Not to mention it is more than just putting up a set of grandstands over there. There is a wall but no fence on the backstretch, so they would have to install fence and cables. Then they would also have to install concessions and bathrooms which means water, sewer and electricity put over there. Then they would have to come up with a method of allowing people on that side, they could make you buy a pit pass I guess to sit over there. Otherwise it would involve another ticket booth and so on.

Just wouldn't be a simple fix.

Just wouldnt be a simple fix? Wow! 5 variables come into play, doesnt seem like it would be that big of a deal? They could of put that new ticket stand they built, that isnt being used?, which was a waste of money, over on that side. How much could a 12x12 shed cost? You dont need no Taj Mahal for a ticket stand. Fence and cables for backstretch cant be that much, its really not that much fence We are not talking about gateway here. Concessions and bathrooms? What about Fairbury? They have a backstretch with the "blue bathrooms", no concession stand that I remember, or it was just a really small one. How much stands would cost? No ideal. Half or more than half of the cars in the parking lot park closer to that side of the track. They already have a fence going all the way around in turn 1 and 2 back by the parking lot due to the old half mile.

The reason the Fed Ex wasnt packed because it was raining the whole night. The lucas race this friday will be packed, weather permitting.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. I guess i missed the increase in purse. Was the admittion always going to be higher ? I thaught it was their regular pay out.
 
some folks would complain if ya hung em with a new rope.
tri city has become a much better facility under the gundakers and i really hope they dont take any of this bashing to heart. if things run late,you can do what most do if the feel they need to.leave.
i dont see thier concession prices as out of line at all. been to a ball game lately? at one point,i swore i wouldnt ever go back to tri city but after kevin took it over,ive been there quite a bit and enjoyed every time ive been there. and you have to understand,big shows cost more to get in.
at least they had something better then a weekly show for the increased price. the one time i went to talladega short track,they charged 25 bucks and the only extra thing they had was stewert and red running a practice session.(havent and wont be back going there) i still like pevely a ;itt;e more,but like tri city much more then belleville,yet i dont have any real complaints about belleville. i think its kinda dumb to get on here and bash any place.if you feel you have been cheated,dont go there anymore.

If all that on the backstretch wouldn't cost that much, why don't you pay for it?

Some people aren't happy with anything. You could give them a million dollars on a silver platter and the platter wouldn't be shiny enough.
 
This is so sad people complaining about the price of things! You should be thankful you have good health and can make the races, 2 years ago Chris and I did not hardly ever miss a race. Now with him having cancer we are lucky to make 2 or 3 races a year! When ever we can go we pay what ever to get in we are just happy to be there. Reading these post just make me SICK!!!!!!!!!!
 
i don't think $12 is bad to get in to have a good time for a night i would rather pay $12 to watch a race than sit at home on a friday night, and you could have left at any time i don't think the gundakers were holding you there so its your fault for leaving at 1:00

That would by far be the single best improvement TCS could make. I wouldn't go and sit and eat that dust all night if I was let in free. I've done it twice the rest of the time I've gone into the pit area. I know it wouldn't be cheap to put grandstands on the other side. But, maybe they could build up the front wall some and get rid of the 1st few rows off the bleachers that would have the view blocked. If the wall was higher it would deflect some of the dust up kinda like I55. Yeah it may still settle on ya', but it wouldn't sandblast you like it does now. jmo

no concession stand that I remember yjey have 2 concession in the back plus and this is a big plus at fairbury you can bring your own food in
 
They would have to put a catch fence all the way around because people would have access to it with bleachers on the back. I know 1000 feet of 4 foot chain link was going to cost me 3 grand without installation. Being a fabricator I can tell you that with all the steel work in bleachers it will not be cheap. Plus the labor to install.
 
I remember Fairbury last year, at the SN race. They definately have a backstretch concession stand. Pretty good food, too, right Hound? ;)

Interstate 55 Raceway usually has more late nights than early ones. Most of the time they cant get done before 11 p.m. Its usually after midnight by the time you get out of there. At Tri City Speedway, Kevin G. usually gets the "better, fan friendly" classes done first. You might be there watching bombers or pro 4 cars after midnight but thats your own fault, unless your the ultimate race fan that has to watch every single race before you leave so you get your extra 2 bucks worth. DUDE !!!! Did you fall and bump your noodle ? Maybe if you'd show face at I-55 you would know what time we finish every week and you are way off base with your times and information ! It is okay to love a track and defend them to the end like you do TRI CITY !!! Tri City has come a long way with Tammy and Kevin! I-55 is my favorite track and in my back yard so we go there. And yes I am a loyal and faithful fan. But that does not give me the right to whizzzz on all the other tracks in the area. ( other post looks like Jimmy D. is covering that ) ... Come on grow up and respect what others have. Not every track can be the Taj Mahal as mentioned earlier. And NO TRACK is perfect everyweek ! Just be happy we have choices... Before long we won't have them and we can only blame ourselves....
 
I'll bet that the MCS fans wish they still had a track to go to. Like the old saying says....you don't know what you've got til' it's gone.........................
