Tony Stewart comments

Speaking of role models, attitudes and corporate bullshyt, what do any of you Stewart haters think of DW's commericals for Toyota trucks? How can you possibly cast dispersions on Tony, when Toyota actively promotes that image in it's corporate advertising? If NASCAR is so squeaky clean nicety nice, what the heck is Toyota doing bringing the sport into disrepute by portraying the drivers (especially the former champion and face of NASCAR on TV) as lawbreaking bad boys going against the grain? Explain that to me, if you will.

awww, come on,todd... usually you are right on with your analysis on things. but,you really took a dump with your latest post. every nascar truck commercial (that i can remember) that i have ever seen shows death and destruction and rubbin' and etc. that's the image that a tough truck has,so nascar carries it over. it's only a commercial,so let it go. since when are commercials real life??? they sing a jingle, make a cute statement,etc.,etc.,to make some kind of impression in your mind to remember their product.that's called marketing, todd. it works,too... you remembered it,didn't you??

First you yell at one person when he mentions Italian tempers then you have the nerve to call people socialist communist? Step back, take a breath, and pull your head out of your butt. Not to mention you used Jesus Christ in this very same sentance.

Furthermore! I cannot raise my kids in a bubble. Unfortunately this world is filled with many people that our children see as being roll models for more reasons that their personalities. It just happens that they see someone like Tony Stewart who can drive the wheels off a car and their hooked. All of a sudden Stewart is their favorite. Maybe it's because he's fast. Maybe it's because their favorite color is orange or their favorite number is #20. But in all of this Stewart becomes their favorite not for his additude but for what he does in that orange car. But here is where the problem comes. Our kids are watching their favorite driver in that orange #20, they finally get to see him without the helmet on out of the car and what comes out of his mouth? Nothing but a bunch of.....well, we know what he says.

It's not what he does, it's not what he says. It's how he does it and says it! I just wish he'd voice his opinion with a little more tack and stop acting like a butt.

I think a week with Richard Petty would do Tony a world of good. I'm sure The King would set him straight on how to treat people!

Which Tony Stewart is going to drive the 20 car this week? Will it be the loudmouth, the ever innocent debutant, or the kamakaze missle who takes out everyone who is beating him at the moment? It is obvious the man is incapable of controlling his emotion, his mouth, and apparently his race car. This man will single-handedly RUIN nascar. The man attacks photographers for taking his picture, endangers fellow drivers and thier crews by spinning them out on pit road, and runs his mouth at a higher RPM then his motors turn. I don't understand why people look up to this loser and rave about his supposed "talent(?)" but at the same time throw cans and buckets at a driver who is genually talented like Jeff Gordon. But that is an attest to the "new fan" who praise the man that exploits nascar. I think "smoke" Should do us a favor and go back and race his oversized go-karts and let the open-wheeler fans hail his stick-and-ball sport attitude. After all they parked Kevin Harvick for rough driving, and I would think Kevin would be a better ticket seller,( atleast you won't get punched when asking for an autograph). Maybe we should anticipate the day Tony tangles with Jimmy Spencer. Atleast Spencer isn't afraid to knock someone off their pedastal.

You bet. And everyone is remembering Tony too... Which has to be good for Home Depot in the same way DW trashing someone's yard is good for Toyota. I'm not saying it's wrong, or even inappropriate. The point I am making is that the Stewart bashers are jumping all over Tony, and claiming all this nonsense that he is creating a bad reputation for his sponsors, when in reality, NASCAR racing thrives in part on the whole young guns, outlaw image, and Tony fits into that mold much better than a lot of these corporate tokens. He is real, as real as it gets. I guess it's ok for DW to "act" the tough guy on behalf of his sponsors, but let it happen in "real life" as you put it with Tony and all of a sudden it's a bad thing? I just think it adds some spice to an otherwise bland sport overrun with corporate butt lickers.

