THat is great you are building a ministock Chris. It is a fun class and a good group of people. It is an entry-level budget class, that is why most everyone wants to keep this a budget class. Wouldn't you rather be able to spend less to compete or would you like to get lapped every race.

We are all just passionate about this class and your buddy Jim likes to stir up crap. If you don't believe that notice this thread die for 9 days and Jim got it going again. So if you want to look for the root cause of all the complaining you may want to look his way.

Here We Go Again!

Hello everybody:

Lets stir it up some more shall we?

JIM:

See bullet point 2 under engine and drive train before you build that TOY"OH NO" TA!
Or is that the reason you asked us to wait until we see the rules for 08 written in stone?
Is that the next rule we are going to see influenced one way or another?
If you need to know where the TOYOTA engines are built, I have some friends that can help with that.
Unless you intend to run the ED PINK version which is just like the Fontana stuff your brother started all of this with.
(JUST KIDDING JOE You know we all love and miss you.)
That engine is produced in this country so I guess it could be legal as well. (Don't for get to make the suggestion that it did not have to come from the factory with that engine specifically!)
I know you like to post links up for all of us to chase around so here is one for you to go see. www.edpink.com
See if Mel will allow this engine in the TOYOTA'S.

LOL Ole buddy!
That should get them all going again.

ME?
I tend to like what the rules don't say.
We will be loaded for the moon this year!
I just can't wait until the 26th when we can begin to add all the parts we got from SANTA to our cars!
ONLY 90 DAYS UNTIL WE HERE MINI STOCK THUNDER AGAIN;

Oh yeah:
Where are my manners?

Chris welcome to Payton Place.
If you think this is bad, you haven't seen nothing yet.
Although I must confess I wonder if you hang out in beauty shops to here what the old women sound like when they are whining!
JUST JABBING YOU!
Obviously thats what we do here!
BUT:
WELCOME, REALLY!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you who celebrate it!
SORRY:
I must remain politically correct on this forum.

Maybe thats what it was before but not now, now its just another class

Were Cool Jim:

Hey Jim:

We are cool.
I was just jabbing you and you know it.
I must say that I am a bit disappointed that you will not be in the 652 as it was the bench mark for the 07 season at MCS and I wanted the chance to see if we could run up front with it while you were at the wheel.
The new owner will need some seat time to be able to drive it as well as you did.
Only time will tell.
Many of the old rules cars will have some up-grades for the 08 season and
it will be very interesting to see the lap times for 08.
I for one will be glad to see you back in a MINI to defend the track championship.
We need more cars not everybody moving up at once.
B-Mod is over rated!
(Just Kidding Guys!)

Merry Christmas Happy Kwanzaa Happy Hanukkah Felice Novidot
OK OK OK That's enough already!
I think I got the most of it covered...

MCS rules

I raced at MCS at the end of 07.
I think the rules are just fine the way they are.
Wouldn't it be impossible to step into any class and and not be outspent and beat by the veterans. That's part of the fun of this class.
Do what you can do to go as fast as you can go, within the rules and push the gray areas. there are always going to be 1st place cars middle of the pack cars and last place cars. And no matter what we do and how fast we go or how competetive the class is, the "fans" will still get up, get another beer, nachos and take a leak.
I spent nearly half of the season @ MCS and didn't hear any complaining about the rules and dollars spent to compete week after week. If anything
I saw poeple do whatever it takes to get back the next weekend.
However things go the 36 and 46 will be back in 08
We had a ball last season and met alot of good people.

All I was saying a month ago is that you are the only one. Now I won't say that anymore I can see there are others on your side. I am not on here trying to stir up crap like you I just want what is best for the class.

Just because someone does not agree with you does not mean they are stiring up crap, go back and read some of your past post and see who is stiring up crap

Sorry Joe no more banter from me I am done on this subject. Maybe I should sell the car and be done with racing all together. I feel really strongly about keeping this a budget class, I never miss an opportunity to preach that. I even went to a rules meeting that I was told mel requested last year so I could try to keep things low budget. I succeeded at this meeting but Mel did what he wanted anyway so it was just a big waste of time. Like I said to you last year when we talked about it: “you guys want to open up the rules and I want to keep them regulated so people can go compete for little money (4th in points at MCS with $100 motor in 04 and a $800 motor in 05) but you are friends with Mel so I will most likely loose this battle.” I know Mel said he ruined the sportsman class in this area and I believe this is going to ruin the minisock class also. The guy with the most money usually wins, maybe not his first year but a lot sooner than the guy without so much in his car. Now there has been a Chevy in the winners circle but at what cost? I know you guys get a lot of deals and stir the pot to get people going but you have opened it up where people with more money than since will go out and spend thousands on bare heads to run up front.

And Jim my good buddy, I agree that I said some things on here that I should not have when provoked by you but they were to provoke you. You are trying to provoke anyone just to argue. Yes I can see that your pit buddies now have posted that they are OK with the rules but I did not see that a month ago so I had no way of knowing anyone felt that way but you. I can’t wait to see the Toyota you are building because I know it will be fast. I still don’t see the excitement of knowing one guy is going to lap the field every night but I guess I am not as big of a race fan as I thought I was.

Jack

Jack Jim doesn’t have crap in the big scheme of things, maybe you should talk with me be about piloting a GM with real Super Duty power plant. Even he would be lapped!!!!!!!!!!!! And for less then you think.

You’re funny Jim

Thanks for the offer Joe but I will just put a $100 rebuild kit in to freshen it up for the next few years until my boy is old enough to drive it. THen I may do something different.
