The thing that will set the DIRT Party apart from the others is that we will be the party with a plan.
The day our party assumes power the Attorney General will be directed to start eminent domain proceedings for the Saint Charles Speedway and Lake Hill Speedway properties. Once acquired by the federal government these sites will be declared national parks and renovated. Racing will resume at these historic tracks. If neighbors complain about the noise eminent domain proceedings will be initiated on their property. Saint Louis will once again have a Sunday night track and a paved short track. Similar plans will be considered for Capital Speedway and the old Rolla Speedway.

How about citing eminent domain for Alton Dragway and Mid State Raceway while we're at it, lol :D

I nominate Dirtgirl as Secretary of Mis-State..... LOL...

I just want to be in- charge of " HAPPY HOUR " with the little appetizers LOL!!!! I think they call that fund raising ;)

And just where are we going to hold our convention at???

And just what time is "happy hour" and please, no cheese sticks.... LOL..

Happy hours, cheese sticks, and we are confiscating property under eminent domain.

The DIRT party is a bona fide political party now.

Okay I will leave the cheese sticks off the menu!!! The venue maybe a track near you and the political scandal ???? Well I thought I was the scandal  LOL!! And the interns well I will leave that and the cigars up to you guys  :D ;)

Interns!

INTERNS! What a great idea! Can someone please solicit applications for internships with the DIRT administration at the Hot Shots Bikini contest? There should be some qualified candidates there.

Happy hour is another great idea Dirtgirl. But... why do we restrict our happiness to just one hour a day? Why shouldn't we be happy all of the time? Why not cheap booze and free appetizers all of the time? This is the USA by golly. We deserve to be happy all of the time! What do y'all think?

You are right Millsey. Vetoe the cheese sticks.

LOL Larry !!! Happy HOURS hows that ? Or we could call it Social Hours !!!!! I have an idea about the food and drinks, drop the cheap booze and have some of the best and drop the food :D LOL!!!! Larry sounds like we need to tail gate sometime LOL!!!! We can have interns and the bikini contest but everyone has to pay to play this is a FUND RAISER after all !!!!! ;) AND the slogan of the campain can Be " No Cheese Sticks allowed " for 2005 " ....

When I look at Barack Obama, I see an egotistical kid barely out of law school who thinks he can run the country. He graduated law school in 1991, and in 1995 published his "memoir." Umm, sorry bud, but I think you really need to actually achieve something notable before you start publishing your memoirs. That strikes me as being very full of your own self-importance, indeed.

On the exit poll in Illinois, the question obviously bought and paid for by the Obama brigade was 'Do you think Obama would make a good president?" Holy cow, talk about arrogant, the kid hasn't even been in Washington for a days work, and he wants us to start thinking of him for the presidency?

Barack needs to understand that he won Illinois pretty easily; vacant seat and no oppositon. We will see if Barack can last more than one term. When he has proven himself over a number of years on the big stage of Washington, and has a track record of something more than Illinois health and welfare to stand on, then maybe I will take him seriously for the presidency.

Until then, he is just another newbie on the Washington scene with his pants on fire out to change the world. We'll see how he is received when he takes his seat in the Senate. I imagine the rest of the established senators will be duly cordial, and then stuff him onto the committees that are going nowhere, where he can loiter away his days in anonymity counting paper clips.

"President of the United States, Barack Obama" seems quite a leap of imagination to me.
Gotta go with that!!! TNIE is in touch with his political side..

Matt Blunt for Pres??

I noticed in the early stages of this post that someone made reference to Matt Blunt.. I spent Wednesday with my representive, sentor, and Matt Blunt was with us for a short while. While I am impressed with his enthusiasm, I'm not sure he is ready for a run very soon for presidency..Not that he wouldnt be a good one, but it is a little soon..He does however remind me of a young president we had back in the 60's.

t.nie,
I agree with your points regarding Obama. I think that he is an interesting fellow and may or may not hold promise as a leader. I do think the fact that he wrote his memoir four years out of law school reflects a sense of self importance. To ask the question as to whether he would make a good president at this point is riduculous. While the idealism that he expresses may be admirable, he has not demonstrated leadership on anything but a local scale and has not been in the position to show that he can get things done. This pup hasn't had the chance to show that he can run with the big dogs yet.

We will get a chance to see what sort of a leader Matt Blunt is over the next few years. Blunt is relatively inexperienced with leadership at the state wide level but certainly does not appear to be reluctant to take a position. I hope that his enthusiasm, limited experience with state government and willingness to make changes does not cause him to make faulty decisions without assessing the impact of the decisions. He is faced with a tough situation with state revenues being down and budget cuts being necessary. There will be no way to make the sort of cuts that need to be made without stepping on toes. The fact that his party controls both branches of the state legislature will certainly be helpful to him as he should not be forced to compromise his recommended budget for approval in the legislature. I think that he holds promise as a leader but it is still far too early to be talking about the White House.

I did get one thing completely wrong; he is the darling of Washington newbies. I mean, they love him, and have put him on one of the most powerful committees in Washington, Environment and Public Works. And he is also on the Foreign Relations Committee. I think it is all a part of the grooming of a potential future Presidential candidate by the Democrats. I still think it is wait and see, but judging by how quickly he has been nominated to these positions, it certainly looks like he is very good at politicking, even if he doesn't have a lot of miles under his belt yet. So much for my "counting paperclips" prediction...

I tell ya, that Little302 must have a lot of time on his hands to be going back this far on the boards to bring this stuff back to life! lol ;)
