Rescue Flagger.........

Do you know R.D. Mueller of Coulterville? Mueller owned midgets. Call him up, see if he knows about the reunion. He might be able to bring you to the track.

Does anyone else know any racers in (or near) Coulterville who could help Rescue Flagger?

Cart7 said, "Wish I could go to your reunion, but I'm locked into Kansas City this weekend. Fess up, gang, you're not going to all this work for one day. I can see lots of cleanup for one day, but actually rebuilding structures? I think (hope) someone has another agenda.

Maybe it's kind of like an old couples wedding night. It doesn't hurt to put a little paint on the old barn you know. Something good might happen. :) Personally..., I'm hoping that instead of a funeral we will be all experiencing a resurrection. It takes a lot more effort to bring something back to life than it does to bury it.

Just got home from the track. Still pumping water out of the infield and the place is AS ready to go as it is going to be. From all of us at Bryan Racing;
Thank you everyone that has put there time and hard work into making this happen. We enjoyed every day out there working on the old place. Even though I never went to the track when it was running, I have a lot of new friends and learned alot abought the history of the place. I hope you all can make it out Saturday and see that the track was never dead just took a long nap. Rescue Flagger, Hope you can make it out, good luck.

vintage car

i had to go to town early this morning .while i was stoped at a stop sign near i-44 a nice looking vintage car wentby, #92 i believe,he must be headed to lakehill. not far behind him was a trailer that said racecar simulator on the side. not sure where they were haided, has anyone else seen anything?

Just got back from the reunion! All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! What a great day. Lots of great drivers, the video of lake hill was excellent, the vintage cars makin laps, the go carts makin laps with some of the greats behind the wheel. Couldnt ask for a better day! Thank you KEG! That was just flat out AWESOME!

For years, my dad has told me stories about how Jerry Sifford just kicked butt down there in the old #70 Mustang. Dad and my uncles started going to Lake Hill because they heard that there was this Ford that was just tearing it up. It was so neat to see Sifford, and all the other greats, turn some final laps on the high banks.

Later on, at Pike, I got to hear stories from Jeff Palazzolo and Howard Worrell about the track. As some of you know, when Jeff ran midgets with MARA back in the 80's, his cars were always red and carried the #70 in tribute to Jerry Sifford. Now, Pete and Katie Palazzolo race micros with the same paint scheme.

I couldn't get over just how intact the track really was. Although the water kept trees and grass from taking root in the track, one would think that over 25 years of freeze and re-freeze cycles in winter would have played havoc with the surface.

a few pics from today

It was great being at the track again. Here's just a few of the pictures I took today

Nice job!!!!

I have never been to Lake Hill Speedway before. Everyone involved did a great job cleaning up and restoring things to what we had today. I think it would be awesome to be able to go and watch or race there in the near future. It looks like there is a lot of interest and support for this track. It also looks like there could be just as much money made as a race track rather than condos. I hope we will see more NASCAR greats to come from this track in the future.:cool:

I hope everyone enjoyed there self. We did not get there untill 4pm and most everyone was leaving BUT We still had a fun time. Bryan's uncle Bill and Grandpa used to go to the track back in the day. They enjoyed there selfs even thought the 5$ beers were killing there pocket. That did not stop them though. Boy the beers shure looked good and cold. Thank you all for your support and kind words. Hope to see everyone real soon.
By the way for the amount of people that were there, I was told the day went well. We turned the lights off around 7pm (ish) and the place was clean. Thanks for not trashing the place. Hats off to everyone it was a blast.
