Hoosier Tire rep to be at I-55 this Saturday to work with mods on new A40S tire

Why have a middle man at all? The tracks around here could set a set if rules close to ump negotiate their own tire deal and the promoter and racer would be ahead of the game.

its really up to promoters. A switch can be made if racers and promoters get behind it. Staying with current setup is not going to fix anything. Just wasted over 600 bucks on these useless A40S tires cant wait to watch them wear extra fast. Lucky I guess cause one of the tires I bought is an old A40, so I guess at least one tire will make it through the night. lol. thanks Hoosier and UMP.

Dean, Rusty, or any other racers, track owners or promotors why is it that you think Hoosier or the sanctionings don't get outside tire specialists involved with issues like this or when developing a new tire? This is a sincere question to me. I know they have their engineers and they test constantly with drivers, but I really do think we could help the situation. Tire prep aside because that's not what I'm talking about here, I'm talking about the massive amounts of knowledge available from guys like myself. Is there an answer? Some of us have spent most of our lives doing nothing but thinking about tire performance, I would think that would be appealing.

If you can help me keep the RR from coming apart. Call me 314-537-4048. If your solution is cheaper then bolting a new tire on RR every race call me. Rick

I still believe the A-s is no better than a D for wear and that is why they brought it out nothing will change my mind on that situation complete money making deal if they do make the 26.5 H we will just be back where we were two years ago before we went all A now the guys that can afford to burn the A-s tires up every week will be that much further ahead I have always been a big supporter of UMP but I wish there was another option now this years rule changes were awful decisions

I agree rusty. I had the Hoosier rep looking at my new A-S telling me that if I siped the tire on an angle and turned it around on my wheel that it will even out the edges. Which maybe true but never had an issue with last years A.Bottom line he said you have to run an H on RR if it's slick or abrasive. Very frustrating....

Just wait a couple of days, after last nights test a decision will be made on what tire Hoosier will produce in the near future.

Thanks, Kevin

He strait up told me the life expectancy of the tire was only 4 nights I got at least 15-20 nights out of the old A on 3 corners and 4-6 nights out of a RR depending on track condition

And ther lies the problem Rusty, you are getting too many nites from that tire, time for a change. Follow the money.
