Allied sportsman tech at the nationals races

Look wise guy. Call mullins or any other engine builder around and tell them you want it maxed to the allied rules and see if you get a finished motor less than 8k. Some folks want an engine builder with a good rep and are willing to pay the extra bucks to make sure it's done right.

You'll easily have 5-6k in parts alone.
 
Our 06 sportsman motor had more than that in it. That is also including LABOR!!!!!!!! UMP does nothing for sportsman rules. Hell they couldn't even enforce the tire rule when they instated it. Too many different sportsman cars running different rules to do it. But it can be done over a few years which in my eyes is a start. Not the BS rule of "follow your track rules". Lots of posts about this subject and no one stepping up to solve this issue. Just not good for racing as a whole!!!
 
Ump vs allied is apples and oranges. You could build a 420 with dart block, ultralight crower crank and rods, cnc ported iron eagles, ti valves etc., slap a 2 barrell on and be ump legal. Anybody will take your money if you wanna give it to them, Ill gladly take it. Stock block, stock crank, untouched heads, I just dont see the logic. These are bomber motors with solid cams, iron eagles, and gauge 2 barrells.
 
I can think of 2 or 3 different sportsman with more in one engine than we have in our entire operation.

What I would do with an extra $10k after building a motor! :)
 
Every sportsman show i've seen the last couple years is the same guy's winning!!! And of course its the guy's doing all the crying!!! They all got the best equipment and seem to be the one's on top!!!
 
Really? Naeger, herzog, haynes, eilers, paquet, Harris all win and none of them have said a word on here.
 
It would be OK with me if the allowed any engine with a two barrel, put the hard tires only all way around. Check tire regularly for tire softeners.

And just how many of these guy's do you think are cheating?? I know three that are.. I went to get a set of heads at the beginning of the year and there was one of there motors all laid out and getting put togethere.. Could put it in a mod and win with it!!! and that was from the engine builder..
 
You said the guys winning were all whining and that's not the case. Until u say who the three that were cheating are, it means nothing. And coming from you it probably won't mean anything either way.

You don't get out much do ya... Iv'e seen all 3 eilers, haynes, herzog, harris, springer, bielong, keller, ripperda, cummins, naeger, paquet, jones, simpson, schaefer, ems... some have great equipment, some have old iron, some are grisold veterans and some are up and coming kids, all of them can drive.

You just named the best in the sportsman class and yes i go to alot of races! somebody just needs to answer jimmy's question!!! why have rules if they aint gonna make the teams follow them!!

What walked around the car and said yes its a sportsman!! When have they tore down the motors or took the pan off of the winners!! I've have not seen any this year and you know you havent either pole sniffer!!!
 
why don't go ask Ray sat ,night if I 'm down their after the races seen carbs off and valve covers so try again lil boy

and im sure they wont either, they are content with the way things are right now.....they all are very good drivers with nice equipment......
 
I remember when noone could beat Marty smith jr at belleville he was always pullin heads or something after the races but not anymore I'm not accusing anyone of being illegal but just sayin so what if it's a pain in the butt just do it and some people will stop dogging your racing association the rule should be who ever wants to watch CAN period! Andi think that the persons money going towards the tear down should pay a majority of the gaskets and the racing organization the other half. Jmo

haha....there is A LOT more to it than just pulling off the carb and the valve covers....lol that doesn't prove anything, and all they did that night was pump the motors......so what.
