08-09 Blues thread

HOW BOUT THEM BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never heard it as loud in there as it was during the last minute of that game. It sent shivers up my spine!

With an anahiem overtime loss, and a columbus loss, if the blues win today they jump into 6th place and play the vancouver canucks! I may take that over all else, the sedin boys are dangerous, but so are we right now! GO BLUES, 15th to 6th would be just a crazy 2nd half of the season run!

No matter what happens, this season will go down as one to remember for Blues fans. This should be a hard hitting series against the 'Nucks. The only bad thing is the west coast starting time of 9:10. If the games go into overtime, I'll be zombie-ing it to work the next day.;)

Nice job what a finish for this team.I think the 3 months of hard nosed playoff hockey this team has played will surprise Van and we will win this series in 6.

yea it might go to 7 but i was thinkin the same in 6 at home .i wish i didnt have a game myshelf on sunday or i would b goin to game 3 but i might just say hell with my game and go :D

We will be there in full force. 3 Sets of dreads and a guest to be named later. Need to get 1 of the first 2 then come home and take 2 more.

The day has arrived take no prisoners f*** Canada and the Canucks.I bleed Blue, well Blue and beer but that is irrelevant its playoff time.LETS GO BLUES.

In the past I always thought they would never make it past the 1st round and I was right but this time even I think MAYBE "they may go all the way" Call it a bandwagon jumper thing but I see a very good reason to climb on board. I always said if you let the team jell for a few years good things can happen.

I think it will be a good playoff shot for the Blues. I am by no means a Blues fan. I enjoy the sport and the game but have been a Sharks fan since their inception into the NHL. I am originaly from Calif.

But watching the blues play this second half has been nothing but steller and will continue to watch them play. Mason has been nothing but awsome in the net and Oshie is one hell of a skater.

I'll jump on the bandwagon a little bit and say let's go Blues.

Well in all honesty, I didn't think we'd win both games up there so I'll go with.....
The negatives first- Power play needs to be better. 1 in 7 is not good, case in point the 5 on 3. Good puck movement but that was about it. We can't afford to let Luongo get hot. We had a alot of screens in front of him but need to take more shots. We have to match Vancouvers hitting. I don't think we did that.
The positives- The kids get the first game under their belt and should each have a better game Friday. Mason looked good with the exception of the two screened shot goals. Good to see Boyes score in his first playoff game.

I'm not worried at all and I think if we come out strong Friday, we'll take a split of the first two games. Murray knows what the team has to do and I think they'll respond. If we lose, I'd scratch Crombeen or Hinote and put in Janssen to match Hordichuk and Rypien's hitting and give us a boost Sunday.

I agree I didnt think we would get both up there either. I also agree that we have to pepper Luongo with shots especially on the power plays. He tends to get a little rattled if you press on him real hard. I say we will win Friday. The youngsters definately looked a little tight last night, like you said I think they will be a lot better Friday. I don't think we got out played, they just got 1 kinda soft goal and the second 1 he had no chance. The puck just bounced the Canuck's way last night.

Congrats 1stbreak for being on ksdk. Unless the Blues plow over Luongo and injure him tomorrow, we're done..........

Well in order to plow him over you HAVE TO PLAY HOCKEY. What the he double hockey sticks happened. They just quit playing. If your going to sit Hinote and play Jansen then PLAY HIM! I swear the last half of the game Murray only played have the damn bench. The crowd was terrible last night, half of them wouldn't make a sound even if you stuck a stick of dynamite up their --s. As a season ticket holder I've spent a lot of time going to games to support them instead of working to get my cars ready for the season, not to mention the money also. And yea yea I know they made the playoffs, but it's like they decided they made it and now they have nothing to prove. It's kinda like starting on the pole for the world 100 and then pulling off after 2 laps just because you made the show. Why would you work so hard to get into the playoffs and then stop playing. I have to give it to Luongo though he will win a lot of games for the Canucks, but we proved it with the first goal you have to crash the net and put pressure on him and he will crack, but you can't let him breath cause he will get you. I'm glad they did the interveiws before the game and not after. Haven't decided if I'm going back Tuesday or not.

I think the Blues got hosed on the no goal call but it's a moot point now. The officiating was horrible. I'm looking forward to next year. At least the team entertained us this season.

I can't say for the whole year but the last 10 or so games were the best Blues hocky I have seen in a while. Except the playoff's. The young guns were not ready for playoff hocky. Don't trade anyone....keep the same players and let them jell 1 more year and ILL bet great things will happen. Ya the officiating seemed to me to be mostly 1 sided but what a great run they had. No big deal the Blues have been shut out before.
Talking about a class act, They did not run off the ice with there tails tuck they hung around and thanked the FANS and the fans did the same they also did not run out of the building. Looking forward to next season but not so fast got to get some racing in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job Blues

Good job Blues and Blues fans.Lost my voice screaming last night. So its on to racing season see you all in next years post.
