S-10 mini stock for sale

Nobody is running me off. I want to make that clear. I'm just choosing not to race a mini stock this year. The truck is legal and always was including by Rams rules. There is no problem with DDR and myself. As a matter of fact I would go to great lengths to help Bobby because he has done so much for racing. He is a good guy and I support the mini stocks at DDR, just not the Rams. If you all fix the problem and you know what it is I would support the Rams, but until you the officiers do that, myself and a lot of other race car supporters will not have anything to do with the Rams. I'm not blaming you. But you all know the problems same as alot of the other Rams members have talked to me about. As I learned with 20 years in the Army, If your a leader lead.

I would like to race the truck, but all the crying about my truck from idiots that don't know how to read a rule book have just burned me out on the mini stocks. I will be racing this season at SFCR in another class.

Sorry for the confusion, but I won't use names on the internet. I will say it to the people I have problems with to their face I just don't see them around. If you were a Rams member before last year you would know exactly what happened and took place with the Rams tech inspectors. If you don't know ask Bad Bob, Shannon Burch, Bill Nickelson,Wolf or some of the other regulars. Again as long as you have certain people speaking out for the Rams, They make the Rams look bad. I can't explain it any better than that.
You do have a good truck there, I've raced many laps with that truck. Good luck with selling yours.

okay I first off like to say to bobby johnson and doe run guys and rams memeber sorry I had to reply to this thread....I have tried to practice what I preched about dirty lunadry on the internet but it seems some people likes to beat a dead horse...... for the record ...
1) I was never allowed to look at this truck (even the night at SFCR)
2) I have gave keith my phone number and even offered to buy him dinner and talk with him (no responce)
3) the night at SFCR the other racers told the inspectors they didin't want to race with your truck.. and shannon told you not the inspectors
4) I will not go in discussion on the project truck buttt your add was very misleading as far as it being "race ready" I could air some of your "tricks" you used on this truck that we fixed but I wont
5) kieth you have been ask to attend some of our meetings but you never show we cannot fix any problems if only one side come to the table
6) the tech inspector don't speak for the Rams the rams tell us what to "police" it there chocie on all the rules we just make suggestions...

I also have tried to be quit about this post. The names that Keith is refering to have not even posted on this thread. As far as the DRR vs RAMS this is a statement that needs to end now. If you are going to race a mini stock at DRR, you need to read the rules and go by them. That is the same for anywhere you are going to race at . MCS has a manditory rule that states all vehicles must have a fire extenquisher, DRR doesn't. That is just a good safety factor that all drivers/car owners need to look into. At DRR they race mini stocks and have rules for the class posted on their web site. Keith GOOD LUCK in your adventure to the sprint and I wish you would race the truck in 2005 also. Smurf, sorry to say it must be you. When Shannon and I looked at Keith's truck I clearly pointed out that my problem was with the engine being set back (significantly) further than a stock S-10. He continually stressed that the motor mounts were in the stock location. The frame mount was in the stock location for a stock S-10 and the motor mount was in the stock location for a Iron Duke engine. The combination that resulted was an engine that was set back further than a stock S-10 would be, as I recall they even had to modify the firewall for the engine to go in. I'm sure its just the way it worked out and they were not trying to get an advantage on weight % but in any case the engine was not in the stock location for a S-10 (AGAINST RAMS RULES). I stated my concern to Keith about it and he did not agree with my opinion. Keith and I finally decided to "agree to disagree", shook hands and I went on my way. Jon Reando

In reference to Smurfs thread.
#1. It is true Smurf was never allowed to inspect my truck. When he became a tech inspector in Nov. 2003 the racing season was over and he posted on the internet about my truck being illegal without ever seeing it. Check the post from Nov and Dec 2003.
#2. Smurf has never given me his phone, nor offered to buy mme dinner , aleast not to my knowledge.
#3. The night At SFCR, Shannon being a Rams tech inspector told me and the other people at my trailer at the race track my truck was legal by the Rams rule book and that Smurf and Reando voted over him in a 2 to 1 vote not to let me race. As for as anyone else complaining about my truck, Nothing was said to me by anyone about not wanting to race againest my truck. As for as that goes about 90 percent of the Rams came over to me that night and to my home over the next couple of weeks and told me they believe I had been wronged by the Rams tech inspectors.
#4 As for as the project truck. I never advertised anything about the truck. Bad Bob and Jeff Mills called me about it and asked if I would sell it to them for the project truck. I told them I thought it was race ready but I had done nothing to since I last raced it at the Rock in which it won the heat race that night and finished third in the feature. When Bob, Shannon and I believe Jason came to get it the transmission was making a noise , so I gave them another trans.I didn't know it was bad because of the engine noise without a muffler on it and diidn't hear it until I coasted out of the garage. I believe Shannon also told me later about a shock being broke. As for as "tricks" on my truck, I have no clue to what your imagination has dream up on this like many other things you seem to come up with. Myself, Tom Harris,Joe Buckley, Glen Miller Tonya Harp and serveral other people drove that truck for me with out any problems.

