Belle Clair Fri - What did you think?

I thought it was a very good show. It was the first time it was tried with the POWRi show and UMP Late Models. Car counts were a little low, but that is expected to a degree. The racing was great. I vote that they do it next year and maybe do it twice next year.
What did you think?

Jack, I was wondering the same thing. I thought all the races were nearly awesome. I hope that they can put on a show like that again in the future. I really wonder what the POWRI folks thought about it. I had no idea what it takes to keep their cars on the track. Thanks to the Anderson crew pitted next to us, and the Loyet crew and several other teams there, I now feel enlightened.

I enjoyed the event. I wish they would have run the Micros last and saved what little cushion remained after the midget feature for the late models. I guess the weather might have kept some cars away. Seems like some of the LM guys took off Friday night- the count was low at Tri-City too. The crowd was good, and I think the weather may have kept it from being better attended.

They did a great job of keeping the program moving, but then POWRi events always seem to run like a clock.

Great show! From where I sat it seemed like the midget fans enjoyed the late modeis and the late model fans enjoyed the midgets. Yes, let's do it again.

I thought the show was great. Track was in great shape and the officials did a good job of keeping things going. Would love for them to do this more than once. Midgets and micros are perfect for that track!!! And that dash was worth the admission!

it looked good from where i was sitting at tri city lol. im sure it was a good show there too.would like to see the sprints and late models run here somewhere one night.

Regrarding car count, they still had three LM heats, three midget heats, and five micro heats. (plus a midget B-main and two micro B-mains.) Seemed like a good car count to me. And anytime you can get 40 micros on a Friday night while school is still in session, you're doing something right.

I think I've missed perhaps four or five POWRi/Gateway/MARA shows at Belleville over the past seven or eight years (Out of about 40 shows they've run there over that time period), and the micro feature battle between Andruskevitch and King might have been one of the best micro features I've even seen there.

I loved it!!! My oldest son got a kick out of em too.
I thought all the races were great. It was the first time I've ever seen the midgets/micros. There are VERY entertaining. I sure would love to watch them on a weekly basis. Every feature was AWESOME.
Keep em comming back.

Great show! As I try to do, I brought a new fan to the races. He is a sports car racing guy. He had been to the Midgets before so this was a good teaser for the stock cars. As the Lates rolled on to the track his comment was, how are they going to fit on the track? He loved it. I must say after watching the midgets/micros slice their way around the track (again a perfect track for midgets), when the LMs came out and raced the big lumbering powerful cars was quite a contrast, fun to watch. I tried to look close but the race car sizes made it difficult, they looked close on lap times. What is quicker, LMs or Midgets? The little sprinkle did us a favor, the show was over at 10:00 affording plenty of time to visit the pits and my friend check out the inter-working of a LM.

the midgets are easily a second a lap faster. fact. in a ten lap heat race, a midget will be very close to lapping a lm. i am comparing the best midget to the best lm.

They run three more times this year. Come back for one of these shows. They are good each time they run and there are new cars each show. There was not a good side job last Friday, but some shows it gets to be quite entertaining when there are side jobs being done lap after lap by the midgets.

do you mean at belle claire or any track you might be surpised how close their speeds are

well, mutt... beings that this is a belleclair midget and lm subject, i would think it would be BELLE-CLAIR we would be talking about... but, hey; thats just a wild guess.

since neither time trial kindaof mute point but betcha the times are closer than you think

no, mutt they are not. they are a second a lap different. you are correct, that they dont time trial anymore. i base all of this on macon's lap times, because the tracks are nearly identical...within 10 ft in length of ea. other.the last time the midgets qualified was at macon about 5 yrs ago, and the track record for a midget is 10.35 seconds.

It was a great show but i can't believe how low the payout was through the field for the lm's 450 for fourth 400 for fifth. 2000 to win 30 pitpass lower pay than tricity on a weekly show JMO

I missed the show but see it was just what I thought it would be a great show. I don't mean any disrespect to any other class that runs there on a weekly show but that track is made for that kind of show. Mabe next time give the mods or another class a chance and mix it up from time to time. I know the Power I race at years end last year was one of the best I have ever seen. Oh and everyone got to go see there driver and still go home at a nice time. Well done BC and Power I you guys did just what you said and more. By what I read here it was a smashing good time. I even talked to a few people that only went to see the latemods and told me they were so suprised and what a great time they had. It was refreshing to see something differnt and would go back again. Good luck toping that show I hear. JOB WELL DONE
