We lost the greatest track announcer ever in the St. Louis area today... RIP to our good buddy TTG..

Seeing Dirt's logo of the Blues reminds me of how I felt when we lost Dan Kelly. There never
was or will be another announcer in Dan's class in Hockey or will their be another like Mike
in Racing. I'm sorry he didn't get a long time to enjoy his retirement, seems like that happens
a lot. Thoughts go out to his family.

Mike was the Jack Buck of the racing.world. not everyone enjoys doing their job but he had no probably coming.in to work on Friday and Saturday nights.

I cannot express my sadness. I've been out of racing for some years, but to think that I will never get to see a race MC'ed by the great Talker Guy anymore fills my heart with grief.

That there was one man who was good at what he did, and loved what he did. That is a far better deal than most of us ever get.

RIP Mike

Tim

very sad to hear this, the last time i talked to him was at timmy and heathers hill's wedding reception we had a few good laughs. he was such a great person and treated everyone like they were his best friend. he will be truley missed by many. i will never forget the post he put on here after the first racestock party at pevely he said he learned alot that night about alot of people and he said he learned how i got the name sloppyjoe. (i told him i was sleeping on my tailgate because i was tired.) he didnt believe me, lol he was the best for sure

R.I.P. TALKERGUY

Mike was simply "THE BEST" at all he did.
WOW!!! really sums it up.

I'll miss the kind words. He could always say something to make anyone smile.

RIP and Godspeed Mike!!!
Keep the angels back away from the wall!!!

I am so sadden by this. Tina and family I wish you all the best in the days ahead. The St. Louis racing area has lost one of the very best and it will not be the same.

I talked to Mike at Belle Clair on Friday and knew he was going to CA. I did not know it would be the last time I would talk to him. God Bless.

received word that mike meurer passed away today after suffering a massive heart attack while visiting family and friends in california.

Mike will be missed tremendously by the racing community...

He is one of the greatest track announcers in the country and we've enjoyed his announcing for so many years primarily at belle-clair speedway & i-55 raceway... He also announced at many other places over the years. He was affectionately known on here and around the stl racing community as "the talker guy"

i considered him a true friend...

Thoughts & prayers to his wife tina and all of his family and friends!

rip mike!thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends! He will be missed!

WOW!!! No one can call a race like Mike!! Thoughts and prayers to Mikes family from Troy and Dawn! God's Speed!!!! We will miss him forever!!!

There is nothing I can say that hasn't been said 111 times before me hear. I am Extremely sad and miss him already, but will continue to go and enjoy racing at the tracks Mike worked his majic week in and week out. But, weather I go once or I go a thousand more times, When it's over i will still say, it woulda been better if TTG were here!

Rest in peace my friend.
That's all for this time..Till next time!

RIP Mike...This guy made the races exciting! Best announcer ever. Prayers and condolences to the family...miss him already....:(

I am at a lost for words, i feel like i lost one of my best friends, My sympathys to Tina and Mikes family. Mike you will forever be missed. Jimmy Hardesty aka (Gumby)

I'm not sure which announcer was better, Glen Jacoby or Talker Guy. But because of the lineage and legacy of those two greats, whoever takes over for Mike will be standing on the shoulders of giants. I trust Allied will make the right decision on TTG's replacement, but whomever gets that opportunity will have some HUGE shoes to fill. But the time to make that decision will be later; let's just make this weekend about honoring Mike.

This is damn sad. I think Mike was what gave Belle Clair and I-55 such great atmosphere. He was one of a kind and will be missed by everybody who knew him from the races or wherever. R.I.P TTG!
