I'm confused. Which end of the 1/4 is being extended? According to the pictures dirthound took, it looks like the west end is being extended. But according to Jimmy's artwork, it appears the east end (where the lagoon is) is being extended. Wonder if that marsh-pit area will be a problem if turns 3&4 run over it. Kind of like the spring at Godfrey always seeping and rutting out the corner. Either way I think this is gonna be one very cool track.

The track is being extended at both ends. 125 feet in turns 1 and 2 and 150 feet in to turn 3 and 4. My art work isn't exact. I don't know how far it will go.

The pictures posted was just showing the guardrail being removed. The entire guardrail around the 1/2 mile is being removed.

I think this track is going to be much bigger then I pictured it. I would what kind of gear I would need.

Faster + Mistake = $$$$

If that's the way the track is going to be ,Why can't they keep the 1/2 mile .It looks like it would fit in the middle just like the 1/4 did.(I'm SORRY I REALLY LIKED THE 1/2) anyway it will be awesome.

I'm about to kick all of you off this site. If you can't use appropriate language, go somewhere else!

A 3/8 mile track will be better, even if semi-banked. The DTWC and Show-Me 100 are both on intermediate banking 3/8th's mile tracks, and they put on great shows.

I agree moonflow. I've been to west plains and ky lake both 3/8 mile tracks.I just like the speed they get going on the half at tri city .It dosen't matter what size the track is as long as it's dirt.

Even though I only attend Tri-City when they run sprint car without wings or midgets, I will really miss the half-mile track. I saw my first race there on Aug. 17, 1977. I will never forget all the great drivers that were there, on their way back from Knoxville, I believe. Doug Wolfgang was there in the Bob Trostle Vise Grips car, Little Joe Saldana and many more that time has erased from my memory.
I did attend quite a few events over the years, even some WoO races and some stock car events as well. One of the best races I ever saw was on Labor Day weekend 1980 which featured a USAC midget battle between Rich Vogler and Tom Bigelow. They swapped the lead at least twice a lap, with Rich Vogler finally prevailing.
I enjoyed the USAC midweek show in 2005, and was sorry it didn't happen again this year. I was there for the POWERi midget and winged sprint show run on Oct. 8 this year. Even though it was on the 1/4 mile I enjoyed it.
On a sad note, I was there for the USAC sprint and midget show on April 27, 1991 when Shannon Finley was fatally injured on the small track in a midget.
Now if we could get the wind to always blow towards the track instead of the grandstand, it would be great.

I agree. From the info posted on here the banking should be very similar to KC raceway. I have only been there once but it sure was an exciting multi line racetrack.

Moonflow, maybe next year we can camp on the ground rather than on the water!

KC Raceway is definately an example of how a 3/8th's mile should be. A fantastic track.

Now, if they could only get a campground that doesn't have a drainage swale running clean through the middle of it.
