I can understand that you may have been upset. However, it is my opinion, that if you would have stayed in your own pit area, your foot would be doing a lot better and Brent wouldn't be suffering from you losing your temper and then compounding the problem with subsequent immature remarks.

Dropping ump is a great idea if you plan on having just a set group of cars and racers. Your "points" chasers will no longer be there. Its something that needs to be done but by all and not just one track to make it work or least "make a statement". Al you should get paid for keeping keifer at home lol. Ive seen that guy destroy more cars and some reason he keeps coming back.
 
Ump is still around because although most promoters and racers dont want or need them, tracks are scared to pull the trigger on getting rid of them. If one did and pulled it off then others would surely follow. Don knows better than anyone if we actually need them or not. If not lets make a move and lose em.
On the kiefer/kreke deal after seeing what krekes goons did to jim moon while he was still sitting strapped into his car at bc last year how the hell u gna suspend kiefer for trying to drive away from a mobbing??.. if al wants to squabble with other drivers he should get in a racecar. Other than that hes just a hot headed pit man. No im not a kiefer fan.

Good...the point of dropping them is to get the point across! Don could get the same group of guy's there without being U.M.P!
 
UMP does absolutely nothing for the weekly racer. If you look at the national points for the late models and modifieds, you only see a few local guys in the top 20. You may lose drivers like Kloos, Harrison, and Griffaw...but I think you'll more than make up your car count by guys not wanting to pay the membership fee. UMP died with Bob Memmer, in my opinion. The Summer Nationals have not seen the caliber of drivers they had when they first began...and I'm honestly surprised at the fans the series still pulls in. The Summer Nationals also kills the weekly racer's chances at a decent finish in the standings. I think it should have been a separate series, with maybe your top 10-15 finishes over the series counting towards UMP national points.

As for Al...yeah, he probably shouldn't have gone into Kiefer's pits. However, I've watched Kiefer wreck many a car over the past few years and I'm sure emotions got the better of him. If I was a pit man for Kreke the night Moon flipped Brent under caution, I can't say I wouldn't have reacted the exact same way. Someone needed to call Sam Driggers out.

I really hope that Belleville does this and makes it work. I'd love to see other tracks follow suit and really send a message to UMP.
 
UMP good for Latemodels, but I'm one that thinks a single tire compound no grooving or siping. And change the body rules to more the vision Bob Memmer had. Less aero.
Modifieds IMCA or USRA sanction with their rules might be better, but I'm no mod guy I just listen to guys out mid MO and hear what they say. Callaway dropped UMP this year and went USRA.
I think whats hurting racing more than anything is fuel costs, limiting things like engines or shocks isn't going to change who dominates or how much money is spent. I run a 525ct crate and on a low budget, but this is super lates not a limited class. Don't mess with it too much or more just might quit.

As far as the suspension deal all I can say is Keifer passed a lot of cars clean but it sure looked like once he got to Kreke it was intentional. It should have ended there and Keifer get DQ for rough driving, Frankel got took out in the deal, didnt see them making a scene. But there was a mob scene in the pits. I know if someone was in my pits waiting for me, especially with a record of violence in the past I probably would have ran them over too.
Taking the issue to officials is proper, if there is favoritism one way or the other then UMP should look into it. 30 days each seems appropriate to me for how it all ended. Both went too far.

Just sayin rules are not to enter someones pits. There should be a penalty. Been in the same position a few times over my 25 year career. Never went there but seen a few others get hurt. I think the rough driving should be looked at a lot more often. My kid has a broken arm/wrist right now because of someone with a reputation. I could have entered his pits. But didnt.
 
Not my dog not my fight but I like a good discussion. Kiefer has destroyed many cars and threaten to kill people before. I was there when he/ and his family/ team threatened to kill Dixon and his crew a few years back after driving like an idiot. I took it personally cause some of my best friends and family was standing right there when he came by to share his thoughts on his way out of the track. Kicked out for the night for his driving style. As a car owner I would def take the 30 day suspension if someone used their car as a weapon on my car. Lets be real folks until you are the victim of some of these scenarios it's hard to say what you'd do. How many times do you let a guy wreck you before you do something about it ? The tracks and UMP never punish rough driving. I believe it's the take care of it yourself boys attitude that creates these scenarios. On another note. If someone rolled you over on purpose while on a yellow would you do nothing? Really think on this one would you really walk away and do nothing? I highly doubt that. What if the driver being rolled on a yellow had been hurt or killed. Any crew would have been all over that situation like stink on shit. You use a 2300 pound weapon vs a fist ? That is like bringing a toothpick to a gun fight....... This isn't about the Krekes. Looks like he accepted his penalty. This is about Kiefer only getting 30 days . If it would have been any of your big UMP series drivers or Kenny Schrader how long do you think Kiefer would have sat out ? BTW Moon wasn't even suspended one day by UMP for hitting a car on the yellow and rolling it over. MAJOR LACK OF CONSISTANCY is the problem I see here. Help me to understand how does one get away with that ? My guess is Sams buddy..... !!!!!!!!!!
 
If belleville drops ump an changes their rules, what happens to the guys that go to other tracks after a rain out, this year has turned into one big competition between the two tracks and I know that this happens when your within an hour of each other an run on the same night, but its not good for the sport fans just wanna see their favorite drivers race.
 
They key is make it if other tracks are still ump that drivers can still run other places. If you change body rules and such then you will lose cars. If all tracks are ump on Saturdays still you need to still work with these tracks. The key is on track cannot do this alone!!!
 
On a lighter note .... Hey Kreke 13 ( Al ). Does this mean that Sam is off your Organ Donors list ?????? ROLMAO !!!!!! Good Luck on the 4th of September when you give a kidney to one of your friends who wont survive without one. I guess you ain't so bad after all. stop crying sissy...you went down there with your crew of goons to hurt kiefer and yes I believe his non driving dirty ass need it but all and all you got hurt instead so deal with it and get over it already! I stand behind the shit I say and will take a ass kicking for standing up for wht I believe! Man up and stop crying and saying boowoo kiefer hurt me with a weapon! Callaway went USRA and their car count definitely went up this year. Dropping UMP would be a good thing as long as you get a Saturday night track to go with you. USRA has a standard set of rules for all classes and they do actually tech cars. I went to one Summer Nationals mod race and did not see anyone there to tech my car.
 
And Kiefer suggests he is a Christian by the wrap on his car???? He couldn't drive a horse to water....C'mon man!..Now you all know why I've become an open-wheel fan!...This BS just does not happen in a Midget/Non-Wing Sprint race!!!!..My .02!..:)
