Tri-City

Gator 49

5 bucks, dkdalaska you really should go to bell clair , they have great racing. BUT DON'T talk about Kevin or Tammy . They work VERY HARD to please not only the fans ,but the drivers too. When it was raining at the race track Kevin was in the tractor pulling a hugh tire trying to save the track to get the show in. Mother nature won. I'VE SEEN Kevin working on the motor grader while the races were going on with grease and sweat upto his ... .Tammy runing everwhere trying to keep the show running. answering questions.taking care of line-ups pay, etc. And last but not forgotten the people who help work the concession,HOW HOT IS IT BACK THERE. AND the officalls.GREAT JOB DINO.

I have long complained that Tri-City's food prices were a bit pricey. But gate prices are in line with other tracks, and the racing is good.

Just to clear the air,

The races on 7/3/09

167 cars in the pits 37 races we're run as follows:

Makeup features from the Fed-Ex 50:
$1,000 to Win for the Modifieds
$750 to Win for the Pro-Crate Late Models

Then another complete show with:
UMP Late Models
$1,000 to Win UMP Modifieds
$750 to Win UMP Pro-Crate Late Models
Street Stocks
Factory Stocks

And to answer the question about Friday 7/10/09
2" of rain at 2:45 Friday afternoon made the track soft and washboardy
I could have cancelled the races when it was raining but we tryed to get
the show in for everyone!

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "Junk Classes" as everyone of our classes are an important part of Tri-City Speedway!!

Thank You,
Kevin Gundaker

Junk Classes?

Tri-City runs the same classes that everyone else runs around here with the exception of Sportsman. Please don't try to say that Tri-City is the only ones to run Crates because the other tracks often have Crates run with their Super Late Model class.

As far as the greed thing goes, the Gundakers have made significant financial investments in that facility. I happen to know that there are more projects in the works to improve the fan experience. Also, each of the 5 classes are given the chance to run for big money atleast once this year. Admission prices are very competitive and often better than other local tracks. I'd say that the Gundakers do the best they possibly can to take care of both their fans and their drivers. I'm very thankful for them.

One other thing to note, had the Gundakers not bought this facility, the track may well have been closed by now.

I thought they only ran junk classes in Demo Derbies.

I am surprised the track was in shape to race after 167 cars & 37 races.

If you are complaining about a couple extra bucks you probably should not be going to the track, save your money. If you are wealthy and just complaining have fun at b'ville. Please do not even try to compare b'ville latemodels with tri-city when it comes to car count. Several b'ville late models are crates and another group of several cars that are super late models that could not finish top ten in the crates at tri-city. There are about 5 good super late models at b'ville each week and about 12 at tri-city. The modified class at tri-city is usually what b'ville gets in mods and sportsman combined. B'ville is a nice little track for those who enjoy it, but to suggest it is better or a better value than tri-city is just crazy. The tracks are different and put on different shows and that is great. Stop bashing and go enjoy the one you like the most or enjoy a little of both, variety is a good thing in racing. Please stop with the Gundakers and the money thing. If they were as wealthy as some of you proclaim I don't think they would work so hard, probably would be on permenant vacation.

This pertains to hittmans last comment about the Gundakers. A couple years back, Kevin G. was walking around the parking lot after midnight with what looked to be a sprained ankle or something picking up trash. He made more laps in that tractor than the race cars did, trying to keep the races going during that last big race they had there where it was drizzling the whole night. Belleville is just old, outdated and the cars nowadays are to advanced for that track. Personally, I dont think the latemodels should race at Belleville because its to small, but if it wasnt for the latemodel class they might not even be open anymore.

What's up with all the complaining around here these days? Be happy you have a choice of tracks on Fridays and Saturdays in this area. They each have their good and bad points. Each of them put on good programs and no sane person believes the owners don't care if the fans are happy or not.

If none of these facilities are up to your standards you can:
a. Build your dream facility and show them how it's done.
b. Try drag racing, karts or go cruise the DQ parking lot.
c. Stay home and watch racertainment from NASCAR on cable.

Thanks to all the track owners, track employees and local racers for giving the fans their speed fix each week!

Like Tri City

Went with the family to Tri City for the first time in June. Liked the place. The night we were there there was bike and nickle races for the kids. Also liked the fact that there was a playground for the little ones. We had a much better time at Tri City than we have had at other tracks. The extra couple of bucks we had to pay was worth it.:D

What are you trying to say about drag racing or karts? We don't meet your standards? I can tell you there are some kart tracks out there that can put 1/2 of your dirt tracks to shame and some of the drivers are just as good or better than yours. :D other than that you are right.

Gentlemen all i know is that if we dont support our local tracks , 1 day they may not be there for us to go to,So support your local track every chance you get .:D

#1 die hard race fans aren't worried about 5 buck and die hard racers would pay extra just to get to race. Id pay 20 extra bucks to get the rain to go away.
#2 has anyone heard about a possible open practice at tri-city this week?
#3 i am looking for parts for a left rear brake floater for a jumper car with a floater rearend.

Thanks

People, people.
The world is full of people that just aren't happy with anything. The sky isn't blue enough, the track isn't dry-slick enough, the food isn't good enough, or cheap enough. Some people could complain about the way the wind is blowing at a track.
Be thankful. Be very, very thankful that we have dedicated track owners that work their butts off week by week to make who happy?.. Fans, drivers, etc. Tammy and Kevin don't prance around the track making everything nice, making sure everyone is happy, and everything else for them. They do it for us. As well as any other dedicated track owner. If they cared so much about themselves, and not about fans and drivers, they wouldn't try as hard as they do to solve problems between drivers and everything else. Complaining about a few extra bucks at admission is a bit ridiculous. Did anyone force anyone down to pay that money and stay until 1 a.m. to watch? Everyone just needs to get along and swallow their pride and stop complaining about little things in life. There are much bigger problems out there, so next time you think about things being SOO terrible due to a small increase of a pit pass, or the track isn't just the way YOU want it, just bite your tongue. It's not worth it.
