08-09 Blues thread

I think the Blues should have a pretty good season. Looks like we will finally have another goalie who can win games beside Legace. He needs a break every now and then. Hopefully we can win the cup for Kieth Tkachuk, as he is saying this may be his final year in the NHL. Cant wait til Oct 10. Home opener. LETS GO BLUES!!!

I don't follow Hockey that close but didn't Johnson miss the beginning of last year as well and when he did play was he really that effective. It sounds to me like he's either got the worst luck in Hockey or he's soft, maybe accident prone is a better description. I wouldn't count on him for anything personally. I think we have other talent that can step up, we had good runs last year it was just spotty. Putting it together is the trick....duh. Like I said I don't follow it that close so what do I know.....

aaahh yeah , you should keep not following hockey and hang out with J D Drew and talk about soft players you clueless J hole .

Out of the three major sports teams in St. Louis, the Blues go out of their way for the fans. Hockey players as a whole are the nicest and most accessible athletes in pro sports. The Cardinals don't care about their fans because they know the 'blue hairs' will buy tickets no matter what. I'm worried about the Rams with their ownership. We might be w/o a team in five years again and that would be horrible. Dave Checkettes seem's like a sincere owner and I look for things to improve in a hurry. By the way, I'm hearing free food night is March 15.

WOW Josephh! Tell me how you really feel. I feel I must apologize for my obvious innacurate opinion But as I stated previously I don't follow it that close what do I know.....
J hole Jim

No flying I wasn't talking about you. The suite I have is for the Predators. I do have extra seats for the Stars on 10/16 that may be available. keep you posted.

Win, lose or draw, I am ready for the Blues to get it going again!

I am bummed over the EJ injury. It will cost him a year of development in addition to the fact he won't be helping the team any for this season. I guess the only way to look at it any positive light, if its possible to, is as a growing team we weren't going to win the cup this year anyway so his loss this year isn't keeping us from that goal. Hardly a positive though.

Lets go Blues! :)

I heard from a source they were squirrling around with the golf carts and two of them had a head on ala jackass style and E.J. injured his knee that way. We'll never know either way.

Big win for the Blues 9-4 over the Atlanta Thrashers. David Perron had the hat trick and Andy McDonald had 5 assist. The power play looked good with 3 goals in 8 attempts. D.J. King took apart Xlb and looks to have a top 5 year in the fight dept. All in all an excellent game with the kids chipping in.

Finally the season starts tonight. Even if the Blues don't make the playoffs, this team will be exciting to watch. I say we beat the Preds tonight 4-2 and hopefully Janssen gives Tootoo a beat down. GO BLUES!!!!

:D:D:D:D just had to

Come on Hound, it's the start of the season. I prefer to look at the glass as half full. Give the young guys a chance. Right now the season looks bright. Lets see how they are doing after Thanksgiving.;)

after easter would be more like it

Great game last night. Team has more speed and the power play looked awesome. Thought it was kind of funny John Kelly and Bernie Federko were commenting on Jackman's injury. How could you not see where that skate went? Anyway I hope Barrets o.k. The Blues are in Long Island tonight to take on the Islanders. Game time is 6 cdt on ch.11. The thing I hate about tonight is you have the Blues game, Mizzou-Okla. St., and the Cup race on at the same time. Look's like my remote is going to get a workout tonight. Chris Mason will be in goal.

Great game last night. The Blues looked a lot faster than they have in the past. They were much more aggressive offensively. I think the upgrade in skill, outweighs the loss of the grinders (Mayers, Johnson, etc).

Anyone heard if Jackman made the trip to the Island?
