In many ways "dirtleg hillbillies" are who started this sport. And like it or not, they're still part of it. Always have been, always will be.
 
Business is business and you make decisions that may not be liked by some. I hope nothing ever happens to Belle Clair Speedway, but half the comments on this thread will not help.
 
I, for one, will take a few cancelled events during the season to have a race track to come back to.

As a racer, yeah it ****s. But what option do we have? Either cancel when they KNOW they're going to lose their butt.. or keep racing all year and close down next?

Joe.. Don.. you guys are doing a great job. Keep it up. You guys are helping to bring Belle Clair back to what it used to be.
 
YEP, Timmonsville, SC...... Also a Golden Gloves boxer and football player if I'm not mistaken.......keep talkin and he may just come out of retirement.
 
As a racer I have to agree that BC has been turned around 180 degrees by Joe and Don. They are doing a fine job and keep adding new games and incentives to draw new fans. Keep up the good work guys!

Alright what gives? That hillbilly on the right in the pic has waaaaaay to many teeth. Guess since he was dressed up for a night out, he threw in the falsies! lol
 
Yeah, BC HAS come a ways in the last two years and after going to trinity last week, and pondering all week long, I can't walk away from the best track, the best racing and the best friends cause of a rain out, LET'S GO RACING!!!!!!! I can't handle another race at tri city, yeah they go faster, but they don't race three quarters of the time. Here at belle Vegas, it's bumper to bumper, side by side, passing bumping and just all out racing.

Two jobs I would never do is scorer and promoter !!!!!!! We all know Don isn't on my Christmas card list :) But give this guy some props for what he has done with and to this track in 1 years time frame. He has brought in another class and has specials and drawings all the time- a t-shirt worth 50 dollars in the shirts when I was there - they throw shirts out each week (free t-shirts) and a nickle race already. He does not own the track and he does not have the funds to support a premier track. But he does have some of the best good old fashion bull ring racing around. The class of drivers Bell-Vegas pulls is superb...... no one is happy when a race is called. Promoters age worse than a president does by the choices they make because no matter what they do they lose. Don hang in there and don't listen to anyone but me!!! With that said !!!!! I just spent my be nice to Don card for the year so let the racing and complaining begin :)
 
I agree dirtgirl. And some dont realize they are just in their second year of essentially saving the track from doom and rebuilding everything from scratch. May not have deep pockets as well to be able to absorb a really bad night.
