unbeliveable

I watched fast trac late modles alot this past year they were horriible at brownstown 15 to 16 cations in a 20 lap feature. thats what kevin needs. if you put the top 5 sportsman against them at any one of tracks around here they would run a way with the race!

You guys are missing the point. Crate racing is about affordable racing with consistent rules. Sportman cars might be faster but lots more bucks in motors and much less set-up options than a LM chassis. Rules also vary too much by track. Example Allied versus other local tracks. This is just another option for racers. Few fans love every class.

Maybe you guys can get a jet racing sanction going. They're fast. LOL

I agree that it takes Super LM to get the fans but whether its fastrack or CARS its a good support class that already has good local support and interest by the racer.

No one class is immune from having a bad night. And you're trying to compare apples to oranges here. Al summed it up perfectly a moment ago. For further insight into the theory behind this whole deal, I offer these links:

ALso, if any of the racers currently running stub cars in the sportsman division would be willing to give this a shot, I think they'd be pleasantly surprised. Contact our tech guy, Sean Franklin, if you have any questions. He can be reached at 618-790-3372, or sfranklin@crateamericanracingseries.com

i would like to see a crate modified class also. it's
getting too expensive to run a claimer engine.(UMP)
I have never seen a ump mod motor claimed.Nobody I know goes to the races to watch the cars go slower, evervbody loves the speed.

if you cannot find side by side racing in ump, imca, usmts, mlra, mars, woo, then you need to open your eyes.plenty of great side by side action..crates are more like watching the go-karts race.

then dont go and watch them ,for someone who dont care for crates,,you sure post alot on something you dont want any part of.....what gives Potter???

i dont care about them and i let it be known just like everyone else.only reason i watched them the two times i did was to see if they were what they are cracked up to be,and in my opinion they arent.you dont like my thoughts dont read them..

Why is everyone SO defensive on this crate racing thing? Good grief give them a chance and see what happens with this class. What are y'all afraid of anyway? You race your class, we will race ours. I don't ridicule the bombers or sportsman cars. They arent exactly like watching the WOO cars either, but I stay and watch you race just the same.

I like the Super Lates as much as anybody, but no way can I afford that game. How smart is it anyway to spend 28k on a motor to win 1000.00?
BUT I'M GLAD THOSE WHO DO........DO! I like to watch them.

If Tri City is profitable the way it is now.....then why would I expect the Gundakers to upset the applecart by letting the Crates bump another class.

If enough people build Crate cars....trust me...they will have a place to race. Its all about the money, and who draws cars and fans.

Great post!

i could care less about the crates, and i am in no way shape or form threatened by them trust me..i post my opinion cause it is just that,my thoughts, just like a hundred others do.if you spend 28k on a motor and run for $1000 a weekend thats your perogative, but if i were to ever have 28k in a motor id be running for alot more then that cause trust me you can race for WAY more then that with a full blown late model.poeple chose to spend 28k on a motor and run for a $1000 a race, that is their choice, but dont make it sound like thats all yuou could race for in a full blown, cause they can run for $100,000 if they want.hole point is crates are no different, the big boys will be in them just like they are in supers now,so get ready!!

This thread has 157 replies, over 5120 views & a combined total of 165 votes for crate racing. I think it is obvious that there is a large amount of support for a Crate Late Model class in the area.

sure there is its always appealing in the beginning or even in its first couple years, well see in a few years how its going,if it is what everyone says THEN,then ill be the first to admit i was wrong...until then....
