Sad day

I try to stay neutral, but talking about Obama buddying up with radical people is a little hypocritical. I think that Sr. and Jr. can both be suspected of buddying up with some suspicious individuals.

I think everyone can and would agree that the current mess will not be cured overnight. New policies and plans will take time to implement. Some of the republicans on this board have even stated that a new president needs 2 years before we start seeing any effect of their efforts. That statment was made on another thread and they were not my words. Many of you are afraid of Obama's plans and more so of the man, largely from being misinformed, and lied to. Even if every bad thing and all of the filthy propaganda that has been written or said about Obama were true, Congress will not allow the terrible things you believe are going to happen to our country to be implemented. Many of you have no idea what Obama's true "blueprint for change" entails. I encourage you to go to Obama's website and read for yourself the "Blueprint for Change". Then you can arrive at your own conclusions rather than what you have been led to believe.

During this time of healing the American people will need encouragement, reassurance, and someone to keep us focused on the hope of achieving a goal. Obama is the right man to do this. Bush certainly wasn't. He could only make a speech that had been written for him and appeard cold and confused. He didn't care about anything or anyone and I don't think he loves our country (he seems to be more of a middle easterner). I don't think McCain is the man either.. He's not much of an orator, and doesn't have much appeal to generation X (our future). He wasn't wise enough to put his best face forward during the campaign. If in September, McCain would have shown America the same face he showed during his concession speech, the outcome of this election might have been different.

I've said all of that just to say please..lets give the man a chance. We've got what we've got, your not going to change it. Even if you feel Obama has limited experience you must admit the man can make a speech and can motivate people, especially the young people which are our future. Worst case scenario: Obama can keep us motivated, and congress can do their job by passing legislation to pull us through this mess.
But to everyone, please stop spreading the negatives vibes and lets keep an optimistic view of where America is heading. Continuing to express and promote the negatives will only keep the citizens of our country depressed. We just endured 8 years of the worst ever. Surely we can be diplomatic enough to let someone new have a go at it and to look optimistically at our future.

good post eddy i bet u got a headache now lol.but if we need 1 man to keep this country focused were in trouble.we as ppl take our lifestyles to granted way to much and thats our down fall.U can say bush failed but in all rights he is one man.WE ALL FAILED this country not just 1 man.I dnt really seeing it changing anytime soon.Obama says its time for change.Well he is not going to change it we the ppl will have to do the work.i no what obama means by redustibuting the wealth but most ppl have taken that the wrong way.if we as ppl wont work toghther then it dnt matter whos in office because nothing would every get done.Just like a addict they have to hit rock bottom before the will change.thats what its going to take for the ppl of the united states to change the ways.So lets stop blaming bush for all our problems and lets take some of the responeabilty ourselves and i dnt car if ur black white red democrat or repubican it dnt matter. We messed this country up now we got to fix it.but as long as we fighting bout whos president we will only see change for the bad

I wasnt gonna post on this subject, but feel i have to now.In starting i will say our ancestors are turning over in their grave.we as americans should be ashamed of ourselves for the way we have done things over the last few years. When our ancestors didnt like something, they gathered together and stood up and faught for what was right.if we as AMERICANS would grow ballz like our ancestors had,we would stand up and tell the government how it was gonna be,We have the power TOGETHER to do whatever we need to do.Take gas prices for example.even when gas is almost $4 a gallon,we are still out buying it,and doing things like we used to.all we are doing is letting the big oil companys know its ok if they rape us on fuel we are still gonna buy it,cmon poeple.we are at fault just as much as anyone else for our current condition,i think it is about damn time WE as AMERICANS do something about it.the past is gone, all we can do is change the future!!!!!!!!!

As far as obama.i honestly think he will do some good.im sure there will be some things happen we dont agree with, but that is the case with any president.i really beleive obama will bring some change, and that is what america needs at this point in time

I'm one of the people who said it will take time for a new president to make changes. I didn't vote for the man but, he was elected at least give him a chance and some time. Like someone else said support him for the next four years and if it don't work out vote someone else in.

I don't know about anyone else but I for one couldn't take another 4 yrs of geo bush policies and I would have voted for mccain had he picked a different v/p that in my opinion hurt him very much maybe at a later time it would be fine but not now and I am glad obama and look who he has already picked a former bill clinton advisor to his help him and colen powell also to help him and hopeful he will pick alot of knowledgeable people to help get this country back to a balanced budget as if you have a business how long can you survive in the red not long i bet so give him and his policies a chance to work and yes we are not going to have a quick fix as we didn't get this way over night and not going to get out of it over night, how ironic the debt we now have its what sunk the economy and where did it come from geo bush

they u go blaming 1 man for our economy its ppl like u that we are in bad shape because u just sit there for 1 man to fix it all.We made this economy the way it is.now obama wont fix it the ppl of the untied states will now quit blaming bush for our mistakes.Detroit is hurting right now bet u going to blame Bush for that 2lol.Gas prices are down now i dnt c 1 person praising him but when prices are u u guys are quick to dog him

no, I will blame ronald reagan for the problems we are in as he was the worse president we have ever had for the working class in this country and if you were in a union in the early 80's then you know what I am taking about as I found a old pay stub and I am making a little more NOW than I did back then and with the cost of living since then and I did great back then and I do well now so it doesn't really matter to me who is the president is ,as congress and the senate run this country and the president is just a figure head but really I thought this was a race forum but I guess it has been turned into a political forum maybe all this crap will be deleted as there are MORE political posting than race stuff ON HERE NOW so I guess the name is going to be changed to stl politics instead of stl racing and yes I love racing and don't give a **** about the politics as neither i nor yo can change it til the next election so life goes on and I am happy to be alive and breathing and walking and having a great job I love ,how about you?

What has Obama done?

Looks like he just won a popularity contest if nothing else...If we're going to have a black President, why couldn't it have been Jesse Jackson, or Rev Al Sharpton?????

Now if the republicans had nominated a black person and he won they would not say anything negative would they bunch of bs respect the president for being the president not the color of his skin racisim is getting worse by the day jmo

Dirthound:

What you can't seem to understand is that you are not and never will be a part of the republican party, you are only allowed to carry their water, thats why you didn't get any money from bush's tax cuts.

Accept that fact or else join a party that will accept you no matter what your status in life.

and you think I 'll getit ftom obama and besides its realesate tax and property tax that kill you espcailly this time of year but neither party talk about that do they

Dirthound:

What can't you understand about economics and taxes.

Your property taxes are higher because of bush's tax cuts, each state receives back from the federal goverment a share of income taxes collected, when the wealthy get a federal tax cut then the states get less back and therefore must raise state and local taxes to offset the shortfall.

You and we are in effect paying for the tax cut that the top 10% received under bush. It is Robin Hood in reverse.
