no, I don't care what they do, its not my problem anymore, and I'd be real hesitant anyways to tear my motor down at the track....to much crap can get in it.....I'm just saying that pulling the valve covers and carbs off, doesn't prove anything, thats the last place people will cheat, too much other stuff to do........good luck to all the guys though, its a no win situation for everyone...

Why don't you just buy some of their light weight crankshafts. Then maybe they will quit spending the money on them.

Little old me probably shouldnt even be on this post considering I definitely dont race a sportsman (my brother does..)-- but ive seen them teched over and over again. Especially the top 4 in points at I-55 Raceway this year and some have been teched down so much in one night that they couldnt even start their car to load it on the trailer.
I havent really read to much of this thread, but this did catch my eye. Sportsman teching has gone on just about every night this year after the races at pevely.. so obviously they ARE checking for something.
But hey, basicially when it comes to that class, im just a "fan in the pits", but im just saying thats what I have saw--repeatedly.

I think a complete tear done is needed to get the problems under control!!! Like miss cummins said the car count is getting down because of this and the fans dont like it either... I can tell who is cheating and you know everybody that has posted on here knows to.. I SAY TEAR EM ALL THE WAY DOWN AND STOP IT NOW OR JUST SAY THE H-LL WITH THE RULES....

If you know whos cheating come out with it? I would put money on it that your track champion at pevely this year isn't cheating. He won the championship because he can drive. Eilers at highland all 3 of them won races cause you know why because they can drive. Just cause a car is fast and dominate doesn't mean they are cheating. They got good equipment and they can drive end of story.

All this talk about car counts being down...
This happens EVERY year around this time. Cars get destroyed... and drivers hang it up for the season, by the end of the season it looks like car counts have gone down. This happens EVERY season!
Also, school starts and the kids are in sports, which believe it or not, some people consider their kids a priority and hang up their helmets for the year.
I still see semi's in a lot of classes, which means that there are still plenty of cars showing up and are getting sent home because they didn't make the show.
The drivers can police themselves. That is what claims/protests are for. Instead of blaming the tech guys for not doing their jobs, blame the drivers for not exercising their rights to claim/protest. Sure, it costs money to do that, but in the long run, wouldn't it be cheaper than trying to compete or keep up with the so-called cheaters? The reason they won't claim/protest is because they don't know for a fact whether someone is cheating or not and aren't willing to lose the money. They just assume that they are cheating because they can't compete with them.
The whole point of this post has been lost... I believe the question was "how much does it cost to have a car teched (protested)?"
I believe this is covered in the rule book. It would have also made better sense to ask the Allied Tech guy or the Director of Competition directly rather than take the lazy approach by starting something on here.

This is gettin to be funny ! Accusing the guys in the mid pack of cheating OMG.....That should clear the front runners that are beatin them middle of the pack cheaters....LMAO .. This doesnt take a scientist to fix the problem at all....hell its been stated many times what to do to fix but Wooo over the head it goes cause everyone wants to moan ***** and complain when in fact this could be a really cool world wide racing class if everyone put there freakin heads to gether and made the rules to where its a fast..fun and furious class thats affordable for most everyone.

I have a suggestion for an amendment for the protest rule. If a driver chooses to protest he must first do whatever he protests to his own car first. If he's legal then the car in question should do the same, if that driver is illegal the original guy gets his own money back to put his stuff together, if the second car is legal then he gets the guys money to put his legal car back together and the first guy will have to find more money to put his own stuff back together.

Thank you!!! Most of these guys are buddy's on here and they aint got the b$lls to say it to the other person.. They would rather talk about them when there back in there garage..They know who is cheating and scared to tell them or protest them... so grow a set and do it!!! They pulled alot of motors when i was younger.. just ask the tow truck driver at tri city bob!! seen him pulling motors all the time at godfrey..
