Trophy???

I doubt that, however it does seem apparent that the people from MCS are looking at this situation with open eyes instead of closed minds. That is refreshing.
But some people keep wanting to make this an "MCS people" vs "Doe Run people" and that's not true. And before that it was "RAMS people" vs "Doe Run people." Do you notice a trend? But when the owner of one track JOINS the association to have a better understanding of what is going on it seems obvious who cares. Mel has come to a few meetings in the past even before joining. The only other track owner to ever come to one of our meetings was Denny Keith of Fredericktown.
Jeff, like it has been said over and over and over again, the guys from DRR WANTED a traveling series this year. GREAT, now the MCS people are looking at the situation with open eyes....just like the DRR people have been doing all along. And I also think it's great that Mel joined the RAMS, but that doesn't make him any better than Bobby. He's a great guy, but so is the owner of Doe Run (who writes the checks out weekly to the guys at the track). The many times that I have been to MCS, I have probably talked to Mel more than half of those times. In fact, a friend of mine is living with him right now. He does a hell of a job running his track. So, while you think this has been "MCS people" vs "DRR people" or "RAMS people" vs "DRR people", maybe it has just been "Jeff Mills" vs Doe Run Raceway people....everyone knows there is no love loss there.

How many times do I have to say that I AM ALL FOR THE TRAVELING SERIES. I was in the past and I still am!!!! This was NOT my decision. You of all people should know that I don't even get a vote.

I never said you were against a travelling series!

As far as Doe Run goes, I wish them all the luck in the world, but as far as I'm concerned I don't want to have a thing to do with only a select few from the track. The remaining 90% are awesome people.

To "QUOTE" my good friend Marty Boyer

Blaah, Blaah, Blaah!"
Members voted, members agreed to it and it was a done deal. It doesn't concern any non-members or ex-members during the 2005. People that where not member at the time of the vote are S.O.L. If people want to say what they think the RAMS should be or do needs to join and be at those meetings when the votes are taken or just quite whinning about it! The members that where active in the Assoc. was made aware that the rules would be discussed and voted on at the next meeting. I believe it was the Duck Bros. that did the final draft on the rules and presented for final vote and approval of the membership for 2005. As far as RAMS not being a travel series last year, that was done on behave of the North members didn't want to travel and not support MCS on Saturday nights. When the 2005 rules meeting was over everyone seamed happy at the time. North guys got to stay home @ MCS every Saturday nights and support Mel and the South members got to race @ a the only local track open and was told they were welcome to race there. The membership Knew Doe Run Raceway had some restrictions compared to the RAMS Rules and everyone said it was ok, a few of the North guys said they wouldn't drive to DRR even if their cars were legal there. The restrictions in DRR rules didn't appear to hurt the performance of the class any, 4 of the top 5 in RAMS points where raced @ DRR. If you believe there needs to be changes made to the 2006 rules contact the 2006 rule commitee, they are currently taken suggestion to be presented to the membership for a vote, otherwise JUST BUT OUT!
Marty Boyer 52 RAMS

LOL!!!

I believe whole heartedly both guys that won track championships deserve them. That’s my point a full years worth of consistency they did it and earned it (not sure how many weeks doe run ran). But the RAMS championship 12 races????? As an example if it was the full year what would the outcome have been? Maybe Bill can punch up some magical computer powers and see for fun!!!!

Actually Joe I believe it went something like 16 weeks to actually crown a champion (via tie-breakers). Which would breakdown to four months of racing! That's a pretty solid breakdown.
In the previous three seasons, we ran something around a 10-race season that took us to various tracks. The first two seasons that also included the SEMO Motor Speedway in Sikeston that is FLAT, NARROW and TOUGH! Marty, Wolf and Shannon can all give you recaps on how tough that track was. We went from there to I-55 and Farmington. As different as can be. That's what Mr. Reando was talking about when he said how much they learned from going to the different tracks and different track conditions. But based on what was laid out for this year the number of races turned out to be excellent.

I am not trying to stir up any crap on this thread , and please dont take it the wrong way. I am just asking a question, but why was the trophy given out at a track that is not even with the RAMS? Again just a question.
I am sorry I even asked! :(

Aftermarket roller cams ?????????? 7. Heads must be stock. Heads and blocks may be decked for trueness.Engines may be bored for trueness. No porting or polishing. Heads must be for type of vehicle you are racing(Chevy to Chevy,Ford to Ford) Aftermarket cams may be used. Flat top or dished pistons only..........Important Note: Anything not specified in these rules must be stock from the manufacture. The track director and race officials will strive to implement rules fairly and equally among all participants. Remember, this class is for fun!. I don't see anywhere that says aftermarket roller cams are legal at DRR. This must be one of them gray areas just like a stock transmission is one with gears removed for less rotating weight. If a person would read the rules ONCE and not reread it several times to make it sound like they want it , all rule books would be OK. The question of aftermarket roller cams was brought up at one of the first drivers meetings and the answer of ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED was the answer. As far as the differences between DRR and the Rams are aftermarket intakes and no rear coil springs added to leaf cars. How many MCS cars are running any of the two items ? I can name 2 vehicles. This class was brought to this area to be an INEXPENSIVE class that anyone could afford. As far as the traveling series I think it is a great idea. I also like the way it is to have 1,2, or even more tracks that will honor the Rams points. I think the points system needs to be adjusted by the car count at a track, just like alot of tracks are doing with the payout.Heck you never know but Brad Yoder may be a track to look into for next year ........ OK I am going to shut up and go work on the car now.Kenny
YEAH Kenny it was rumored somebody was running one  look at the rams champion this year he did not have it and I belive if he would have been able ($$$$) to run MCS every saturday it would have been such a close race on all three championship that it would have gone to the last night..... Yoder finally going to open that track I was out there 5 years ago nice track just need to get opened!!!

Lol!!!!

Yeah, Jeff, I think that song was sung a lot of the end of last season...LOL!!! And, it may very well be popular at the end of this season. But, like YOU have always said...."You can't make everyone happy all the time." And, frankly, I'm sick of trying.

By the way, I've been singing it alot myself here lately. :D