You've do nothing but cause a good group of racing families to choose other things to do because of all the trouble you have stirred up in the past for nothing. If you want to race then biuld a car and race it instead of telling everybody for the last 3 years how your going to do it and never do.

For everybody else I'm sorry to have to deal with this but, I'm not going to seat back and be quiet about this any longer. If anybody has or have had problems with my truck please come talk to me about it. If not it will be at DDR with me in it until it's sold.

Your right we did not agree. This engine was in the stock location. The rules say no lowering are offsetting the engine. Again a stock chevy motor with stock chevy mounts in the stock chevy location. How much more stock could it have been. And the firewall was not modified. It just looks different because the iron duke looks different than a 2.5 chevy engine with the way the intake and exhaust exit the engine. And because a schattershield was put in so it could run MCS. That was a MCS rule. The rules at DDR are more restrictive than the Rams were and it passed 4 different tech inspections there because it was stock by the rules. You Ram inspectors didn't follow the Rams rules. And Shannon aggreed it was within the rules during that conversation. He positivley stated to myself and about 15 other people in my pit area that you and Smurf voted to not let me run while he stated that my truck was legal by the rules. There was also a SFCR official there when that took place.

I think of all people you proably know more about this than most. Since I ask you to inspect the truck and tell me if it was not within the rules. Like you said it was legal. I know we also talked about the #1 spark plug and ball jiont rule and that you took that to Bobby and DDR inplmented the rule. Even though it was a lot of extra work to redo everything I didn't really mind if it would shut up the whinebags. I also believe it will make this truck faster because it freed it up.
Thanks for the words on the sprint car. I haven't driven one for 20 years but am looking forward to it. I guess will see how it goes on Sat. night.
I will be racing the truck at DDR until I cal sell it. Should be able to make the 6 May race.
Sorry to all for the long thread above and to mention peoples names, but it's time this got settled. And even though I don't trouble, I'm not going to back are keep quiet on this any longer. If anybody wants truble about my truck they are going to recieve it this time, but in the proper manner.

The RAMS is being ran by it's elected officers. Which would be Crystal Eaton - President ... Shannon Burch - Vice President ..... LeaDonna Payne - Secretary/Treasurer ........ The 3 of us work VERY well together and if something needs to be brought to the Members, Crystal does exactly that ! Shannon is the one that has been answering tech questions because he is the one that is attending the RAMS meetings. We DO NOT need a tech at DRR, Bobby's men are handeling that . Hope this answers your questions on who is " running the RAMS " LD

The RAMS now have 3 GREAT officers that are doing their best listening to and representing our current membership. They conduct RAMS business with the members backing. They don't steer-up crap on this forum or any other time they are representing the RAMS. They won't just look away if something or someone does anything to hurt the RAMS internally or outside the RAMS. Our membership may be smaller than it once was, but I feel on the most part we as a whole are a lot closer now. I believe we are now represented honestly and truthfully. I feel we as member can now have our say at the meeting without being shot down. We are now encouraged to give our input on things to better the group.
Some may ask why continue the RAMS? A: "POINTS FUND" something the ministocks didn't have in our area until I suggested it and was the first $500 sponsor with Boyer Siding to start it. We may not have as many Corp sponsors as in the past, but we will have a pionts fund just the same.
I suggest anyone that wants to know more about the NEW RAMS please come to a meeting. Meeting dates, times and location are posted on the RAMS FORUM.

