Godfrey What A JOKE!!!

In reading the rules the only thing i can see wronge was the quick steer it clearly stats no quick steer. so your car was illegal no matter how far you drove. We ran a sportsman all year last year at pevely they checker our carb at least two times and then at the big sportsman show they said it was illegal. They said they got a new guage. So we changed it and ran the show how hard was that. Just like this year in the rules it stats must be a stock clutch. Well two members of the allied board was selling the racing clutches to the sportsman drivers they looked at the cars one night and found about three of the front runners to have these racing clutches so the next week at the drivers meeting they told them they would be illegal if they had them. After the race the same people had the clutches and they still got a check. The next drivers meeting they said you could run them clutches.
THE LITTLE GUY IS NOT GOING TO WIN.

Just about every track has this problem. The promoter/santioning body has their ideas for rules, but something is lost in the traslation to paper.

For instance AARA says "no exotic materials" but nowhere does it define what an 'exotic material' is. My definition of exotic may not be the same as theirs. Come to think of it, i have NEVER seen a racing rulebook with a list of definitions

Too many rules are subjet to interpitation. The promoters try to to cover this with a "just because we dont say its illegal doesnt mean it is legal" clause that really mean nothing.

Ink and paper are cheap, and it would only take a little more effort to make the rules bulletproof. I dont know why they dont do it. It would just make life easier for everyone.

If you have the chance, look at the official rules for baseball. Now THATS a rulebook that leave nothing to opinion or interpitation. Everthing is clearly spelled out for even the dimmest of lightbulbs.

What about the guy's that got there friday and paid for a 2 day pit pass? Did they give them there money back for the first day? NO. The guy's that showed up saturday only had to purchase the one day pass,so he should have refunded the friday pass money to guy's who showed up ready to race and couldn't. Little things like that are what really makes a track look like they are doing somethings to keep the drivers happy. Just remember, With no drivers,No SHOW. As for them saying no refund because of the free beer and hot dogs, The banner hanging up behind of the grand stands showed about four or five sponsorer's who donated the food and beer. I guess they should have added ALL DRIVERS to the banner as well. Just my 2 cents

Before we go any further, let me remind everyone that Wade and Chad are rookie promoters. Any of you racers remember when you were rookies? There is a learning curve involved no matter what you are a rookie at, so could we please chalk this up to a learning experienced?

On the positive side,

Hats off to the Belken crew for bustin' their tails to get the piston replaced. After driving all the way back to south county, wish the end result would have been better.

Nice run by Marty Kopp and Troy Naeger, showing full framed cars and stub cars can run competitively together. (Not sure what Bohnensthiel had.)

Pat Chalmers rolled during hotlaps, drove back to the pits, and was ready to race by heat time. Nice job Pat.

loudmouth, you don't have a dog in this fight, so I suggest maybe you should just spectate on this thread. I know I'm guilty of the same, but I've learned my lesson.

pit passes

if im not mistaken there were on 5 drivers total that were not there on friday that were there on saturday. was it really worth it to chase down $140 to add to prize fund. and wade did offer everyone there $30 back but it would of come out of the purse.everyone chose to keep it that way.

I cant believe you are now trying to come across all sweet and innocent with the "I am just trying to offer people a choice" crap, this post alone shows how capable you are of bashing the Glovers and using this as an opportunity to promote Mel Kinnaird. You werent even there, you dont know Wade or Chad, and your sticking your nose into this is just pure and total BS. Llike Doug said, "you dont have a dog in this fight, so stay out of it."

Oh, and by the way, if Mel Kinnaird is our promoter of the century, why was he so much of an a s s to some very good friends of mine who went to his track for micro night and got shafted out of their pit pass money? I know how Mel paid for part of that spread he laid out, by screwing some decent folks out of their money. In case you didnt read that far before jumping in worshipping Mel, Wade and Chad did give refunds to those that chose to leave, which is a dam sight more than I can say for your glorious idol Mel Kinnaird. Be careful how much praise you dump on him, cause I know just as many who dont like him much either.

LIKE LOUD MOUTH WAS SAYING THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS TO RACE AT SAT NIGHT..AND I DON'T THINK THERE WAS ANY BETTER OPTION OTHER THAN MONTGOMERY COUNTY WITH ALL THE STUFF HAPPENING THERE LAST SAT... WAS A GREAT TIME AND IF YOU MISSED OUT, THAT WAS YOUR CHOICE BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A GREAT NIGHT THERE...SO IF YOU WASN'T THERE, ****S TO BE YOU
