Tony Stewart comments

The only problem I have with Tony is him turning down the little boy about 5-6 years old in the cute home depot outfit last year. He did not want to be bothered as he was being carted around to the drivers meeting. The little boy asked and he turned him down :( Poor little guy. I think Loren can help me with his quote if he remembers correctly. Yep he's a race fan friendly type of guy. As for the track and his new aquired need to race like he has choosen in due time he will meet a racer just like him and all will be GOOD!!!!!

I dont like Stewert, and never have. I do think that DW was wrong for saying whatever he said, but so was Stewert. The announcers have the right away to say things they see on the track. Its their job. Stewert should grow up. Maybe he could take lessons from Schrader on manners. Schrader is the man!!!!! But then again, so could half the other drivers. Just forget about what happened. It will all go away within a couple of weeks. Rubbin is racing, but not when its intentional to get someone out of the way. Just go back to racin, would ya?

Seems like unless your "Junebug" or Mikey or one of the good ole boys from when DW was racing he don't have a whole lot good to say. As far as Tony being a key componet to all these situations seems like DW had the same sort of rubbin reputation when he was on the track.

It's all right for hockey pros to beat the crap out of each other, encouraged, even admired. But let Tony Stewart let go of a few less than politically correct corporate approved comments and oh my goodness, what on earth are we gonna do to tame this wild man and bring him to heel.

THATS HOCKEY!!! T-STEW NEEDS TO GO PLAY HOCKEY AND GET THE A S S WHIPPIN' HE NEEDS. THEN 5 MINUTES LATER HE CAN BE BACK IN THE GAME. I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER SEEN A MAJOR COOPERATE SPONSOR ON THE JERSEY OF A HOCKEY PLAYER???? BUT, I HAVE SEEN SPORTS CELEBRITIES LOSE MAJOR ENDORSEMENT DEALS OVER THE CRAP THEY'VE PULLED(KOBE BRYANT JUST TO NAME THE MOST RECENT).

I COULD CARELESS WHAT STEWART DOES. HE COULD WIN 10 MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS, OR RETIRE TOMORROW. IT DOESN'T AFFECT MY WORLD ANY. I JUST THINK THESE WHINE BAG MILLIONAIRES OUGHT TO ACT LIKE THEY APPRECIATE THEIR GOOD FORTUNE MORE. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, ME INCLUDED THAT WOULD TRADE PLACES WITH THEM IN A HEART BEAT. EVEN IF IT MENT BITING MY TONGUE AND WATCHING MY P'S AND Q'S.

I think they called old DW JAWS when he ran up front, and he deserved that reputation. Back in those days being a big mouthed jerk didn't hurt a guys career like it does now, if it did ole Jaws wouldn't be around. Stewart does alot of things I don't like, but Jaws blames him for everywreck on the track.

Boogity Boogity Boogity is annoying, calling the current Cup point leader buy a insulting childhood nickname is stupid, and I think the guy should be kicked off the air. I didn't like Buddy Bakers announcing alot either. Buffet Benny was the best.

I do think Kenny Schrader gets a fair amount of coverage, especially considering how the better teams overlook him, and the team he drives for doesnt really give him a good chance to win. It is easy to see that the announcers on TV do cover who they want to no matter who is running how. The Roush and Hendrick cars get non stop babble, and all I have heard about this year is Kasey Kane this and Matt Kenseth this, or on and on about dumbo in the 97. McMurray and Rusty Wallace go largely unnoticed buy the broadcast team, while they keep Jimmy Speners carreer alive by always mention him and his sponsors several times a broadcast. Gordon and Johnson could not show up and get as much coverage as the guys in the tail of the top ten, if there not the broadcasters buddies. Alot of you are going to disagree with who I think are over and under covered, but you have to see it.

No, you dont see major corporate sponsors on the jerseys, cause your corporate logo might get smeared in blood and then the fans couldnt see it. That and the fact that the players skate so darn fast it would just be a blur. And, in light of the fact that the NHL is a major corporate entity in and of itself, I dont get how you arrive at the conclusion that major corporations arent present in the NHL.

Incidentally, the Blues play in the Savvis center, (Savvis being a major technology corporation that spends a ton of money to have it's corporate logo and name on the building), and the entire venue is adorned in associated major corporate sponsor logos. But your right, the name does not appear on the jersey. Just everywhere else you look.

I also think comparing Tony's recent comments to Kobe Bryant's rape trial is well, ridiculous, to say the least. Now, if Tony goes out and rapes DW, then you may have a point.  :D

COOPERATIONS ADVERTISE WITH THE TEAM NOT AN SINGLE PLAYER. ENDORSEMENTS ARE UP TO A PLAYER TO GET. THEN THEY AREN'T DISPLAYED WHILE HE'S PLAYING THE GAME. THESE COMPANIES KNOW WHAT HOCKEY IS WHEN THEY ADVERTISE WITH IT. I DON'T THINK PASTA HOUSE IS UNHAPPY WHEN REED LOW FIGHTS SOMEONE. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS COULD EFFECT THEM. BUT, IF PASTA HOUSE SPONSORED REED LOW ONLY AND FIGHTING WASN'T ALLOWED OR LOOKED AT AS WRONG, THEN I THINK THEY WOULD BE UPSET. THATS MY POINT.

