these rules are weak for the sportsman class. they should call it the UMP round-up / Allied Spring Sportsman Nationals. they are excluding over 1/2 the sportsman cars in the nation with these rules. my new car has about 380 pounds of lead on it to make weight, but with the engine i have in it now i would have to add another 400 pounds to make it at 3300, plus since my brinn is in it i would have to add another 100, so i would have about 900 pounds of lead on the car. i already spent about $100 on lead clamps, and had to go to 4 different part stores to get them, so that is not an option. the indianan car and northern illinois cars would have to add porbably 500 pounds of lead and get different carbs, and for a thousand to win show that is 3 days that is not feasible. if this is going to just be an extreme series rules race, why isnt it going to be an extreme series race? the ump street stocks, the next lower class from sportsman, doesnt have a weight penalty for cubic inch so why do the sportsman at the round-up? thats weak
not good to pizzed off the local drivers you think
well you are loosing one car, because i wont take my new car down there, just my older one. seems to me at the first round-up they didnt have 20 sportsman cars show up so they had bombers and street stocks out there. i think it would be a lot better and more interesting race if hines, clark, perry, kimmons, etc showed up and you lost a few local guys, but that is my opinion.
also, are there any updates on the extreme series then? the only pevely races i was aware of were the pepsi nationals and the fall nationals.
duh they do its called UMP TIRE RULEMaybe they should do the same for the local late model drivers when the WOO comes to town. Really are the local sportsman drivers that insecure?
duh they do its called UMP TIRE RULE
YOU ANSWERD YOUR OWN QUESTION ABOUT THE LATES aand everyone in lates have the same rules as far as only 20 sportsman for the fall event hello their its in the fall points are done time to do something else betcha hines wil be there in a crateYep but many of the locals still leave theyr'e cars in the garage when the WoO are in town. Sure it would do the same with the sportsman, the question is would you get enough top tier sportsman drivers to show up to offset the locals that would chose not to show up.
I don't know much about the rules and do know this has been an issue from the start but why cant they come up with some common ground to get far away states to come in? Good example is us on the kart track. We have what we call "The Kid Kart Nationals" all karts must be to the same spec. and we get drivers from Fla. to Califorina. No kidding OVER 1/2 the field is from someother state. Last year there were 6 states that came in. Again I ask because I don't know but why cant they come up with some common ground. Heck I thought this show was to draw in cars from faraway. You got to say the car count and excluding sertin drivers is a real stupid idea if you want to call this "The Greatest Show on Dirt" Or "The Round Up" because all your doing is cherry picken drivers to show. Actually the biggest sanction for sportsman type cars would be the WISSOTA Super StockI know late change the rules for all classes since imca is supposedly bigger than UMP than they should use their rules
but we arenot doing a ALPHA BET SOUP RACING ARE WEActually the biggest sanction for sportsman type cars would be the WISSOTA Super Stock
