So what is going on with Ed Dixon?????

I have to agree that the Driver bashing or comparing is really getting old. Here we have many options to go racing and you go to any track and it's a tough gig... Some tracks do have more car counts than others. I feel sorry for these drivers that get bashed and MF'd all the time. For pete's sake. I have things I want to say on a weekly basis sometimes to but RESPECT for the DRIVERS and their FAMILIES and their SPONSORS should be the norm.
But I guess some people have not been taught RESPECT :rolleyes:

got that right! he blows away a lot of guys every night on his way to the front. downing drivers with comments is one thing, but a screen name like that should be booted!

I would just like to say that Dixon is awesome and i think that he is a very good guy. He takes time to sign autographs and is always out in the pits, he doesnt just pack up and leave like other drivers. I go down in the pits every race and guarentee that Dixon is out there. Ya, he might have his bad days but so does everyone else. Dixon is one of the most fan friendly drivers out there!!!
I started this thread in concern because i did miss the race at Godfrey. I did not mean to put him down if anyone took it that way, but so many different stories were going around and I just thought one of his fans could set the story straight. So thanks to you Dixon fans who support him.
GO DIXON YOU RULE!!!

I was glad to see Dixon back....he is one of my favorite LM drivers...just happy for whatever reason he is at Godfrey and deceided not to leave because you do have alot of fans there...all drivers have a bad night sometimes and some have them all the time...but they don't give up and we don't either....keep racing....and good luck:) :) :) .....J/M/O ....Laura

Hmmmm - I must be attending the wrong I-55 raceway. Are you talking about Ed Dixon that drives a late model (#50) in Pevely?

hey i just want to know why dixon doesnt run belleville anymore he to scared to get his car tore up? Is just he cant run with the big dogs anymore?I have been to Godfrey and wont go back belleville holds alot more late mods and mods, than Godfrey will ever have

I have visited Godfrey on several occasions over the past year and last year. Small hometown track but some decent racing in all classes. People are friendly and the program is ran at a decent pace. if it rains, Godfrey is rinning. I decided to take a trip over to Bellecalire. Since I grew up in Murder City, this was the track I attended as a kid. I went there a few Sundays ago. It was great to see the old wooden fence and gates. The seating was the same (steep - your legs were right in the back of the person in front of you). I still love the awning. The bathrooms changed a little because the old wooden urinal trough was no longer there (thank goodness)! It was fun to go down memory lane after 30 years. I really cannot see myself paying to go there again. The track is way too small for any racing to take place. You may get two passes per race if you are lucky. When Scott Weber is held in check for a heat race and feature because a slower car is on the inside or outside, that's not racing that's a traffic jam. If you do try to race and make some passes, you most likely will end up with something crumpled. I am not trying to put the track down at all. It is what it is - a small bull ring that was efficient for smaller cars many a day ago. Wide late models do not belong on this track as I see it. I know if a number of drivers that no longer race there or race on occasion due to the 1/5 mile limitation. I am confused on why you think Belleclair can hold more cars than Godfrey. Math would tell you otherwise. Godfrey and Highland are both small tracks that are more apt to have more cars and better racing than Belleclair.
If you want to see the best racing, the best speeds, the best drivers and the most passing, then you need to travel to I-55. I beleive you will find Dixon racing there and not shaking in his racing boots.

I did not say anything "bad" about the gas in Belleville. If you are referring to Belleclair Speedway, it is called an unbiased opinion from a paying race fan. It would be great if Bellclair and some of these smaller tracks could modify their existing facilities. I would expect that most cities, counties and neighbors are looking for more ways to put them out of business than improve them. If you let emotions overtake reasoning, you will use phrases like "freaking idiot" along with a few other ones. Let me ask you these questions. Would you think the racing would be better if the track was a little bigger and wider? Do you think the seating could be moved back to make sitting more comfortable? Do you think more more driver's in any class would show up to race on such a track? That's all I was saying. I just think the facility was never intended for the future racing it now has along with other tracks with early dirt track history. Who would have known? Not a big deal. Do you think you convinced anyone otherwise by saying "freaking"?

I would say for the same reason you don't do many things you did 50 years ago. You update and improve. If you like "side by side" racing were this is very little passing, then I guess it's great for fans like yourself. If I was into that type of racing, I can find this at a local go kart track. I just found it not to be that exciting from a race fan perspective. Most fans will spend their money where they are entertained the most. I have no grind against Belleclaire, it's just not a track I would choose to watch some good late model racing. I don't think even Bloomquist could pass anyone on that track if he started last in the feature - its just too tight. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it - with or without a brain.
 
bloomer couldn'tpass there but voight frankie hammelree lansford grondski and host of others frankie came from about 15 to third inthe 100 lapper that got done at 10 30 question when was the last time you were there,plus they had about 13 differnet winners this years

I beleive that in a 100 lapper - probably 3/4 of the cars were invloved in wrecks and were hauled off. I wonder how many of those 13 different winners started on the pole. Why are you so angry? Is it because your spellchecker is broken?
 
that 1oo lapper had 1 driver drop out try again.godfrey couldn't run a 100 lapper it would take them 3 weekends to get it donebesides will godfrey ever be smooth no and you draw before the dash why have a dash and for a tow truck wow a backhole,and if bigger is better go to tri city i guess I can't gothe worlld 100 because have the field will drop out lmfao