OBVIOUSLY STEWART IS RAISING THE DANDER OF MANY THIS SEASON. SO OBVIOUSLY HE MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG IN THOSE PEOPLE'S EYES. I'M SURE HOME DEPOT ISN'T LIKING IT. SO HE NEEDS TO GET IT THROUGH HIS HEAD AND CALM IT DOWN. NOT JUMP OUT OF HIS CAR AND GET IN FRONT OF A CAMERA AND THROW FUEL ONTO THE FIRE.

BTW.....I WASN'T COMPARING TONY'S RECENT COMMENTS TO KOBE'S RAPE TRIAL. IT WAS AN EXAMPLE THAT LUCRATIVE DEALS CAN BE LOST BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY DO....AND YOU KNOW THATS WHAT I MENT.

all this back-an-forth is pretty funny!! did anyone notice that nobody is whining about jeffy these days?? even though he is winning, and t-stew isn't?? hmmmm... my point being that everyone has got to bellyache about somebody,so,until someone else comes along,t-stew is it. i'm sure he can take it. and he can still win in ANY type of car,all at a moment's notice. i dont mind someone being over the top,if they can back it up. and t.s. can.

Given time Tony will spit up the silver spoon that is currently in his big mouth. When it happens I will not shed one tear.He just needs to be held accountable for his actions on the track"get his tail kicked around a few times " and he will be ok.But very few will give him what he has coming cause they respect the positions they hold and appreciate what they have. The day will come.I have no problem with folks saying what is up,but tearing other teams equipment up just to retaliate is B.S.I never liked Dale Sr. much,"I did respect him highly"but I think if he was still around we might not be conversing about this right now.If you really hate Tony tell his sponsor

such.If Home Depot gets thousands of letters stating they shop at Lowes now they won't be too happy. Some controversy brings much desired attention ones way but I do not think Home Depot is too happy with him after the last couple years.

Dude, Ned Jarett and Dr. Jerry Punch ruled! Unfortunatley those guys are not broadcasting anymore. Benny-eat everything in sight-Parsons did nothing but ramble about Jeffy Boy, so I don't miss him at all. I agree DW is a little over the top. Boogity Boogity...is lame. I am assuming though, that DW's eyesight is good enough to allow him to see what has transpired on the racetrack this year. He is calling it like he see's it and that is refreshing in a sport that is starting to emulate pro-wrestling. If you think he is picking on TS, or fabricating controversy then maybe you should check with some of the other drivers. Try asking Hillenburg, Rudd, Wimmer, J.Burton, T.Labonte, Jeffy, Kahne, K.Busch, Newman, and R.Wallace what they think of TS's bulls*it this year. What goes around comes around.

AMEN TO THAT Midget - Tony is a talented DRIVER. He is not and does not want to be a television personality. He says what he thinks and always has. He has said before that if the commentators don't want to hear what he thinks then they should not put a microphone in his face and ask him. Here here.

By the way. . . . I would much rather hear Tony telling it like it is than to hear Junebug get out of his car week after week and say "we had a good car. . . . . " He said that three times this week. Yeah, Jr. we know!!!

If Tony does not want to be a television personality then he is in the wrong business. when with nascar you do get in the tv lime light he knew that.
THe best place for TONY is away from racing

He really just wants to race. Isn't that what it is supposed to be about??? When he was a small kid dreaming of making it to the big time, he was not dreaming of being a "star" he was dreaming of being a "racer". Read his book, he explains his views very clearly. I believe that Tony is the last of a dying breed - he cares about RACING and not about his public persona or BEING A STAR. It is too bad he can't do what he wants to do without the help of corporate sponsors. Nobody can do that in the sport today because it takes too much money to be competitive. It is almost like you have to sell your soul to some corporate sponsor and then be a puppet and make nice with the tv cameras. I really don't see Tony ever being able to do that successfully. He may have to get out NASCAR and that is sad because he is a talented driver who has worked very hard to reach the top of the sport.

Remeber who shot 1st, It was DW. I may have a different opinion if Darrell acted like a professional broadcaster instead of a classless Kentucky hick, going Boogity, boogity, boogity at the start of the race.

The thing I don't understand, NASCAR is trying to improve their image, why is Darrell in the booth? ? ?

NASCAR won't allow paying sponser redneckracing.com but, due to the image, but allows and pays for an idiot in the booth yell boogity boogity boogity.

Hell it was the RED NECKS that made Nascar what it is TODAY!!!! The corporate beautiful people decided this was a cool ride and jumped on
board. I personally don't like the boogity boogity deal either. Maybe Nascar and some of us need to do alittle history on the beginnings of NASCAR. You tell me boot leggin moonshine aint REDNECK  LOL!!
J/M/O The corporate America is the reason they can't race the way they used to. All that money tied up!!! Rubbin is racin but not anymore in the Nascar world.. One car does a payback and there goes half the field BOOM big MESS!!! :( But in the OLD DAYS it was different if you are comparing the Tony with the likes of Darrell and Dale E. and all the other bump and runners. It's not just the same .. :( Maybe Tony is in the right place wrong time with his driving .... His tude now that's another post ;) :D
