Lake Hill Speedway?

I am looking for a way to get to lakehill for the reunion. unfortunately my car isnt up to te trip, and neither is my pocket book. I would be willing to share gas money if its possible. Please some respond to this, as I would relly like to be a part of the track history.

I know Gus was there last night. He said some old racer ( I forgot his name ) showed up. And Gus and Mark Miner were enjoying his stories. :D

I want to know how you can get him to work and I can't ?
Actually Hailey and I enjoyed the peace and quite. He needs something to do. All of a sudden he has taken over the couch and the remote and it is disrupting the whole household....

Hope this event turns out good for you guys I know everyone has been working hard.....

I drove by the entrance last weekend. How is the curbing going to be addressed? It appears the street dept. graded the shoulder flush across the entrance and then installed a stout 4-6" curbing right across it. Could be a problem for low clearance vehicles.

book

There is a lady in the area who is working on a book about St.Louis racing history. I think she would be thrilled to get a chance to get a bunch of old timers together at the track once it is pumped dry. I can tell you first hand that it takes qiute some time to pump that thing out! I had to do it once after a flood filled it up. It would be great to see it one more time before it is gone-except the memories will live as long as we do.

If she needs some old photos,I have some from the old Lakehill.Plus I raced there with afriend foe 4 years.rpk777@aol.com

Old Racer

My name is Harold McLaughlin and I drove at Lake Hill Speedway from 1957-1973 in car number 18 sponsered by Bud and Walts Auto Repair and Bardahl Oil additives. I spent alot of time upside down.

See you at the reunion on the 24th.

Upside down Harold.

Old Racer

Sorry I made a mistake I was a member of Allied Racing and our group had been thrown out of LakeHill in 1972 and we raced at St. Charles Speedway.

Upside Down Harold

Rescue Flagger.........

Do you know R.D. Mueller of Coulterville? Mueller owned midgets. Call him up, see if he knows about the reunion. He might be able to bring you to the track.

Does anyone else know any racers in (or near) Coulterville who could help Rescue Flagger?

We haven't had any problems so far. Unless you have a Vette with 1" of clearance . Seriously, it should be fine, but I'll check it again tomorrow. I still need to clean the bridge deck, so I'll see about grading the rock at the entrance. And we could really use help with simple cleanup around the place 'cause we still have trash, branches and stuff laying around. We concentrated on the rebuild and now its final spruce up time.

The place is looking REALLY good. Just a few more touch-ups and shingles on the roof and we're ready to PARTY !!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

BTW, forecast is for 50 degrees and sunny on Saturday.