Keith, glad to hear you are going to race the truck until it is sold. [ hope you don't sell it] so you can race all year. I know you put alot of time into your truck. I enjoyed racing with you and I got to tell you ... you were one of the cleanest drivers I have seen ANYWHERE!!! AND willing to help ANYONE, ANYTIME. I was not around to see or hear what happend with the rams and you, but if it wen't down the way you said it did I don't blame you for felling the way you do at all.On the flip side of that, just remember that myself and many others joined the rams this year because of the new people running it...Crystal, Shanon, and LD. They are honest and hard working to see that this type of thing does not happen again. Please give them a chance, and to anyone who is whinning about your truck, they are just afraid of the competion. So please come race and have fun the way it supposed to be and don't let what happend take that away. Your a really good racer and a super nice guy, good luck and I will see you May 6. BRIAN

okay this will be my last post on this subject It is to close to season for this piddly crap to start .
First off Crystal Shannon and Ld run the rams (and are doing a great job) lets all go back a down memory lane this whole rucuss started when the truck won a feature a certain chevy driver asked me why that truck wasn't DQ for set back... I said I didn't know nothing about it I just started teching (with two other knoweleable tech men)....
I have never told you to your face what is wrong or what I thought was wrong with this truck you purchased you have gotten info from numerous people except me... so who is it to say that it may have gotten exagerated?

second we had a problem of when the two other tech men (ones from the start of the rams) would say something is wrong with a car the driver would complain to the prez or vice prez and then the tech men would get over ruled on it
(not this present group) so in 2004 it was decide when the tech men made a call it stood not to be overturned

3rd no I AM NOT A SPOKEMAN FOR THE RAMS... have I ever said that??? NOPE!

4th as far as Shannonn Burch,Bad Bob, Jason Brewington, Kenny Harris Wolf, Papa Wolf only one of them are tech men( I belive kenny had stepped down) and does it mean If 10 nontech men says it okay to run a stoker then is it legal?

keith do you remeber the first Rams banquet You me and millsey and birch talking about how great this group was to be around what changed why do you have so much hatred toward me? you ministocks are the best group of races I have ever been around I learned so much from you guys in one year than I did in the 3 years I spent in purestreets and I'm gratefull for that...

in closing I will say this Keith If your are legal at DRR then race it and be happy there is no "rams" race's this year yet
(crystal and ld are trying though) so there should be no conflict this year the bottom line is Doe Run is the Ministock racing headquarters this year and you have to follow bobby's rule end of story....

one last time if you wish to finally bury this hatchit get every thing out in the open lets all 4 get together one night and hash it out I'm sure the other two would show up heck have a meeting in a nuetral place heck you pick the place but if your unwilling to meet half way NOTHING can get fixed this way.... I belive you have not been told the whole truth but only half the story and for that I can see why you are upset and get on the forums and complain...

I have one partail mini (pinto) and one Boyd built MustangII waiting in the gagarge that I cann't finish or race because of my surgery done to my foot I cannot afford
another 10,000 surgery 3 month missed work again so I am FORCED to take this year off I would love to race at DRR this year especally since me and flame warrior has a "grude race" to do one year :D :D :D

Thank You to Marty and Mike for the very nice comments. I am VERY proud to say that the officers of the RAMS are working together better than any others since it started ! Crystal came into this with alot of racing knowledge and had seen the RAMS race many times but had never attended our meetings. She just stepped up to the plate and she conducts the meeting the way SHE does things ...... Our meetings are NOTHING like they use to be. EVERYONE is welcome to talk and they are HEARD !!!!!!!!!!!! I think she has given the RAMS 110% and proved some wrong when they said " It will never work or Women dont need to be running racing " We are not a perfect group and i am sure we have, and will make some mistakes... but i assure ANYONE .... our books ( financial ) and any other RAMS info is available to anyone that wants to see it. We have nothing to hide. So, anyone that reads this post PLEASE remember the RAMS is nothing like it use to be and 1 or 2 people that are mouthing, are NOT representing the RAMS with their comments...... LD :)

This post started out as a truck for sale that is Doe Run legal. If there is a problem with the RAMS about this truck it needs to be posted about it on the RAMS forum. I am not cutting down the RAMS or anyone involved, but I feel that a post on the RAMS forum should be more in order to complain about this issue and not here. I would really like to see an END to it ! Lets get them ready for May 6th and LETS HAVE A GREAT YEAR OF RACING AT DRR IN 2005 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Like I said in an earlier post "You better read the DRR rules on their website and be ready to go by them " This means EVERYONE. I was just trying to sell the truck. I can't even do that without problems caused by the Rams.
