Larry in Columbia said:The thing that will set the DIRT Party apart from the others is that we will be the party with a plan.
The day our party assumes power the Attorney General will be directed to start eminent domain proceedings for the Saint Charles Speedway and Lake Hill Speedway properties. Once acquired by the federal government these sites will be declared national parks and renovated. Racing will resume at these historic tracks. If neighbors complain about the noise eminent domain proceedings will be initiated on their property. Saint Louis will once again have a Sunday night track and a paved short track. Similar plans will be considered for Capital Speedway and the old Rolla Speedway.

Gotta go with that!!! TNIE is in touch with his political side..t.nie said:When I look at Barack Obama, I see an egotistical kid barely out of law school who thinks he can run the country. He graduated law school in 1991, and in 1995 published his "memoir." Umm, sorry bud, but I think you really need to actually achieve something notable before you start publishing your memoirs. That strikes me as being very full of your own self-importance, indeed.
On the exit poll in Illinois, the question obviously bought and paid for by the Obama brigade was 'Do you think Obama would make a good president?" Holy cow, talk about arrogant, the kid hasn't even been in Washington for a days work, and he wants us to start thinking of him for the presidency?
Barack needs to understand that he won Illinois pretty easily; vacant seat and no oppositon. We will see if Barack can last more than one term. When he has proven himself over a number of years on the big stage of Washington, and has a track record of something more than Illinois health and welfare to stand on, then maybe I will take him seriously for the presidency.
Until then, he is just another newbie on the Washington scene with his pants on fire out to change the world. We'll see how he is received when he takes his seat in the Senate. I imagine the rest of the established senators will be duly cordial, and then stuff him onto the committees that are going nowhere, where he can loiter away his days in anonymity counting paper clips.
"President of the United States, Barack Obama" seems quite a leap of imagination to me.
