Fastrak Crate Late Models Practice Results

A friend of mine sells parts at a chevy dealer, and has told me that the GM performance crate engines has MAXRPM 5500 written on the tape or whatever they seal the carb mounting surface up with. Also you should go your performance parts catalog or gm's online catalog and see where they reccomend ais where you run the thing.

As for your defense of the entry fee being that it is touring racing, it is still $1,200 to win and $100 to start, that is not warranting a entry fee, simply. It is hard to justify traveling and maintaining a race car and tire inventory for those pay outs without the entry fee, when you add the entry fee, you just make racing your series not make dollars and sense to the racer. I am not trying to run down anyone, I am just speaking from a racers perspective.

dean said it exactly right,we are speaking from a racers point of view, not dogging anyone ..funny you mention us not caring about our local racers,if that was not so why are we bringing up all these good points and if you listen closely we are all RACERS ourselfs

Racer94 and Dean with every post you guys look like dumb and dumber if you don't want to run one don't!!!!!! Why do do you care so much if somebody else does? Do you feel theatened somehow? Racer94 the motor example you gave isn't any better than the GM 604. Last time I checked the GM 1053 crank is better than that chinese junk you would put in your motor, the aluminum vortec fast burn heads are as good if not better than the Dart Iron Eagle. Could you get more power? sure anybody could, but that kinda defeats the purpose of running crate motors.

extreme, sorry to say it but you make yourself look like DUMB and DUMBERER with that post..gm604 as good as the motor i put up please, you must be ill.if you dont like the crank i chose, then we can put a a dragon slayer in place of it for about the same price smarty pants!!a fastburn better then a dart, please you need to get a new dyno..anymore power out of the 604 would be even more unreliable then it already is..another thing im sure dean feels the same way and NEITHER of us are threatened by this series, there is no reason to be,and trust me ill race whatever i want, whenever i want..this is a message board and we are entitled to our opinions just as well as anyone else.just because you like it dont mean everyone has to...i have posted my feelings on the hole deal so i really dont have much more to say,but i do wish all of fastrack good luck and anyone running that series more power to ya,we'll deffinately see how it goes in a few weeks..

What good will it do to run a bunch of underpowered, over suspended, over tired, over chassied race cars .
I agree there is a place for Fast Track, to replace the sportsman cars. Hear me out , take the same 99 rayburn put the crate motor in it with limited shocks and mod wheels and tires . This is what fast track should be doing ,I mean any body can make an under powered car hook up, the major talent in racing is making an over powerd car hook up ! That is "The Skill".

No I think the sportsmen class is great ! Full fenders ,small tires , limited suspension, ect. That is my point you have to drive the h*ll out of those cars to make them stick . If you have not raced from age 5 or 10 or 16 for that mater you have to start some place and work your way up and in full size stock cars that is sportsmen or pro 4's . I,ve driven a spec motor car (which has more HP than a Fast Track ) and it is like freeway driving compared to a sportsman.

re read the post dog,so what dealer can I buy a fast track car ,isn't A good part of racing is beating them in the garaqe

I would even support a crate program if they just changed the tires. But I would still probably not run it simply because I like to Fiddle and Tweek things too much. A crate prevents that.
I have my wife moving into a '90 Rayburn this year to compete Primarily at Callaway in the Limiteds and if everything works fine. She will Compete against me at MCS, In the supers. We got tired of the Limited suspensions in the Streetstock/Sportsman classes. Drop those classes and do something like is mentioned earlier and more may move to the Supers. Mods are really so much different, Guys are sticking with them and not moving up. There are so many used older latemodel chasis out there I believe this should be the change. Not eliminating the Supers just make an entry level of the division. kinda like the Bmods are to the A's.

My question again from the fans perspective is ; What drivers have signed on to run this series? It is the middle of March already, and I see alot of tentative dates on their schedule, and I don't know of more then 5 or 6 drivers interested in the series much less signed up for it. I have only seen their show car at any of the car shows, i have not seen a completed competitors car as of yet. It seems this question keeps getting avoided, what gives?

The show car is a completed competitors car. It ran down at OSP in Savannah, Georgia last month.
