I agree but from a promoters point you have to see the big picture. Look at tri city's car count tonight......low on all classes and not a full field for ss hornets or crates. Seems like alot stayed home as well. But also......if you wanna go and hang in the cold....thats anyones decision. Just not worth it too me at this point in the season. Heat doesnt bother me and i actually dig it when its hot at night at the track. But to each their own

TCS canceled last week when we didn't enough rain to fill a thimble,,I went to a BBQ fundraiser later in the day and ran into the guy that duz track prep, he said if it was up to him they would of raced last weekend,, sometimes there isn't enough effort in getting the show to go on,,,,,

tom,,when i went to the local radar it was green all the way west to st.charles but as you know, being
"THE WEATHERMAN" that can change in a nano second...

they made the right call the 6 or 8 of you on here *****ing won't pay the purse we have all summer to race , go to granite if you need racin tonight , rain wasn't a issue it's freakin cold
aaron if they raced you would of been there kicking azz and freezing just like a true race fan would have been in the stands....

I feel they made the right decision. Tri-City hardly had any cars and stands were as equally empty. I went and watched, we wanted to go run Belleville but theres always next week. I bet a lot of money with the low car and fan count last night that Granite broke even after payout. I'm a hardcore race fan and hate rain outs too but I understand the business side of it too. Would rather miss 10 nights a yr than have a track lose money every week and go out of business. It's a long yr folks, don't agree with it fine but give em a break or put up your own hard earned money to cover the costs every night.

Good post and well said

Like i said..i respect everyones decision on whatever they did. But we have all been fighting colds and its something going around so i didnt want to go out and bother that. Nor my kids. But if you went.......good for you and i hope you had a great time.

Making the call!

that sounds like a personal problem

How many racers do you think would show up at the track to run if they noticed their motors wasnt showing oil pressure on their gauge as they were loading them on the trailer? NOT MANY!! They couldnt run the risk of killing their race budget by betting against the odds of an ugly failure. Isnt that basicly the same concept the race promoter finds themselves in when the odds of Mother Natures rule isnt in their best interest for the big picture? I swear, I think some of you folks are simply not happy unless you have something to ..tch about. Now really, race fan to race fan, havent you missed a night of races when they raced without you because you didnt want to brave the cold or over thought the raindrops on your windshield and turned around only to later hear about the great show you ended up missing?

What has racing come to know adays? A bunch of whimps? True racers race whenever, wherever. I went to Tri-City last night and froze to death, but honestly it was way worth it. Havn't been in years. Dirtyboy is right!!! Who else remembers their dads taking them as kids to the races when it was too cold or too hot? Back in the day, they raced forever. One time the races didnt get over till 4am at Tri-City. I sure do wish Tri-City would get Sportsmans back because i know for a fact that we would go there. Don't worry, next week it will be to hot. If you cant stand it, then stay at home and quit your complaining. I applaud Tri-City for being open last night. That's my .2 cents but thats all i have to promote with anyway.

i know and i think he knew too. It was a remark and a joke.lol. Anyone can make fun of anyones opinions on here and thas fine. I have thick skin. In the days of yesteryear..ma and pa took kids to the races no matter what cause dad wanted to go and the kids had to go. But back then.....insurance wasnt outragious as it is today. I just got over a horrible cold.....cost me 3000 out of my pocket. My oldest....same deal but hers was 4000 out of my pocket. Ma and pa back in the day had least insurance that would knock that down. I dont. I pay 120 a week out of my ck. Im responsible for 6000 and then after that.....it goes to an 80-20. So im a little more cautious in making my decisions whether i want to sit out in the cold with a bad cold still.......possibly missing days of work which we get no sick days so thats on me as well. Little bit different deal nowadays. Id be willing to bet the ones who really dont give a flyin fudge wheather or not they go......donot have kids, have kids or donot care how they feel or what not and have better insurance or paid days off. But looking at the big picture......Tri City didnot have a full field in 3 classes which tells me i wasnt the only one. If Belleville called off they should have been swamped and they were not. To each their own but people do have to realize in todays age things are way more different than back in tha day. I have wayyyy more responsibility and i have to think about what i do alot more then say.....8 years ago. Plus...anyone who is griping about calling the races ever participated in actually running a nights show?? Because i didnt get too..but i did get the numbers to help run an even and ill tell you......the numbers on 1 nghts even was shocking. You would not even imagine the electric bill just to flick the lights on at night. I appreciate peoples opinion but people do have situations that make them not be able to do certain things and noone can demean anyone just because of that at all.

It wasn't warm, but it definitely wasn't too cold. I was surprised by the low car count at Tri-City, but I'm still very glad I went.

I've been at Kentucky Lake for the early bird when the only spot on the bleachers that didn't have frost on it was where you were sitting.
