No problem king, I have been called a lot worse that is for sure. Hell, as a matter of fact, I will take childish as a compliment...LMAO!
 
Smoking isn't a "necessary" side effect like the fumes, etc from an indoor go-kart race. You can go to a bar and enjoy yourself without creating smoke. You can't have an indoor go-kart or motorsport event of any kind without creating some fumes. The difference is, we don't go to indoor motorsports events that frequently (at least 99% of the population doesn't) but the majority of people do go to public restaurants, bars, malls, etc. every week.

And King, you got my point entirely about second-hand alcohol.

I Have No Problem With Restrctions But A Complete Ban With No Choices Is Too Much. Take Arnold Missouri For Example. They Were Going To Ban It Completely But Ended Up With The Letting Restaurants Put Up Walls Sealing The Smoking From The Non Smoking. That To Me Is A More Than Fair Option. For Those Who Chose Not To Then They Were Completely Non Smoking.

I think this is all to funny smokers do have a right to smoke ITS A FREE COUNTRY id hate to see what’s going to happen in the future LIKE no drunk guys dressing in funny costumes(chim chim) to make people laugh at the race tracks its been a study that laughing to hard could kill someone keep that in mind I think all the smokers should take up chewing tobacco and spit all over the Freaking place and then see how people like it ha-ha its legal to do in bars as far as I know I mean id rather breath in smoke than to walk into a bar and see 100 different spit bottles all over the place lmao and I even chew but heaven forbid don’t spit in Fairview heights IL you’ll get a pretty good fine so just carry a nice clear water bottle!!

Bolo, I am not attacking you. Sorry if you are taking it that way. I simply stated that "you were a little off the deep end" by dragging "China taking over America" into this Smoking Ban Thread. (I think you lost a lot of us with that one) You countered by telling me to "cart my butt off to China" (why, I don't know.again you lost us). I told you that was a childish statement, and made a joke about how childish it was by saying "my daddy can beat up your daddy" I then told you that comparing suicide to second hand smoke was not an intelligent argument. Lastly I told you that I hadn't read anything remotely intelligent regarding the questions I had asked you to answer. Those are the only statements that could possibly be construed as attacking you. I haven't called you names, cussed you, or made jokes about your momma. I haven't offered to fight you. And in my opinion, I haven't insulted you in any way.

I will not back off, nor will I ever "call anyone out" as you have asked. From reading some of your other post, I can see you think fighting is the answer to alot of things. This being the case, I consider your PM a threat. I have not said or done anything wrong, and I stand behind the statements I have made. I will continue to argue my point. This is exactly what I was talking about.When I said most of the public was to ignorant to understand.The China comment I will try to explain 1 more time. Probably will do no good. You will notice almost every thing we buy NONE FOOD is coming from China. Now if our laws continue as they are. We will have trouble walking down the street w/ out being Illegal in 1 way or another.You say you have the rite to throw some one out of your business because they stink. How would you feel if the Law stepped in and told you that was discrimination and you will let them in or be fined??? If I do not like the place I do not have to patronize it. I could go to a place such as yours that does not allow smoking.Thats were China comes in. Hey King do you realize that smokehouse you went to prob smoked it's meats? The carcinogens in BBQ or SMOKED meats is a cause for cancer as well... Just like second hand smoke but you ingest it as to inhale it. Just food for thought..... Want to keep you healthy my little feather plucker ;)
Hey are your chickens Organic? Are they free range chickens? Are the fed any growth hormones in their feed? Is their feed Organic? Or does their feed have pesticides and insecticides in them? Are their feeds GMO free?
We have to think of ways to help our bodies besides cig smoke. I have to agree that it is a nasty habit. I am quilty ...
You go crazy on Cig smoke I go crazy on those items above.
That and People who fertilize their yards and it runs off into my yard and the water ways messing up millions of animals and the water. That and the fact my kid plays barefooted all summer and she plays in this stuff. 15 years from now she has AML or ALL ( leukemia ) and we go I dunno know where it came from ? My neighbors with the beautiful green yard. Weed killer and all. Has really played major havock on the animal kingdom.
My round about point is everyone is up and arms about the smoking and 2nd hand smoke. Think of other ways we can help save each other as well.. Remember not to BBQ or Smoke your foods because of the carciniogens ( sp )....
I have a huge list .. But I will spare you guys... Your Lucky Day :D

Have you stopped to think that now you can reach out to the non smoker demographic and get them back in your establishment? Rather than focusing on the negative (that hasn't happened yet) get proactive and consider ways to turn this into a positive.


Side note and true story...My wife and I went to Ethyl's Smokehouse and Bar in O'fallon, MO on Friday night. Our first time there. We loved the food, and being non-smokers we sat in the N/S section. It was so smokey we vowed never to go back. Even though I had the best pulled pork I've ever ate, we will not frequent that establishment again simply because it was a miserable environment.

