B-Mods.......

Lmao....

Give me a break.UMP does allow quickchanges in their limited mods.UMP allows tracks to choose the type of carbs and the tire. They allow a track to go to another track twice a year and post UMP points as long as a UMP track running the same class is not within 50 miles.Go to UMP and look at the rules.Doe Run can can not change rules at their pleasure and stay sanctioned. As for as the motors being cost efficient that went out the door when they adopted UMP limited rules over the B Mod rules of the 350 with vacuum.Don't argue with this when world product fully ported and polished heads with titanium valves and shaft rockers are legal.

:D:D:D:D Your toooooooooo FUNNY......

* Under the guideline of the 2009 DIRTcar UMP Modified rules any and/or rules and as stated in the 2009 DIRTcar Rule Book, all DIRTcar rules applies to all divisions, except in instances where any local track rules, pertaining to any item are listed in the local track rules, whether that is in the technical components and/or the racing procedures and/or overall rules that are administered by the local track officials and management. In those instances and where applicable, the local track rules shall prevail.

You might want to ask around. You would probably be surprised at how many mods and even late models that don't run alcohol.

Yep, if you look in circle track this month there is an ad for 113 octane race gas and Chad Mullins(mullins race engines) is the one talking about it how he recomends to everyone. Lots of guys in the area have a mullins.

thanks

thanks dirtsurfer I didn't know track could add there rules,
Ken i agree about the fuel and alky on cost it equals out. Another thing i agree on is, this is our 3rd year and this year we did get to work on the set up only on the car because the rules has not changed in 3 yrs and so thats been nice..
This class is a very good class, when I commented on letting them run alky it was because they have it at fredricktown where they run every week and it is a pain to drain your fuel cell and change carbs for one week. If this was a weekly show at farmington then make your car every bit legal but for one week only i was just was looking at improving the car count. This is my opinion and just want what is best for this class to grow and get better.

b mods

I know how to fix the problem with who wants to run gas or alky or what ever els don't run that class of cars.I'm sorry but that's all we need is another class of mods we travel to many tracks to see sprint shows and you set there halve the night watching their diff class's of mods and who's going to tech the cars to be sure who's running leagel ? you can watch the hobby class and see that there are some of the cars not quite rite.what needs to be done is getting our sprint class back we never have any special show's any more I know it cost to get the shows like allstars and ascs witch we never have had but if you advertise it rite it would pay for it self.

Legallity

Heck I already have world product heads ported and polished with titanium valves and shaft rockers. Those have been legal since the start. Mine are also aluminum with a heavy metal flake paint so the magnets stick to them. What's new this year is the nitrous boosters that I have hidden in the ports of the heads with the lines machine in the back of my block and running under the intake. (oops did I say that out loud). Of well I'll just take them out and leave the cockpit adjustable electric weights jacks in there.

Well, the hobby classes (aka Support Classes) make it possible to have special shows and to run the bigger cars, such as sprints. I am a sprint car fan too, but look at the facts... there are tons of modifieds around here. I would go as far as to say that I enjoy watching mods a little more than I do sprints. Yes I would like to see more "Big" sprint car shows, but it costs a tremendous amount of money to make that happen. On the "Business" side of the situation, it would be more benificial to the track to pick up another class of mods because: 1. There are so many cars, 2. They are a more affordable version of the IMCA or A-mods which which alot of mod fans cannot afford... which leads to more people getting involved in the class over time. Just my opinions here.

fuel tech

One of my major hangups on this is the fact that, more than likely, there will be no one checking fuel on a regular basis to make sure everyone is on gas. At the last show we ran at Farmington, I asked if we could run alky, there was an uproar from the gas crowd that if the track allowed alky, they werent coming. OK, thats fine. We went and borrowed gas carbs and put on our cars, so that no one would throw a fit if we ran good. Then we get up there, and another car that was there, was running alcohol and no one ever checked all night long.
I have a strict philosophy that you shouldnt make rules that you arent going to enforce. If they decide to go gas, which I am sure that is how it will be, then someone needs to at least check to make sure everyone complies.

Hey Ken!

Since you're taking them off, can I borrow those boosters? I'll give 'em back the week after! Oh and 1 more ?....Alum. heads ARE legal ........aren't they?

You don't have anything of the sort,But I know someone who has.I know someone who has the equiptment to go play with the big dogs and don't stay on the porch.I checked with a friend and he told me UMP allows tracks to alter the rules to their preference to keep the car count up.The confusion occured when people thought you people were running UMP limited mod in reality they are DRR B Mods.
Have a nice day!

Who was not on gas?No one I seen.I presume you are talking about Kenny Kennedy.I seen them filling that car with gas at the track pump.Cory probably grinned when he saw that ticket!

Instead of asking your FRIEND.... Why don't you call Sam Driggers and ask him your self... I'm sure he can explain it to you....:eek::eek:

Thats what I thought..... Quitttttttttttttt ittttttttttttt.......:D:D
Thats your problem, your not thinking.I know it must be difficult to to be involved with a race car and not be so sensitive.I am not bashing no one or DRR.I was just trying to clairify the rules so everyone won't be whining about everything.I still say have rules and follow them to the letter.DRR rules ..............

Before the topic strays too far off, just a reminder of the purpose of the topic.

Wondering who would be interested in running Farmington Race track on August 15th???? And Maybe if we have a Good car count, he will run us the rest of the season.... So Come on B-Mods!!!!!! Whos in???????:D:D:D:D It will be a UMP Sanction Race....

I am not pointing fingers or anything like that, just saying honey gets more Bees.
