I want to thank everyone who answered my question. I heard the rumor that they were with the Higgerson crew. I knew Doug when he raced at Highland several years ago.

For everyone that would like to know I talk to Kevin about 7:00 he is doing ok. He know it was not his fault. Please keep everyone in their prayes.

all prayers go out to everyone.
I had chills when the anouncement of the accident came over the loud speaker at pevely, I had many thought going through my head.
I have sat in the exact spot in those stands with my 2 year old. It could have been any one of us attending a race. I cannot imagine seeing the horriable accident.
We should all take a secound to reflect and thank god that we will go forward with our lives. lets not get upset over petty things, especially racing incidents. We should all come together as one big racing family and realize that
at any time it could all be over.
petty arguemnts are not worth it.
Lets pray for every one involeved and come together to forget about all
petty issues and realize that life is too short.
Lets all pray,

From the Wagner family

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by this tragedy...

likeapimp--you mentioned in previous posts that "race cars are not supposed to go through fences, and it is stupidity when they do go through fences" ...Are you kidding me!!?? You must not have any knowledge of racing, you cannot possibly help when something breaks in a car causing you to lose control!! And I agree safety needs to be addressed, but sometimes even the sturdiest fences could be broken, you never know what can happen, anything is possible...this was something that could not be prevented, or it would have been...again God Bless everyone involved..

had to say something

i hope everyone involved can get over this and move on. it will be very hard and my best wishes to all. now for u like a chump or whatever your screen name is. i was at 1-70 speedway about a month and a half ago and a super late model drove through a CONCRETE wall 10 feet from where i was sitting. there website has all the details of how thick and tall the wall was 18 " thick 5 feet tall dont quote me but close.he broke out a section like 15 feet long.since your such a safety expert how could you prevent this? it was an accident and maybe somtimes you can prevent things from happening but all we can do is try our best. just thought everyone would like to know these things happen and all we can do is be there for each other. like a chump go spill coffee in your lap and sue someone.sorry to get on here with a post like this but some people just need to be put in there place.

to all involved ,your racing family is here for you. even though we may not always agree we are here for you . hope everyone a speedy recovery and may god bless us all.

Man I was at MCS when this happened and just could not belive what I was hearing. It was the only thing I could think of. I wasn't there but I had nightmares about this. I pray for all involed. The young man killed has childeren and was going to be married in March.

Just saw on channel 2 news that Rick may close the track for the rest of the year. Once again Prays and thoughts to all involed.

Before we all start talking about sueing, let the Illinois State Police do their jobs and complete the investigation. There are many factors involved, and it's going to take some time.

Right now, the focus should be on the families and the driver. These people have some serious emotional trauma to overcome right now. We need to support all involved.

Thoughts and prayers to all

Thoughts and prayers to all that was involved and witnessed the tragedy at Mt. Vernon Sat. night. Every thing happens for a reason but the control is in Gods hands. But again, everyone affected is in my thoughts and prayers. Speedy recovery for those injured mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Our thoughts and prayers to ALL involved....the driver, the families, the fans and the track crew. Thank you to the fans who were sitting there and jumped up without giving it a second thought and helped....that is what was/is needed during times like this, everyone pulling together to help!

I dont even really know what to say. I just hope we as a racing community can overcome such a horrible and tragic accident such as this and I know it will take a very long time. It is very heartfelt when a strong racing community like this comes together and shares eachothers emotions and thoughts when something like this happens. I am in total disbelief, shock, saddened and I really just want to say that to all families involved in this horrific event, that your in mine, and my soon to be wifes thoughts and prayers as well. God bless you and may he help you find strength and courage to deal with your loss at this time. God bless each and every single one of you drivers, fans, etc...who have come here to show support not only for the families of the ones injured, but all of us who are grieving as well. I thank you. :(