Boy I tell ya I had NO IDEA this would garner the attention that it has...(or maybe I did..hehehehe)

But anyway.It has made all of you forget about the fact that there is NO RACING going on..

Boy Kingeddy, could you let other people have an opinion too? Geez, everyone has a right to express their opinion, but it seems when they do, you shoot them down. I don't know you, but I will let you in on a little secret. Yes, I am a smoker, and NO I don't stink {B.O. wise that is, but maybe from the smoke, I can smell it and I know a non-smoker can too.} BUT, I use to work in the fast food industry for over 15 years and let me tell you that you do reek of grease after 8,10,12 hours of hard work, that grease gets into every pore, your hair, and your clothing, and boy I know from experience even after a good bath, YOU still stink!!!!!!!!!!
So before you are so quick to judge everyone, take a long look at yourself and maybe even a good sniff, and maybe your attitude will change.

P.S.
I always thought that the chicken at our restaurant was the best in the nation, but I heard that yours was pretty good too.
This was not meant to start anything, but to just give my perspective on things that I've read on this thread.

Yeah, I've been known to ruffle alot of feathers Kathy;) (pun intended) And yes, everyone is entitled to express their opinions but when someone tells me to "cart my butt to China" and further states "I wish I had your smarts>NOT". I consider that open season.

As t nie stated earlier, second hand smoke is not a necessary side effect. Running a restaraunt and smelling like grease is. It is my choice to do so. I do not go into a bar or casino choosing to come back out smelling like a half smoked pack of soggy Marlboros.

Our chickens come from Tyson. It clearly states on the box, No Steroids, No Growth Hormones. Not sure about the organic or GMO free feed. But that is beside the point. You have a choice not to eat my chicken. If I want to go to a casino or bar, I do not have a choice. I must inhale those carcinogens.

Yes barbequeing or smoking meat does produces at least two types of potentially dangerous chemicals: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic amines (HCAs). It has never been proven how much is harmful to humans. Besides, most people don't eat barbeque as often as they are exposed to second hand smoke, which has a known rate of harm. (and yes, I googled carcinogens in bbq. I'm not that intelligent)

I agree the argument could go on and on and on. I've had enough of this subject. We all just keep repeating the same arguments. But did anyone notice that no one has said they would get on the plane with the TB guy.

Bolo...Peace to you. I still don't understand your logic regarding China. I would be interested to hear if anyone else does. Maybe they could explain it clearer.

LIKE I SAID, GIVE THE PEOPLE THAT SMOKE AN OPTION LIKE STATED ABOVE. ELIMINATING THEIR PLACE TO GO AND DO WHAT THEY ENJOY COMPLETELY IS JUST AS WRONG AS FORCING NON SMOKERS TO DEAL WITH SCEOND HAND SMOKE TO GO OUT AND ENJOY THEMSELVES. PRETTY SIMPLE SOLUTION TO A OVER BLOWN PROBLEM!
 
as a smoker i personally think the law is a bunch of bulls!!!, we live in the land of the free, well so we think, if we can't smoke a cig were ever we want, then what is next..... what will we have to fill out paper work just to go take a crap.......like everyone has said the law has its pro's and con's..... but i am totally disagree with this law....i have always respected others who don't smoke, and not smoke around them or i go outside...... and how heavily do you think this law will be in forced.... maybe in the bigger cities in illinois but what about the little towns....its kinda like the old saying....."no cop no stop" it will be the same with this smoking law.....couse personally if a cop is going to right me a ticket for smoking to close to a building i will rip it up right in front of him. becouse as a u.s. citizen i have the right to smoke were ever i want......LAND OF THE FREE..... yeah right........thats going down the drain as we speak.....
 
First of all, I kicked the habit 2 years ago. I believe that our rights are being taken away more and more. We are no longer the land of the free. You are only free if you live like someone else wants you to live. We are not free anymore! We are all supposed to be race fans. Guess what? Exhaust fumes probably will cause cancer and/or death. So when they come to ban racing, don't be on our side. Leave the race track because someone told you it was no good for you and you don't have the right to be there. I will be there fighting for our rights. Let's go racing!
 
If you have to hold your pants up at the crouch with one hand and talk on the cell phone with the other- Now that should be illegal. How can you get anything done like that?
 
I said I was done with this topic. Sorry but I can't help just one last question for all of you. I keep hearing, "if they keep taking our rights away......"

Can any of you name 5 rights that have been taken away from us within the last 5 years?


And keep in mind, they didn't take the right for you to smoke away. They have only limited it so you cannot harm others. The same could be said for most all of our rights. They are limited in some way. Maybe bolo can shed some light on this one.