Wait a minute!!!! Didn't Tony Stewart do donuts in the grass on one of the Home Depot commercials? Isn't that destruction of property? LOL! Ok, ok! So it was on the infield of a track but still......... ;) :D

my point being that everyone has got to bellyache about somebody,so,until someone else comes along,t-stew is it.

well, I forgot who I just quote with that, but I got an idea. Lets bellyache about Kurt Busch! I really hate that guy. Oh, and last I checked, this was a democracy, not a socialist, communist country. God Bless the USA. You wanna bellyache about communists, just look at who were our sworn enemys for many years, the communists. THe Cold War, DUH. If this was a communist country or any other kind of country, we probably wouldn't have racing, or Tony Stewart to complain about. Poor little guy, the ladies think he is so cute, and now he got his feelings hurt. BooHoo. Cry me a river. Like I said before, the green flag will wave again this weekend, and him and DW can put it behind them. As for the other drivers TSTEW has ticked off, well, they are racing right next to him. Hehe:)

Dirtgirl, please have some respect for the greatest nascar champion to ever live, and do not compare him to Jaws. T. nie, something wierd is going on, you are posting things I agree with lately, not political, but still.

Boogity does not sound rednecked, it sounds stupid, and calling Dale Jr june bug, sounds insulting to him, and while he may not be a pimple on his daddys *** as a race car driver, but he is the best in nascar these days.

I thought this was about T Stewart?? I cant believe you are downing kenseths children, to me and this is just my opinion is very childish. I just cant believe you would go on about what this kenseth person has said, who cares?
Granite T Stewart is a PAIN and a BABY, but everyone has their own opinions and why keep dragging it on with this kenseth person.

tony is a race car driver not a role model. where does it say, "if you drive in nascar you must be a role model?" the man is different, he brings excitement to a sport i love that has become bland. the man races and he races hard, sometimes too hard, he will pay for some of the bumping he has done lately and im sure he realizes he has it coming. some people should wake up, its frickin racing not a church social. the other drivers are so polite and all say the same thing, i can tell you what each one is gonna say before the mic is put in front of em, except for tony anyway and that is refreshing. i wish they would all say whats on their mind instead of memorizing what they should say in each situation. as far as the home depot goes, they couldnt buy this much press even with all the money they have, how many times has thier name come up in this thread because of what tony has said? personaly i am a dale jarrett fan, im sure he will retire in a few more years, if i had to pick a driver to replace dale today it would probably be tony, besides jr he is the only one that sticks out among all the other drivers with their corporate say the right thing personalities. I wish for one week they would all just say what they thought when they got a mic in their face. boy would the ratings go through the roof then!!!!!!!

Funny you should say that Dean, cause lately, and not just on this thread, I have been sitting here nodding my head in agreement with a lot of things you have been saying too.

I AGREE 100% PROSTOCK!!!!! Well said.

Let's think about this for a moment folks. In an era of cookie-cutter tracks do we really want cookie-cutter drivers too? Sure sometimes Tony screws up and let's his temper get the best of him. There are lots of times he gets dragged to the big red trailer that he deserves but he is refreshing in this age of the car was awesome the crew was great or shucks let's get em next week. At least we know he isn't reading a script. Makes you wonder about the rest.

While I did not hear or read anything that was said, from what I have been able to catch of NASCAR, Tony has been driving a bit overly aggressive this year. From what I understand, however, Darrel did his share of it also when he was racing. (And his new Toyota commercials??) Perhaps, if Tony really wants to "get back" at Darrell, he should prove Darrell wrong by acting like a better person. At least, that is what I was always taught...

this is the image that nascar is trying to get rid of. and so t.nie is correct. But to contredict all that, this is the image that the fans love nascar for. Bellyaching lord almighty, holyer than thou, axxholes are what is going to ruin this sport and if you had not noticed it has already begun.
I rewatched the race and tony kept his cool at the end. He said what he had to say but did not go over board.

and I can go to hell in any color hand basket of my choosing. I have the right. do I not?! I am well aware of my use of 'lords' name. :p :D

about Darrells Commerical he does not make them so yes they are wrong with doing it but you cant put him down for something he did not write.
Tony and Darrell are both in the wrong they both should get banned from Nascar
