UMP license??

What a joke. Beginning of year we were told no license,no race. My friend has been to several tracks this year and has not one time been asked to see his license. At one track, they made an announcement that you could buy a temporary license. When did that start? Feel sorry for everyone who bought one that really did not need to. Is this at all fair? I wouldn't blame anyone from refraining to buy one next year! What good is it anyway?

All licenses are monitored weekly by results from all the UMP tracks. We are notified after the weekend if there
are any non-members racing. If we allow a non-member to race we are then billed for his or her membership.

Thanks, Kevin

I think the people that don't race every weekend should not have to get an ump license because we can not afford to race every weekend. And we are not going for ump points so why ?make no since. When we started racing it was fun. Now I can say its not fun any more. Putting out to much money for just a few times a year. UMP NEEDS TO GO

Guys it was the first year for a mandatory license and next year they will be checking at every UMP. Most of the promoters are on board. You can tell them you won't buy one and guess what you won't be racing. Yeah you can say they need us more than we need them but, you really know you need each other.

I've said it before that this is an awful move. Then to top it off it took me 2 months to get my member card.

What has UMP done right?

Their suspensions are inconsistent, license program is terrible, the deal with highland makes no sense......still trying to figure out what UMP does.

My driver went a few weeks ago and they asked him for his license he said what license and they told him ump and told him for 1 night it was 25.00. So he paid it and the 30 for the pit pass. Made 6 laps in the heat then blew up. So is ump going to help with the rebuilding of a motor or are they just going to says thanks for the 25 and have a nice day. Now I'm out about 200 dollars and a blown motor .wow ump is awesome not. Now I say lets get rid of ump

Could someone please explain to me what the benefit of dealing with UMP is. I don't care about their points and as far as I've witnessed they don't care about the fans opinion so what exactly is the benefit. If it is creating and enforcing rules then why is it that you have to finish 3rd or better to even come close to breaking even for the night not counting the initial investment of equipment. Just seems like a bunch of unnecessary bureaucracy kind of like a country being lead by a bunch of liberal democrats...I think I'm starting to see a trend.....yup

Whats UMP have to do with your motor blowing?

i raced at pevely when the iron man 55 was here and paid 25 for a temp liscense on top of the 30. made one lap.

Tom it was the extra 25 that was not in the budget. It was 55 for that night if it was 30 just for the pit pass I would have been cool but extra 25 not cool
