NO NICE WAY TO LOSE YOUR LIFE. BUT SOME ARE WORSE THAN OTHERS.

GOD BLESS THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

i agree pitdrifter... this is no time to pick apart what happened.. the most important thing right now is helping the ones going through this...
I am really concerned about the young kids that had to see this first hand..and the son of Karl Hartung who was sitting by his father when he was injured....
I have been to Mt. Vernon many many times..so glad I was not there last night.... but.. being at Mt Vernon several times I have met many wonderful people and I know they will all work together to get through this..
My heart goes out to each and every one of you....it is just awful...

Deepest sympathies from the entire Fastrak Racing family. This is truly a tragedy, and I am honored to be a part of the racing community as everybody comes together to help others in their time of need.
