Before We Begin Again In 08:

Ed did Santa bring you everything you needed for your cars

Happy New Year Everybody!

Man Am I glad that is over.
Racing starts in just a few short weeks.

Well JT
Santa indeed did bring some cool new toys to bolt on and play with.
The only thing he did not deliver on was the years of seat time
I ordered for the boys!
It was at the top of my list too!
Oh Well.
Hope you all had a great Holiday Season.
See you soon!

Uncle Ed.:)

P.S.
Does anyone have the power steering pump bracket for the 2300 Ford?
I need two of them for v belt or serpentine set up.
P.M. me if you know where to get some of these!

Thanks::)

Uncle Ed, forget the power steering set up.
Get them boys on a excercise program
to build some upper body strength.
Power steering pumps **** up the H.P

Sounds like more of them high tech gizmos that drive up the cost. And Bob who can afford both work out equipment and racing!!!!!!

Santas Rapid Parts Delivery!

Hello Boys and Girls!

I hope all of you got what you asked for for Christmas.
AND YES JIM:
Santa did bring us some new toys to play with for 08
although he had some trouble getting the heavy parts down the stack,
I guess he is starting to show his age.
And thanks for asking!

BOB:

I am looking into the power steering for a few reasons.
I have a nice gym in my home if that was the problem.
The last thing I need is to make the boys stronger.
Tony ripped the column out of his car twice last year.
(The last thing I need is him to be stronger!)

I am looking at trying to make them more comfortable in the seat.
(Since the one thing I really asked for from Santa was more seat time for the boys, but he could not deliver it.)
So it is up to me again to try to calm them down during the races
and keep them from over driving the cars.
We will have "Pony's -O- Plenty" this year so the few that the power assist will take will not be an issue.
But thanks for looking out for the well being of the drivers.
We appreciate it.

John:

Thanks for the up date from Mel.
I also wish we had the rules more in concrete.
If everyone remembers I tried to keep this under control as well, but the general consensus was ramp the class up some.
If the majority wants this, then let it be.
Under this type of thinking:
If I choose to I can spend enough to decide which one of my three cars can win on any given night (if one of them is within reach of course) as long as the same car doesn't win back to back we should be OK.
Can you see how retarded this could be?
It has just taken the fun out of it and made it more serious!
SO:
Lets all take it more seriously this year.
I can do that!

I hope every one had a great Holiday Season and good luck in 08 to all of the competitors in all of the classes.

See you all soon:

Are you willing to put some money on that!!! That you can tell me which one of your cars will win. You make it sound as if your cars will be the only ones to win this year, glad to see such confidence but to win you have to make around the turns without spinning out or pushing hope with more HP you worked on the setup to. Just let me know and we can make some bets this year

Nothing left to bet with!

I would love nothing more than to be able to place a bet with you Jim, but you see we have already broke the budget for 08 on go fast and turn left parts.
Last year we did not "tool up" to the full extent of the rules like we could have and now that the general feeling of the majority is ramp up the class, I felt it necessary to get back to even in all aspects of the cars.
I can't predict the future Jim, but I can influence it some.
The comment was not aimed at you, but just a plausible scenario when the rules are opened up to favor the one who has the most money or (the one how can buy the parts at the best deal)
You are right about one thing, the whole package is one who can be fast and turn left.
I have taken advice from many who have been in this game with very similar cars for allot longer than we have and they are telling me I am on the right track.
I think you said that about us as well.
That is why I said it was a shame that the 652 was gone.
I wanted to measure our cars against her to see if we were on the right track.
I am hopeful that the competition level will be higher as well, then the playing field will be as it should be, but to play this year the price has gone up.
If everyone has spent enough, we will all be close and I will be wrong.
I have big shoulders, I can admit it.
But if I am not, the year will be full of the same crap you had to put up with for the past 2 seasons only directed at us.
I am not playing Nostradamus and trying to predict the future.
It is just my opinion.
If I have done my job here, we will be a force to deal with.
Please don't take it personnel Jim.
It is not aimed at you at all.
If you come back to Mini Stock in 08 we will be glad and I have said that many times.
It is the perception that you somehow have written the rules your self and I don't want that stigma on me, so we will ramp up and come to play.
My only hope is that a few other tracks will try to run Mel's rules so we can travel some.
I liked the fact that we could go to other tracks and try them out.
If I were to get out of this someday, I would love the chance to head up an organization of some sort to promote a class similar to this but with more restrictions and a tighter set of rules that were written in stone.
Until I get out of it I think it would be wrong for me to be involved in that way.
I don't like the treatment some have given you, but you must enjoy the attention because you stir the pot better than anybody.
That's OK if you are into that sort of thing.
I would rather lay low and see if we can sneak up on them and blow past just when they aren't looking.
I think it's cooler that way.
But again:
That is just my opinion.
I am not sure that you can say anything that will bother me too much.
I know you don't mean any of it and you are just doing this for fun.
I am just an old man having some fun with the neighbors and his son.
I don't take racing or myself to seriously.

See you soon!

Uncle Ed.:)

Ed you had winning cars last year just the wrong setup you would lose in the turns. So im sure you will be hard to beat this year good luck you cheating bastard.
Cant wait to hear all the *****ing about your cars!! im sorry you have fords there wont be any *****ing. Like I said before the guy will be at MCS with the 652 and other places so we will see if it was the truck or the driver
